  • The Dr Heater Infrared Heater 968 Review, These are great Heaters. I bought these Units from Amazon now I have two. The Dr. Heaters work, I would use with a Surge Protector for added protection; it has safety features if tip-over. They blow some hot air, But the wood is not hot to the touch just mildly warm, But the front heat port gets hot. These also make gifts, in my opinion.

    I have owned this heater for maybe a month and a half and am very satisfied. Mine has the auto setting (not eco) . Heat coming out is very hot. I heat my bedroom and bathroom with it's heater with the rooms closed from the rest of the house. Saving me money on propane that's for sure.

    I’m looking for a heater for our den (which is about 600 ft with high vaulted ceilings) & sunroom (about 400 ft.) We have central heating in our other rooms but these two have no CHA vents with many windows & skylights. Based on your review I think this heater will do the job & am planning to purchase it. Thank you very much & have an excellent New Year!

    I just got one... After reading mixed reviews I took a chance. The only drawback is that it only has 2 wattage settings where as I would prefer 900/1200/1500 instead of 1000/1500. If you have any problems with yours can you do a follow-up.

    I was born in New Albany, Ind. 😃 Live in KS now. Anyhow is this the only heat source you have and do you have an upstairs or downstairs apt? And do you run it constantly? Was wanting something to heat house. Central heating unit not going to last much longer.

    • @IndianaDiy
      @IndianaDiy  Před 3 lety

      Cool, As far as the heater, I filmed that in an apartment 1 level no upstairs. I bought a house, and what we did in the apartment and the house is just supplemented heat from the furnace. Now I did have a furnace go out, and I had to rig up a natural gas blue flame heater for 2 winters; that sucked. I have videos on a propane blue flame and a natural gas blue flame heater, BUT if you do that, have someone install it; otherwise, Insurance may not cover in case of fire.
      I am currently building a solar furnace for winter to put on my house, I will be making a video on it, but it will not be done for some time.

    I bought this 988A fan "Brand New in box" from a guy that didn't understand the voltage requirements. I hired an electrician to wire me in a 240 outlet, the fan didn't turn on but the heater did, the electrician checked voltage it was good. I called for support and sent a picture of the new serial number, they first said oh the fan is only for cooling, i said no its not... they came back and said no receipt no help. So i pulled the fan and found the outside coil wire broke off so i repaired that and still no fan. I called again and they said okay well help you out and sell you a fan if you pay the shipping, well i'm in Canada and the shipping was around US$60 plus the fan would be about C$100 so i called again, they said they would give me a flat $25 fee if i gave my contact number. I thanked them and gave my number to contact me... no one ever called... i got frustrated and scrapped the product and told them... then they finally called me 7 days later and tried to sell me a fan for a scrapped heater. That's the story terrible service.
