It wasn’t just avoiding the cake that saved him life. His daughter couldn’t make pancakes because they didn’t have flour, they turn down their neighbor offer of biscuits and Sarah didn’t eat the neighbor cookies because they had raisins in it lol
I would like to think that in the Last of Us world Peter Jackson is still travelling the world, showing them his extended cut of Return of The King for people who needed closure

I’m so glad someone else pointed out the “Return of the King” bit! I’ve been thinking about and mentioning that 😂😅 It just sucks that in that reality, it was even filmed, but not released, which means the non-extended version film is sitting out there somewhere on the LoU reality 😄
It exists in the game reality. Outbreak day happened in 2013. They changed it in the show for some reason.

"Zaddy Day Care" killed me. You guys did a great job with all of the gamer jokes, too. "Live a Full Life" and "All Cutscenes 4k" were probably my favorite.

I LOVED the puns in the games and the dialogue around them.. It absolutely fit perfectly with the characters personalities and the sick, twisted themes of the games. I agree, NO SHOW should depend on puns for humor, but I think they would have seriously detracted from it if they crammed in jokes. Marvel freaking does that, and it makes it impossible to take anything meaningful seriously. I have no idea what values tony stark or capn stand for or what they actually want, even though they say it in literally every movie. They just seem like action movies with likeable characters🤷♂

That the real zombie cure was the friends they made along the way, is absolutely my favorite thing in this video! Just got over the cold from hell, and that got me laughing and coughing so much! It was the best.

I ended up playing the game soon after I finished the show. I set allies and resources to very light but everything else to grounded. It was a lot of fun.

I adore Pedro Pascal's version of Joel. His dynamic with Ellie and his guarded nature is only strengthened by his passive rage, which is both terrifying and riveting.

That's a grudging, mate. It's based on the books, on which the games are also based on. Although the Witcher series strayed so far from the source material, at this point it's arguable if they're "based" on anything at all.
Facts
Not grudging at all. The show was very obviously based much more on the games than on the books. For one thing more than half the characters in the books look next to nothing like their game/show counterparts do....

This show is very food heavy. I remember in like the second ep when Joel, Tess, and Ellie are starting their journey west and they stop to sleep somewhere and eat. Tess pulls out a baggie of sad looking jerky and tells Ellie that she can share with her Joel. But Ellie's like, "Thanks, Marlene packed me something," and pulls out a sandwich. Cue Tess, "Oh my god, is that chicken?"

The show is fantastic, so my only gripe is that Joel and Ellie never faced off with a Bloater. We get a 5-second clip of a Bloater ripping a guy’s head off (that guy is actually the VA for Tommy in the original game), then we don’t see it again.
