      The AI plays nuts. Play a normal game, then change your tag with console command. More often than not, the random AI country you picked has too much army spendings, not enough money, instability... But somehow it works for them but not for you. The AI cheats to be on par with real players, like in almost every strategy games sadly.

    • @exantiuse497
      @exantiuse497 Před 3 lety +27

      It doesn't, it's because of the mod. You can try it out in a vanilla game, set the notification option for bankrupty to pop-up for all countries, then let the game run. You won't get this many notifications, especially not for large and rich countries like England and Ottomans
      The AI probably has high priority to buy land (the mechanic to buy and sell provinces exists in the vanilla game already and I assume the mod utilises the same mechanic). So when a big country goes bankrupt all its neighbors take massive loans to buy up as much land as possible, which then causes them to go bankrupt as well. That's why you see countries quickly swelling up and then falling to the bank on the video

    This is a really neat idea, though it really seems to cause a lot of instability right now. Is there any chance this idea will be developed on in the future? For instance, maybe cap the amount of time the bank can hold on to cores before it forms nations from them and releases them. It'd be a good way to prevent them from selling other countries into bankruptcy or just disrupting the game for too long.

It was pawned mostly to German princes from Holstein, rather than Pomerania, who then repawned it to other people. Luckily Prince Valdemar, the last king’s son, was close to Holy Roman Emperor Ludwig IV, who helped him start retaking Denmark. Valdemar united the kingdom again by purchases, wars, and various sneaky dealings.

    I noticed that, over time, Europe stabilized itself and by the late game there were no foreclosures.
    An idea for the mod: Regional bank tags instead of one global tag. A Bank tag for each continent.
    Also for banking colonial nations? Lean into it and make them act like a sort of temporary colonial bank tag.

    Be the Bank:
    1. Gives unsecured loans to both sides of a war via treasury notes, ensuring the borrowers that the treasury notes’s value in precious metals is kept within your vaults for “security purposes on their behalf”.
    2. watch as already unstable nations quickly expand their militaries to fight armies you’ve completely funded.
    3. Seize the land of the borrowers for defaulting on loans, watch as peasants burn bank notes for warmth.
    4. Print more inky paper to give to the next borrower.
    The Bank totally isn’t OP!!!

    I really like this idea, but think it could be better executed if the bank only took a number of provinces equal to the outstanding debt. Like if you own 100 provinces, but only own 1000 ducats, then they take 10 of them instead of your whole empire. They still sell them over time, giving you the chance to buy them back maybe, but your neighbors can also easily buy them up.
