- We here are going to compare the various designs and sizes of dragon heads seen in Game of thrones and House of the Dragon Tv shows which are in the same universe.
The dragons like Drogon, Viserion, Seasmoke and Dreamfyre have a similar facial structure while Sunfyre and Syrax are similar to each other in both the snout, skull frame and colour.
There are also Dinosaurian shape dragon heads like those of Vermax, Arrax and Vhagar. So lets get into it. - Zábava
4:18 imo vhagar's head design was clearly inspired by komodo dragons. It baffles me how so few people share the same thought
I actually really love Vermax, he looks soo cool in the show
Ye
He is going to prob die in season 2 if were lucky we might get to see more of him before he gets killed sorry for spoilers
my only problem with Vermax' design is his horns are too small, makes him look derpy lol
So danys three eggs come from dreamfyre right? People have been saying so which explains why they looks so similar.
Love these videos. Seems pretty accurate. Though I think you focus a bit too much on just the dragons' ages and don't take their circumstances over the years enough into account, especially because of how important that is when it comes to dragon growth. For example, I'm not so sure about Dreamfyre being bigger than Drogon. I think she's smaller judging by the scene in the pit. Just look at how short and thin her arms are compared to s7+ Drogon. If I'm not mistaken, Dreamfyre spent more than half of her life in the pit and rarely left. She was also described as a slender dragon who, despite being older than Vermithor, was considerably smaller than him. So she's probably a prime example of how locked up dragons end up with stunted growth.
I also noticed in multiple of your videos that you keep placing Viserion after Rhaegal in these size comparison lists, making it look like Viserion is the slightly bigger one of the two/the same size. But according to the books, Viserion is the smallest of Dany's dragons. Rhaegal is slightly bigger than him. It's not that big of a difference of course so no need to change the measurement estimates. But I think it'd be more accurate if you put Rhaegal after Viserion instead and mention the slight size difference.
I hate when people use the undead viserion as a example as if he wasn’t strong before
same
Same. He just didn’t have a rider same with Rhaegal.
Plus drogons head is not that big, caraxes head is way bigger than drogon and his siblings.
No it is not lol. We have direct comparisons between Drogons head and Jon snow and Caraxes head next to Daemon's. Kit Harningtn is 5'8" and Matt Smith is 6'0".
I'm assuming you're one of those fans who doesn't agree with the aging and growth choices made to Danys Dragons in the later season and can't seem to distinguish book canon from show canon.
Or you simply don't have eyes
@@agrimmeon9308 calm the fuck down😂😂😂
@@agrimmeon9308
Well, if we go by how Dragons tend to age, then we know some like Sunfyre were said to have grown quite a bit at a young age.
So, while it's clear the show runners wanted Drogon and his siblings to just be powerful and battle-ready in their size, we could discard the divine between show/book cannon by saying Drogon was like Sunfyre, in where the bond with their rider may have been so strong that perhaps it aided in their increasingly growing size.
So, while under normal circumstances one could argue that Caraxes should be a great deal bigger than Drogon, well.... yeah, Drogon was a big-boi. Caraxes wasn't even chained up as much as the likes of Syrax during his time with Aemon and then Daemon, but it could just be that we don't have accurate numbers for the measurements either
@@agrimmeon9308 caraxes is literally indirectly confirmed to be bigger than Drogon in show canon and book canon as well so maybe it’s you who need to get their eyes checked
@@devonpelley3832 yes caraxes is bigger than drogon in length but when it comes to body size drogon is bigger than caraxes and drgon head very much bigger than the caraxes if you have seen s8 drogon we can clearly see the difference of size between caraxes and drogon
I get a funny feeling looking at Meleys with only her head knowing what would happen to her head after Rook's Rest
And her head dragged on a cart through the streets of King's Landing, yeah that's gonna be sad to watch.
😭
How the manage to cut it though
@@Noone91875 They probably had Vhagar bite it off and then drop it.
@@MasterOfTheElements they even cut the balerion and vhagar skull so compared to them meleys is not a big concern
Drogon was significantly smaller than meleys and caraxes
L M A O. Have you not seen HOTD? He is clearly bigger than Meleys (Caraxes is longer but not much bigger). He is nowhere near “significantly smaller”, at best he’s the same size as them, but it’s evident that he’s slightly bigger than them
@@rylanhavranek892 Bro said clearly, are you an idiot ☠️ Caraxes and meleys are so much bigger we've literally seen them both in the dragon pit and in comparison to humans, both are so much bigger thwna drogon even look it up, or better yet watch the show
@@rylanhavranek892that’s actually not true. According to the books, dragon is not nearly as old as carafes or meyles. Dragons keep aging until they die so, if it weren’t for the show runners just making dragon big, it should not have been in such a close comparison to the great older dragons
@@esliaddaccount1 I understand that, but they broke that established lore by making Drogon colossal (which is fine bc he looked magnificent). They should have stuck to the scale and sized HOTD dragons up to compensate for this. Imagine what Vhagar would’ve looked like?
@@rylanhavranek892yea that’s true
i wonder how big meraxes wouldve gotten if she wasnt killed during the conquest
Balerion is now expected to be small than he was in the books. Because how would an auroch fit in that skull? It's so small
Caraxes often isn’t animated like he’s larger or weighs more than Drogon; even if he’s supposed to be bigger his physics don’t suggest to the viewer that he is the larger dragon. To the uninformed I think the confusion in scale is understandable
I love these size videos
NICE VIDEO ❤
this is so cool
Go go Godzilla ☮️ nice video ☮️🙏
Caraxes is not deformed. He's one of the 3 types of dragons.
He is deformed
He IS deformed, look it up.
Arrax and vermax are the what the “wolf skull” species are supposed to look like. Caraxes is deformed.
He is deformed!
He’s a deformed version of one of the 3 dragon types genius
How long is Smaug's head?
Remember that Drogons's size it's still the same he had in the Mereer's Flight scene
Please hotd and got dragons wing size comparison
Can’t wait to see cannibal
That wasnt Dreamfyre we saw in the pit, it was Seasmoke. You can tell by the wing colors. I dont get why people claim it was Dreamfyre when it has never been stated as such
Yeah and he was the one behind Sunfyre too at Driftmark. Because that dragon was waaay to small and Dreamfyre should be a bit bigger than Meleys but smaller than Vermithor and Vhagar.
It was dreamfyre because after 101AC seasmoke was never chained in dragonpit so if he wasn't how could he be the one aemond saw
@@prasad9417 But if Laenor was in King's Landing then wouldn't Seasmoke be there too? Also Helaena is already bonded with Dreamfyre why would she try to kill her rider's sibling? Also Dreamfyre is known to be pale blue with silver markings, that dragon looked like it could have grey scales with orange wings.
@@MasterOfTheElements🤦♂ I forgot it was seasmoke i observed it in slow motion now
@@prasad9417 👍
How is caraxes head only 7 to 8 ft when he has a head that is coser to 10 to 12 when he is side by side with daemon
People underestimate the size of caraxes it's because his head doesn't protrude out from his neck like the other dragons, his head has like the same circumference as his neck, that scene your probably talking about when he threatens those two soldiers , we really see how big his head is when he is side by side with daemon
@@moutsydumezweni2915 But Caraxes is longer than Drogon so it doesn't matter if his head is smaller.
@@MasterOfTheElements drogon in the tv show is much bigger than is posibly from a dragon, 4 years that syze is imposible, in the books are the syze of the arrax and a litle small than arrax
Can you make a video explaining the cannibal dragon in more detail
there's like nothing written about it lol
There are not many details about Cannibal apart from the fact that he was so called because he ate smaller dragons and that he was the largest WILD dragon. He was also said to have killed and eaten Grey Ghost, another wild dragon, but it was actually Sunfyre (who was already badly wounded, by the way). It is likely that he died of old age.
John is also like super short
Drogon is one of the smallest dragons. Drogon, Viseron and Rhaegal are smaller then Vermax, Arrax and Tyraxes for those who don’t know those are Rhaenyras three children (Jace, Luke and Joffreys) dragons.
not in show canon they're not lol
@@olivarryflarrow4681 Yes they are. Show is absolutely garbage at showing off their size. It’s because we don’t have side by side comparisons but Drogon and his brothers are smaller than you think.
@@princedaemontargaryen4971 That's why I said SHOW canon. I realize book canon is different(and hasn't gotten as far in the story seeing as the show finished and the books are still going) but in SHOW canon, Dany's 3 are larger. Also there's no official sizes for Arrax, Vermax, and Tyraxes. All it says about Tyraxes is that he was "thriving and growing larger every year" and that he was slightly smaller than Arrax and Vermax. All 3 of which were only just large enough to carry a rider for longer stretches of time but not battle-size yet. All 3 of them were also kept in the dragon pit. Whereas we actually have a canon size for Drogon in the books. He is stated to have a roughly 20ft(6m) wingspan as of the end of the last book. Dany's dragon, unlike the other 3 smaller ones, weren't kept in captivity until much later in their lives either. And Drogon not at all. Whereas Arrax, Vermax, and Tyraxes were kept in the dragon pit, which we know stunts their growth as they grow larger when they are free. Plus it's canon in the books that magic swept back into the world with the hatching of Dany's dragons, which would also effect their growth rates(probably accelerating them) so I wouldn't be surprised if Dany's 3 WERE bigger, or at least the same size as, Arrax and his brothers.
@@olivarryflarrow4681 Drogon had 20-23 ft wingspan at less than 2 years of age. We saw Vermax around 8 years old in episode 6, he was a size of pony. Drogon in the show is around 7 years old, btw. If dragons grew 10 ft in a year, he could have reached 70 ft wingspan at 7 years old.
So my point is, if we extrapolate his BOOK size to his possible future book size at 7-8 years old, he might be very big, bigger than average dragons of this age.
@@princedaemontargaryen4971 season 8 drogon was only a bit smaller than caraxes, he was dwarfing arrax and vermax. The books are likely going to end with drogon outgrowing them by a large margin as well. They're just young in the books.
is the sunfyre's skull that you've showed real?
It's a fan art. Based on concept art.
Y'all love comparing head sizes holy shit.
Vhagar inspired by real life komodo dragon
Balerion's skull is 9 meters long
i think caraxes head is way bigger than what youve shown... esp the scene of daemon caressing its face
What About Cannibal...
We don’t know what cannibal looks like yet
The dragons from Vox Machina are the coolest
What about The Canibal
Wrong the cannabal is the biggest
Yes he is larger than balerion
No he is not he is the largest of the wild dragons and there's a rumor by the smallfolk that be was larger and had been there before the Targaryens but that is just nonsense
Lmao it’s never said that he was larger than Balerion. Just that he ate small dragons and eggs. Being a cannibale doesn’t automatically make them the biggest XD
He is said to be the largest of the WILD dragons, not of all dragons, that title always goes to Balerion.
The fact rhaegal and drogon are bigger then caraxes really annoy me
Not in the books ,they are smaller in books
Cannibal?
LOL did really need to mention PINK FURY. PINK FURY was legends just like CANNIBAL.😂
Drogon is a male dragon right?
Yes as of now. In univers they only know if a dragon is male or female by if they lay eggs whichnon of danys have. But there is a theory in the world(I personally don't back but to each there own) that suggest they can change gender, "as changeable as flame" But it was said by a non Targaryen so I don't gold much to it

I think Drogan can kill Caraxe
Think again
If we follow the shows, Drogon is only bigger than the dragons of the children of Rhaenyra and MAYBE Syrax. But in the books all the dragons of the Dance of Dragons are older and bigger than Drogon. Caraxes was able to kill Vhagar while Vhagar was killing Caraxes, Drogon was incapable against Viserion.
I’m just saying because he’s brave and my favorite dragon so if caraxes is ur favorite then hood for you 😃
It's Caraxes's and Meleys's***
