We could believe they ran from the walkers for half a day. And stayed on the island for the evening to the afternoon. Or.. it could be 5 days.. and the night king just waited on the dragon to come, and the editing really fucked that up. Hell.. I could have done better.. they could have found a weertree cave thing and hide in it's magic, or they coulda sent fast feet to eastwatch when they ran into the sabercat. I think videos such as this one show exactly how remarkable George R.R Martins actual GoT series is, not to mention his mind for actually coming up with such things. People discussing it, actually talk about the places, people and history, as if it is all actual real world, or something which has really happened. It is believable too, when you hear such discussions, debates, etc and you would actually think the stuff really happened, or was going on now. It really is brilliant how such things can happen when talking about a totally factious world and the people, history, wars and stuff which happened in it.

The world and history are so interesting in this. I'd love a game or something on all this. Or maybe multiple TV shows depicting different time periods. I'd love to learn more about Valyria before it got destroyed, or why and how Asshai and Stygai exist and who created them. And the old on earth from YiTi or the people who might have lived in the city from the thousand islands. SO MUCH lore. Or even the peoples or gods or species that used to live in Sothoryos. There seems to be so much more there and for such a massive continent you'd expect some history and lore. And there's fucking Ulthos. So much lore that could be explored.
And then there's the fact that as a whole we know so little about the world of GoT. There could be hundreds of other continents and peoples and races and species that we never see.

Jesus Christ, this map is so vast and has so many different races and factions going in it looks like GRRM planned it to be a 20 book series or making 4-5 different series out of it.
I knew Essos was large but I didn't even see a map showing that we only knew like 50% of it's western half of it and I've never heard or seen anything about those other 2 contintents at all. I must admit I have only read the first two books so far.

This video is awesome because it makes it easy to see how Martin used the real world as inspiration for the GoT world. GRRM confirmed he used the war of the roses as a baseline for GoT. Using that fact, you can see that Westeros is the UK, the Iron Islands is Ireland, and Scotland is the North. My favorite overlap is how its pretty obvious that Valyria is the Roman Empire. Fits perfectly with both the description of the civilization AND its location. Which means Ghis is either referring to the Persian Empire or a combination of the Persian Empire/Greece (basing that on skin color/cultural description, location of both places, and the name Ghis and Greece. Also Persia hit its peek basically right before Rome started doing its thing so that fits perfectly with both real life and GoT as well.) Like I said...this video is super cool lol.

I hate how everyone depicts westeros as only the british isles if that was the case then how do you explain the similarities between dorn and spain, iron isles and denmark, the north and scandanavia .... just because they all speak english doesnt mean they are from england

I love how many of these places reflect real history. Westeros is similar to the British isles and the first men and andals were like invaders from mainland Europe, and the children of the forest are like the Celts. The Summer Isle reminds me of Japan, both their fates changed when an explorer’s vessel wandered into their harbors. The Dorne land bridge that used to connect Westeros with Essos is like the land bridge that connected Asia and North America.of course, Valyria was the Roman Empire of A World of Ice & Fire.
