I left EU4 running for a week straight - AI Only Timelapse

  • The game never crashed but I did reset it once because it seemed like the AI got confused.
    Some answers for weird stuff:The HRE formed a PU over Russia, that's how it disappeared. It took hundreds of years even with the insane diplomatic reputation bonuses because they kept running out of diplo points.
    The HRE stopped expanding after that because of governing capacity. It seems like AI WC is impossible now unless something changes.
    The HRE also kept declaring war on Great Britain and then losing because they couldn't conquer London. They also fought a ton of wars in the new world, which was mostly controlled by a Christian Illinois. Eventually Illinois fell under a PU and was integrated as well.
    Great Britain never integrated Scandinavia because it had fewer provinces. Apparently that's a thing now.
    I'm honestly very surprised by the amount of culture conversions. It seems like the AI now is very willing to do them if it has enough diplo points.
    There is no real mod to share with this one, I just changed the defines file to have the end year be 9999 instead of 1821. I would love to see this all the way to the end and see what happens, but the game had slowed down significantly. At the start photos are 15 seconds apart and at the end they are 65. It would have taken another few weeks to reach the end of the game and I run these timelapses on my only computer. Maybe someday if I get a dedicated timelapse machine I'll do a month run and see what happens.
    If you read this far and have any ideas for fun timelapse ideas, let me know in the comments! I'd love to hear them. Next week will be an interesting one!
    One last thing to note:I'm aware of the strobbing and it will hopefully be fixed in later videos.

      Also this is just general PDX AI stupidity, the AI has no sense for the degrees of victory or defeat in and in every game will completely ignore capability for a comeback. Its a dumb design but the AI was only ever designed to achieve a minimal "victory" peace deal under its own volition and it will almost never do much else. (probably because PDX doesn't like shortchanging the players in massive wars, even though they shortchange them in so many other ways that makes that case utterly irrelevant)

      @Spartan322 Před 3 lety +19

      @@rovsea-3761 Bit ironic that massive historical events that are suppose to be emulated and demonstrated with events and missions deliberately don't happen constantly, but then so much of the game tries to simulate and abstract anything and everything without a single detail, (constantly as the cost of historical accuracies) all so it can play as generic as possible. It unfortunately makes much of the game very generic in itself and makes the AI very static, this is one of the reasons I often say and think of EU4 as way overscoped and even beyond both overdesigned and way underdeveloped.
