Daemon vs Aemond is going to be outstanding. They NEED to have the dragons rise as one; that scene alone would make up for season 8

Damn I can’t wait for Season 2. That was really demented how they killed Halaena’s son, forcing her to choose and then killing the one she didn’t choose so that the son she did choose will forever remember his own mother chose him to die.

When Robert defends Rhaenyra over supposedly bleeding as a sign of rejection, I like to think it's because he knew how uncomfortable it was and the fact he never wanted the throne meant he never gripped it tight, because to him the throne was never what he fought for, so he was never cut by it.
But Aerys, who was mad, paranoid, and desperate to keep power, did grip it tight and wasn't careful, and thus cut himself often, and we know Robert did see Aerys as a child when he was already king scab.
The way they slaughtered the chained dragons in the dragon pit is heartbreaking

It's rather tragic since King Jaenaerys targaryen and his "good queen" did SO MUCH for these people
That scene is absolutely magnificent in the aspect of uniqueness and brutality, in sense of logic however I NEED to see what goes down because I find it hard to believe the dragons couldn’t have just burned every person running in. Where were the dragon keepers? When dreamfyre ascends why doesn’t she try to fly out the gates? The thousands of people coming in surely needed the doors open. When syrax is killed exactly why did she not fly away when feeling pain.
From the perspective of the people, the dragons were like nuclear bombs just waiting to explode. They want none of it even if they're creatures controlled by irresponsible royals. I'm not looking forward to the scene either but I understand where the small folk are coming from. All they know about dragons is that they need to fear them.
The part about the death of the son given to Kat and the part about baratheon given to Robert was amazing, but shreen, shreen always makes me cry.
I really hope we get more of these with House of the Dragon 🐉

He even wanted to castrate him or send him to the wall but his council strongly opposed that . Not to forget that his last order was to send him in pieces to the northern Army, courtesy of good Queen Alicent.
@@InfamousB9 I support Cregans initial plan, to ride to the castles of the treasonous lords (the rock, oldtown,stormlands) and burn it to the ground with those 3 families gone for good. But sadly it didn't work for him.
What he did was punish those who had anything to do with AegonII death. If he really wanted to off the challenge to Aegon the younger, the likes of Tyland Lannister and Alicent Hightower would've been put to the sword. During Aegon's regency, his council was mostly green.
Helena and Aemond look exactly like this in show. Casting is good.

GRRM says that what happens in the show is what happens. The books are mere retellings of the maesters- therefore not entirely accurate

Honestly it's becoming increasingly clear that the dance was largely inevitable one Viserys remarried and refused to change his mind about his heir. Aegon himself said that he had roughly two decades to change his mind and did not. It is starting to seem that there is a limit to how many Targaryens can be active at the same time. Too few and the house is vulnerable to extinction, but too many and you get armed conflict.
I will say it is easy to forget that no matter how much you might like a character, in this setting, bastardy is serious business and not so easily overlooked. It does suck that the children have to bear the burden of their parents indiscretions, but that is ASOIAF.
Given season 2 will only have 8 episodes I hope theres enough emotional narrative between the major battles and events like Blood and Cheese, Rook's Rest, The Dragon seeds claiming dragon's and The Battle of the Gullet. Not sure if they'll squeeze in the fall of Kings landing or switch it timeline wise with the Gullet, but im staying optimistic since they've done a good job so far.

This video makes it seem like the war was over after Rhaenyra died. It wasn't. It's worth noting that Aegon was never anymore a king of Westeros than Rhaenyra was its Queen. From the moment Viserys died to the moment Rhaenyra's son was crowned King of Westeros, the country remained embroiled in civil war. The war went on after Rhaenyra died. The lords of the realm refused to accept Aegon as King. Even his own court came to realize this with his own hand of the King even advising him to take the black and join the Nights watch. Naturally, he refused and his entire court plotted against him as the armies of Westeros descended upon the capital to dethrone him.

Dreamfyre is the mother of Daenerys' dragons. Hopefully I show her laying her eggs and Helaena makes some prediction about them.
Won't happen, Dreamfyre had already laid those eggs before season 2 takes place . If anything they may show eggs being stolen from the dragon pit before it's destoryed .
Those eggs have been in Essos for decades by the time of the Dance.

I doubt it. They made mention of it when Corliss returned to Dragonstone in the finale. Corliss said his ships were sailing for the step stones and Rhaenys said she would patrol the gullet herself.

Viserys does realize that he descends from rhaenyra, right? Because if "old king" did change succession in favor of aegon instead of rhaenyra, then rhaenyras line wouldn't inherit the crown and viserys wouldn't have inherited anything ever nor would the mad king or rhaegar
I always thought it was kinda ironic how a ton of Targaryen kings after the Dance are direct descendants of Rhaenyra & Daemon, given how hard the Greens tried denying their line.

I think that'll be the penultimate episode of season three for a four season show run.
Given how parts of canon are changed in the show like Aerys being Aegon the fifths son. I was thinking they may not introduce Daenaera Velaryon to the story and keep Jaehaera alive by combining both lines. It'd be a welcome change to the story and an end to the delusionary discourse between some fans watching the show.

King Viserys is the most to blame and honestly the secession crisis was his stubbornness in making his brother not heir and choosing his daughter.

His mistake was not naming his daughter his heir, it was that he did absolutely NOTHING to ensure her future rule would be secured and accepted. He should have cut more heads off and deadass should have punished alicent for cutting his named heir. If that had been a male heir her life would have been over. And daemon would have been a horrible king.
In fairness, it's understandable why Viserys would resent Rhaneryra and Aegon II considering the fact that their war permanently diminished the power of House Targaryen by killing most of their dragons.
Did they purposely give rhaenyras sons silver hair? I guess they had silver hair in the books? I thought they always looked like "strong boys" with darker hair.
Yea they're hair was dark in the book. My guess is, HBO gave them white hair instead of dark so looked more like Targaryens to the general audience.
These were done before "Fire & Blood" was published until 2018.
GRRM had some outlines and short stories but made changes from those in the final book. Changes like hair color for the boys and also Rhaenys.

Ehh, it's more impressive that Aemond who was still essentially a boy (only 20 yo) was so badass that the author's favorite Targaeryan (Daemon) had to kamikaze himself to defeat him in single combat. I don't get the hype around Daemon. He wasn't all that as a character, politician, or fighter.

This is based on book canon, not the HOTD tv show canon. In the books Vhagar is 5x the size of Arrax. They made Arrax much smaller on the show that he actually is.
This family was doomed from the start,they escaped the doom of valyria to concur Westeros but they became extinct, oh well excep for the "i dont want it " dude who hot exiled to the north on season 8

The Targaryen Dynasty simply lost its power due to incompetence and weakness. The decisions made before the Dance of the Dragons ultimately led not only to the loss of most dragons, but to Targaryens as a whole.
Facts. Viserys ruled through a prosperous reign but, he left the Realm with a recipe for disaster

Him and his guard were attacked at Bitterbridge by a mob that wanted to take Maelor as hostage but was torn apart by the mob.

Aegon had no choice but to use sunfyre he was at war with the houses that supported rhaenyra he knew she would come but instead it was maelys And he definitely owed her one by what she did to his coronation , anyway team black all day lol
The Lads were too OP.
There are so many angles we can see Martins universe from. Northern Essos for example got the island Ibben. A species looking like short hairy but stocky humans. They are whale hunters and share traits with both vikings and dwarves. They can mate with humans but it results in stillborns or abominations most of the times.
If you travel further east along the coast you will stumble upon "The thousand islands" which in reality is prob less than 300 according to IB travellers.
On those islands lives a weird species of humanoid with hairless small bodies and greenish skin. They resent outsiders and are deathly afraid of water.
If we go even a bit further east we come to the end of the known world and a forest called "far Mossovy" or just "Mossovy".
Once we get through the dense and humid forest and start heading southwest a red sea reaches our gazes. The bleeding sea is called so because of its red water caused by a plant which bloom colours the water.
Directly to the west of the bleeding sea lies the plains of Jogos Nhai. Inhabitated by a humanoid folks which rides horses and lives as nomads like the Dothraki. However the Jogos Nhai got pointed heads since binding their heads as children and they rides zorses.
If we manage to escape them to the far south we will enter the kingdom of Yi Ti. A very rich and lush kingdom with vast jungles and riches beyond imagination.
There lives a folk which bears resemblence to old China.
As we evade the tigers and ambundance of lethal fauna we reach the city of Yi and the coast.
We manage to get hold of a ship and starts to sail even further south over the jade sea. To our east the island of Leng lies. I will not advice that we set ashore there. The city buildings at the heart leads down far into the earth. Those who enter either returns mad and unable to tell us of their story or does not return.
Once Leng is behind us we turn east. As a coast emerges on the horizon the suns light starts to dim....quite odd since it is around noon...
We reach Asshai. An enormous city at the very southeastern edge of Essos. Asshai, with buildings so black they absorb the sunlight. Nothing grows there. Nothing lives there....except those who dabbles in the dark arts of darkbinding or demonology. Those who searches for riches can do so here since there is no water or food grown naturally here but they have gold and gems in abundance. Thus if you got fresh water and food you shall be rewarded well.
We shall not go there but beyond Asshai is the Shadowlands which is believed to be the origin of the dragons. There also lies Stygai. A cursed city so evil that there is probably only one spot which is worst in the world.
We enter our ship and set sails to the south once more. To the east we can see a landmass with dense jungle, the continent of Ulthos. However i know nothing further of the place. We shall not venture there today. We turn to the west and sail for many days.
As a new land reveals itself itself as the continent Sothoryos! A vast continent said to dwarf Westeros.
Here lies arguably the greatest dangers known to man. More diseases than there are men. Amongst them are: blood boils, green fever, dancing plague, sweetrot, bronze pate, the Red Death, greyscale, brownleg, wormbone, sailor's bane, pus-eye, and yellowgum. All with a high lethality.
The fauna will not be discrimenated tho! There are basilisks, wyverns, lizardmen and giant apes amongst other dangers!
We follow the northern coast of Sothoryos to the west to discover that the whole continent seems to be a grand jungle, but there is in fact one place i wish to show you while here!
Once we reach the west sid of Sothoryos we will release the anchor and take a skip to land.
Before we enter the dense jungle i must fir warn you. The place we shall visit is so evil nothing grows there, no one lives there and like with Asshai it is completely built by an black oily rock. We enter the jungle to the south. Big white bats chases us even further south.
I raise my hand to stop us and points to the now visible desolate city of Yeen.
A place so evil we shall not venture fort but instead start walking northwest. Once back on the coast we will see Gogossos. The city ruins after the old kingdom of Ghis. Further beyond that we will see Toad island and tear island.
Our ship picks us up at the decaying harbour and we head west. There we see a set of islands called "the basilisk islands". We will quickly pass it since pirates often travels and lives there.
The island of Naath is the next place on our journey. Here lives a peaceful people who refuses to fight or battle.
All is not well tho. We can only stay here for a few hours otherwise we might contract the butterfly fever, Which symptoms are feeling ill, spasms and sweating blood amongst others.
We replentish our food storages and then we set sail once more. Before we keep heading west ill show a spot directly to the north on the southern border of Essos. There lies the once great kingdom of Valyria. Now only ruins filled with brindle men and sadness lives there.
To the southeast across the summer sea we find a set of island refereed to as the Summer islands. There lives a darkskinned tall folk which craft great wooden bows powerful enough to penetrate steel.
This was a common ground to find slaves which the gorvernment of Summer islands provided. A practice which ended when a rebellion of slaves shut it down.
Heading North we come across the step stones. Our boat is not ment for such narrow sailing so we shall not go through there. But if we would we would find the narrow sea which is the sea between Westeros and Essos. Even further we will come to the island Skagos which is directly to the west off the coast of the wall.
There lives a cannibalious people who used to practice raiding on the mainland the north. But the Starks put an end to it by destroying their boats and forbidding them to build new ones.
There is said to be unicorns on Skagos. I cannot confirm this tho.
Back to the stepstones. We travel west and passes the southern coast of Dorne.
After that we reach Oldstown on the southwestern edge of Westeros. The magnificent citadel is a wonder to behold.
Further up north we would reach Lannisport, then ironmans bay, The ice bay and lastly the lands of always winter.
Now now! Time for us to go on our true journey to the unknown in the west.
Elissa Farman apparently sailed there to never return. But according to one of her travelcompanions did return and told the story of 3 island at least a month's journey ahead of us.
We shall now set full sails and cross the Sunset sea!!!
Martin has left not stories but a legacy, an entire literary subgenre, something like Lovecraft. When Martin dies, many admiring writers and assistants will take his stories and continue publishing books.
Yi Ti: Ideal place for a novel with a political/courtesan plot
Sothoryos: Ideal place for a Verne or Salgari style travel and adventure novel
Asshai: Ideal place for a gothic or Lovecraftian horror novel

I really want to write a story about Ulthos and also the white waste.
Yeen is also a place which is of great interest!
Things i want HOD season 2/3 do:
-Show Sunfyre and Aegon riding into battle with it, specifically Sunfyre’s legendary bond and him taking down 3 black dragons.
2)Make Rhaenyra like in canon, because even her own allies stated she didn’t ride into battle but stayed put, if S1 is where you think Rhaenyra is all that, S2 is how she becomes Maegor with Tits and unworthy of the throne by it symbolically cutting herself on it.I want the right complexity and greyness that the canon is and GRRM’s style is.
3) Have Blood and Cheese, and make Daemon order it shown, it really isn’t unlike Daemon to do this and considering what he’s already done in the show and canonically mocked his brothers only son dying a day after the birth that killled his beloved wife, which is why Viserys made sure he could not inherit the throne, would be a good reminder that the black side isn’t any better then the greens.You don’t have to have Rhaenyra know about it, but personally I think the show kinda teased she might ask him to order it or be happy with it like Robert with Elia’s children dead, after all a eye for a eye, a son for a son.
4)Have the winter wolves appear and the badassery of them shown.
5) Show her other son going to Winterfell and getting Cregan’s aid, make Cregan the badass he is, I will not stand for him being flanderised or made into a Ned Stark clone, he was not a man of pure honour, he was a king in the north in all but title.
6)Also have Sara Snow, it would be really tragic as this could even explain why Lyanna fell for Rhaegar, if the tale of the dragon prince and the bastard stark girl and their tragic love story is known in the stark family, she may have grown up hearing it and so like Sansa may have been taken up with how life seemed to be going like a song for her.Lyanna was not Arya, Arya is something too wild and brutish even for a Mormont, even in the first book/season you see even Ned be pissed off at her and concern, like leaping to beat up her sister in front of the king and queen.
7)we see the Cannibal attack Silver Denys and his sons, he needs to appear.
8)See the Dragonseeds and their betrayal.
9)Have Rhaenyra go paranoid and mad, ordering the dragonseeds deaths even her own allies and have them all distance themselves from her, including Daemon.
10) show the fire wyrm hatch from the egg and bite Rhaena’’s arm as a baby, it’s really a sinister thing and if they want to show the idea the Maesters aren’t so nice this would be a perfect thing as you note the poisoned eggs and odd deformities.
11) Battle Between Gods eye.Daemon vs Aemon.
12) Storming of Dragonpit and her being called Maegor with Tits as well as being very unpopular.
13)Sunfyre eating Rhaenyra while her son watches.
14) Nettles appearing and flying to the Vale.
15) the Pact of Ice and Fire being made but Targaryens not living up to promise, foreshadowing that the north would gain much dislike for the targs as they bled and fought loyally all for a oath and the bethrothal and got the blacks their win yet got nothing in return from deal breakers.

Some readers even believe the Maesters had a hand in the Dragons downfall by slowly poisoning them over the years ascthe Maesters held very dogmatic views on things they didn't understand.

The greens didn't win because the war didn't end when Aegon murdered Rhaenyra, it ended when Aegon II died and Rhaenyra's son, the younger Aegon ascended the throne. No one "won" the war though, everyone lost .

the show does too much of rooting characters bad choices off the actions of others. Here and in Fire and Blood, the characters clearly make choices from their own stupidity/greed. Alicent is far more ferocious in the books. Rhaenyra too, way more ruthless and cunning. We're fine with grey heroes, don't water down George's well written dark characters or their evil

Him doing the right thing would be never remarrying and having male heirs that could weaken Rhaenyra’s position. That was the first fuck up. Another way to fix this would have been marrying Rhaenyra to Aegon, but again, nothing happened.

There was a leaked Cheese audition tape that surfaced a few months back with dialog from the Blood & Cheese scene where they hint at kidnapping the prince instead of killing him. Neither Aegon nor Rhaenyra were mad. It was the war that made them despicable beings. That is the saddest. I guess now you will see a cruel Rhaenyra who accepts the idea of Blood and Cheese. In turn, that episode will make Aegon, Aemond and Daeron more cruel.

So if you're gonna get technical ranerya did not hire blood and cheese.. daemon did. He was the one who sent out little birds asking for assassins and he was the one who gave them the order to kill a son. Ranerya only learned about what happened afterwards. She didn't know what daemond was going to do to avenge Luke. She was a mother herself and she loved Helena. She always referred to her as "my sweet sister" she would not have hired her son to be killed and I have no doubt ranerya would have stopped deond if she knew
The only reason people think she was involved is because she sent a letter to harrenhall saying that her son will be avenged. In the book it was said " the queen was grieft stricken after learning of the death of her son luceryus, the queen shut her self out in hrr quarters for a time, no one being able to tend to the mourning mother. Daemond took action immediately after hearing what happened while ranerya was grieving. When daemond sent that letter to ranerya, she thought daemond was going to kill aemond . At least that's how it is perceived in the books. He didn't give details on what he was planning to do. She just thought he would deal with the one who murdered her son (which he does that too as daemond is the one who kills aemond) her only fault here is she knew what daemond was. He was more snake than dragon. He was ruthless and cut throat and she should have told him not to do anything before they had their forces to get her and made a plan. But if anyone thinks ranerya would be content with the death of a child and especially a child of her sister who she loved dearly is drinking the Greens family Kool aid .
