  • Let's see how this grab bag went... but my grab bags are here: treasuretownyt.com/shop/. We spent $96 on a grab bag that definitely had some interesting coins in it and was probably better than the average one... but there were also some notable features that I want to discuss. Obviously we got some silver and some gold as the listing claimed but there were also some potentially valuable coins that were strange when it came to actually evaluating them. Let me know how you think the grab bag went and if I was treated fairly!

Before you buy anything on eBay, check the seller's feedback! And don't buy anything from outside the U.S., especially from China. You valued the "grab bag" higher than I would have. You can score some bargains on eBay. but look for mixed lots where you can see the coins before you buy them. I hope you left negative feedback for this seller.

I actually started screaming when I saw the price tag on that 1959 Deutsche Mark! They’re worth between 30-50 cents in VF-XF and maybe you can wriggle $10 out of a better date proof.

Loved the honest video showing that there are lot of crooked EBay sellers selling grab bags. Another item that's crooked is unsearched rolls. Buyer beware. I have seen that type of packaging frequently before. The only coin that was nice was the NGC dollar but I don't collect modern coins. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.

Thank you for these videos! They go a long way to educate new folks and can be equal parts comedy and frustration to people who actually know their coins/currency somewhat. If it was already mentioned in the comments, I apologize, but the 1915 Cuba 5 Centavos is Cu-Ni.

Love that 100 yen! Japan also did a 1000 yen silver coin for the olympics that year too, the only 1000 yen coin to ever circulate, although most were hoarded within a few years. They are still monetized too, so technically like $9 face value, although the metal is worth near twice that alone now.

That 1947 D Quarter looks to have a Counter Clockwise Rotation. That's what the CCW on the back is for I believe

The 1926 sixpence is only 50% not .925 so another lie from them

Christian, if you can put together a grab bag of old silver US coins, I'd be interested. They don't even have to be in good shape either. Silver is Silver. Great video as always. You never cease to amaze.
