The fake baby is the best part of this movie.
Everyone should be apologizing to this movie's baby doll after seeing the CG ones in The Flash.
If I remember the excuses, the baby was sick or fussy and wasn't available, but they wanted to film that part anyway, so they used the fake.
I remember everyone talking about it like it was yesterday.
It's the only thing I know about this movie other than the cast.

Yeah. No wonder Eastwood's movies come in under budget. It's because he's... not a good director. That doesn't necessarily mean any individual movie is bad, just that Eastwood's part in making it was poorly performed. Luckily a good actor can sometimes make up for a bad director, even one like Eastwood.
Nah. At the end of the day, all Hollywood cares about is MONEY. That's why Stephen Spielberg said he was a great director ... because money.

Not the only one ! I watched it in 2022 when it was on tv. I's the kind of blockbuster that's predictable and full of movie clichés, but it's nice to watch to turn your brain off or to have fun criticizing it with your friends/familly 😄

My dad took me and my sisters to see Battleship when it came out. I thought it was pretty cool. But I, too, would like an honest trailer for it.

In all fairness, deployments are really just one long string of dick jokes. So that was actually the most accurate part of the whole movie.

There’s a guy who’s been going around the US for decades teaching that exact philosophy to police departments. He calls it “Killology”.
Dave Grossman, look him up. Odds are good the next cop you interact with was taught by him or someone like him.

I think the wolves-sheep-sheepdogs thing is at its core a good philosophy. There are definitely predatory people. There are definitely people who are weak or gullible or naive or otherwise easy victims for predators that have to be protected. People with strength and wisdom have a moral obligation to protect the weak from predators.
But I agree there are numerous problems with the potential applications and implications.
It can be applied in bad ways. For example, if you decide everyone of a certain ethnic group is a predator, or that all women are vulnerable sheep.
The choice of sheep implies, intentionally or not (probably intentionally), that those people are not simply vulnerable but mindless.
It can also be interpreted to suggest that roles are in our nature and permanent - that a sheep is naturally a sheep and will always be a sheep and can never become a sheepdog, etc.
There's also the problem with the metaphor. Amongst animals, predators are natural. Real wolves should be predators and real sheep should be prey. If all the real wolves were wiped out that would be a bad thing for the natural environment. In contrast, human predators should not exist; they are an abomination.
@@JimmySailor and so? Killing is something every cop must be prepared to do. I’ve read Grossman’s book and he makes some solid observations based on extensive research. I think people who laugh at scenes like this one about sheep and wolves laugh because deep down they know they’re in the sheep category

The part about invading Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia was pretty funny, but also slightly depressing.
I hate to correct honest trailers but that part was incorrect. The US went to Afghanistan immediately after 9/11/2001 but didn't go to Iraq til 2003 because of "weapons of mass destruction" and removing Saddam out of power. Basically finishing the unfinished business of the first gulf war

Fun fact. Bradly Cooper didn't voice young Rocket. Instead, along side doing all the Rocket Mo-cap, it was Sean Gunn that voiced young rocket (although Noah Raskin voiced baby Rocket version) in Guardians 3.

@@MrSplic3rtop and right do elevation and wind respectively. Parallax is typically located on the left. Focus is usually the small ring closest to the shooter by the optical lens. Magnification is on the tube.

Would you believe this was the highest-grossing domestic film of 2014 in the US? More than GotG, Winter Soldier, DoFP, Mockingjay 1, LEGO, or the last Hobbit movie! Makes you wonder what other movies made surprisingly large amounts of money in their day...

Nope. On the day of filming, Baby #1 was out sick and Baby #2 never showed up to set so they had to use a prop.
