When the show told you, "Fuck prophecy," you should have listened.
@@Tamlinearthly Fans aren't mad because "the prophecy wasn't fulfilled". Fans are mad because ALL the setup for this show was thrown in the trash this season.
Arya killing the Night King wouldn't have been a problem if there was enough setup for the event. Melisandre saying "you will close brown eyes, green eyes and blue eyes" isn't enough setup.
This line wasn't even originally meant to hint that Arya would join the fight agaisnt the dead, when Melisandre said it to Arya the first time a few seasons ago. The writers conveniently reused that line, just like they intentionally hid or discarded other important hints and plot points, for the sake of having this season make some sort of sense.

But they come back to life when she burned Kong’s landing lol
I'm glad you brought up Ned's death, because for me it was an important moment for the show's stakes. I remember seeing Joffrey order his death and thinking "this is just stupid. Hello there
How and why are you everywhere?
So uncivilized
"John has survived so many unsurvivable situations lately that it's getting hard to care when he's in danger" exactly 😂😂😂
His plot armor over the last few season was so obvious I was actually convinced it would lead up to a plot twist where the Lord of Light was actually legit and directly protected him to fulfill the Azor Ahai prophecy. Turns out it was bad writing all along :/
@@saammmy7 that is sooo true, I felt so disappointed on this
The plot armor would've at least been understandable if Jon had ended up being "destined" all along to be this great, prophesied hero that would save all of the world from darkness. But nah. It's Arya, because...reasons.
This is too real
I remember the part when Jon was chasing the Night King and the Night King resurrected all the soldiers that died in the battle, and Jon was completely surrounded. I thought the Night King was allowing them to surrender and the wights weren't going to attack, because there's no way Jon was going to escape that horde of wights. Then a bit later you see he somehow fought them all off and I was so confused.
You know why I like this review/rant?
It's subdued. No raging, no screeching, just neutral tone sarcasm and skepticism
*You know what is the most shocking about the Dothraki charge?*
None of the Dothraki had dragon glass or valyrian steel. They were planning on charging them in alone and with no actually useful weapons.
Yeah, it is actually pretty fucked up.
Even more fucked up. She owned the mine to make weapons for her soldiers she could've been making weapons all along.
@@tyrannus1987 yeah but she didnt know about the dead before and that dragonglass could kill them. So no point in making dragonglass weapons before. Also she literally made it to dragonstone like 4 episodes before jon so.
Yeah they were planning on sending them to their deaths. Even if they had bran explain that the red witch has other plans for the dothraki, i would understand but the writers are not as smart
Maybe Danny is just *that* stupid and it was a ploy to get rid of her army? Well still didn't make any sense... since even if, it would have strengthed the enemy, the one that was supposed to matter...
I can actually feel you struggling to not be negative.
He’s been holding it back for years. But now everyone will see. You can’t hide it anymore.
The end remarks are highly bitching, tbh, it's called Game of Thrones after all and the show got most of their viewers thanks to the heavy political drama and gore aftermath.
The book series are titled in a whole other sense, tho.
3 episodes left, we will see.
Let's be honest. There was going to be criticism no matter what the ending was or will be. Imagine Jon and Dany bravely fighting and getting to the wood at the last moment to kill the Night King and save the world. An entire army of angry fans would have rage because of the predictability of that ending. To be honest I liked the episode. I liked the fact that Arya killed him. It would've been more epic if she would've died while killing him though. Just my opinion.
@FairUseMe - lol - I read your post in the voice of Emperor Palpatine... and added "give in, give in to the negative side and feel your POWER growwwwwww..."

@@TheSorrel I wish, but after all this night king stuff for 7 seasons, I would be lying if I said its a whole lot more interesting than cersei ever was, even more so now that she is just a pregnant alcoholic.
@@TheSorrel We still have 3 episodes, hopefully Alt shif is right and they're just playing with us and some big plot twist happens who knows, miracles happen
Definitely not.

if arya is the embodiment of death, jon is the embodiment of plot armor
Sam really gives him a run for his money though. Jon fights to survive, Sam can cry and repel the army of the dead piling up on top of him. If that's not plot armor, I don't know what is ahah.
Normally I'd agree. But Jon wouldn't even be in the running for the award for most plot armor in this episode. Anyone on the ground that survived would be a far better candidate.
What about Cersei?? she literally lost her whole army in the siege of high garden she has no allies out of gold mines but still comes up with ways to fool even the most clever people on the show.Even her little tricks got to have a limit.
Arya is also the embodiment of plot armour!!
Arya isn't the embodiment of Death imo. She is a blasphemer against Death. Her lust for vengeance will have consequences. Just as it did when she was training in the HoB&W, and Jaqen had to drink the poison to redress the balance for her crimes against their god. So I don't think her killing the Night King is the victory she thinks it is...
GRRM must be soo mad with what the show turned out LOL
Well it's his own fault in a way for not finishing the series. He had 8 years to write two books and couldn't even produce one lol
He wipes his ass with stacks of Benjamins because of this show. I'm sure he's pissed.
GRRM said during an interview in front of a live audience that if he wanted to "subvert expectations", he could have aliens invade Westeros. In the same interview, he also made a very poignant statement about how he could foreshadow things very strongly, but then never give a payoff to that foreshadowing and that wouldn't be good. He then said "the show is the show and the books are the books". He definitely hates what the show has done to his life's work.
Tomn8er you clearly have no idea about this man’s writing
Almost 10 years still no winds of winter.

Melisandre: Hold my beer

More like GRRM: "Oh well I cant finish any books in less then a decade, but you should in a few years. Good luck suckers."
Well played 😂
GRRM secretly wants the TV series to fail, so people get closure in the books instead, right?
@Annalisa Zucchi What do you mean?
It's amazing how you can kill nearly a decade of hype and excitement in only 90 minutes.

You can hear the disappointment and his spirits breaking
For good reason, the episode was underwhelming.
It's really sad to see. He's been keeping it together these past seasons, but I noticed last season he was a little more critical of the show than he usually was in the previous season explained videos, and it's been increasing to this "climax." I really hope the next three episodes are worth watching. The only way they could salvage it at this point would be to introduce democracy to the iron throne, which is a theory I've had since Dany told Daario to help Mereen become a republic, and I think they teased that last season when Tyrion was nagging Dany about needing an heir, when he mentioned other peoples and their ways of choosing heirs (all of which were semi-democratic)
I mean, yeah. That was episode just took a giant dump on the last 7 seasons of world and character building. I respect the cinematography and how much work went into that episode. But the episode is like what a person who’d never watched the show or read the books would write if they were given the cliff notes of the story. Bad writing and rich with corny ass moments.
This show could have gone down as one of the greatest of all time.

When the book comes out in like 16 years, I wonder how long the war with the others is actually going to be. It’s probably going to be a multiple year long struggle with many deaths and sacrifices. I actually pity George for having to write such an important and difficult book. There’s so much riding on it, and if he messes up; all the fans will be furious. I definitely don’t blame him for taking his time.
the fact that the book takes so long makes me confident he's not gonna mess up

The greatest mystery is all of GoT is how Sam survived that episode.
Every time he got hurt Snorlack just used rest to recover, wight dps was too low to counter his strat.
Because plotarmor, because he has to write everything down for future generations, because lazy writing.
Because the nk doesnt want his fat ass on his time so the wights didnt bother killing him
Remember when trump made fun of that crippled reporter?

@@valleyscharping Rick and Morty. But it’s definitely something I could imagine Charlie saying too lol
This made Rian Johnson give a sigh of release.
Youre not alone, Rian, youre not alone.
And the sad part is, the writers actually made us wait an entire extra year for the “long awaited final season” so that they could do the best job they could and not make the audience disappointed with haste writing.... and now they’ve disappointed us with bad writing... and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was haste writing as well. At least it looks like that. So sad.
Not haste. Hack. George RR Martin, they are not.
It took an extra year because of production, not writing. You also have to keep in mind that whatever they write, HBO gets the final say in everything because they decide what they can pay for, what they'd rather pay for and what they'd rather not bother with. If they wrote quickly, it's because they had to make deadlines so that people could start planning for production which, I'm sure you can imagine, would be crazy amounts of work and very time consuming. Also, remember there are 3 episodes left and it will be easier to judge this episode in the grand scheme of things later.
Krystin Black that’s true! Let’s hope now that the remaining episodes are good and maybe involve a good plottwist or anything. We need it haha
And they took all that sweet time to record in 3 locations /facepalm
What is happening to Tullys why weren't they summoned to the notrh? Who is in charge of remaining...4 kingdoms? Or are the people there just relaxing aboug enjoying the winter?
HBO had a contract with Amazon that when any series finished, Amazon could air it on Prime Video. That contract expired at the end of 2018. So my guess is it wasn’t the more time for writing but the massive amounts of money it would save HBO by not going to Prime.
Bran : I hold the world's memory and history
The Citadel : Am I a joke to you?
Great point 😃 Makes everything even worse
Actually the citadel records their own version of it. Bran knows the truth...
Yeah, it's implied that the Citadel are conspirators. Also, Books and History is always written by Winners and usually doesn't tell the entire truth.
@@jernie9384 that's a fair point that bran can go back in time and look and the undeniable truth, where as the citadels history is passed down through generations and can get distorted overtime.

Alt Shift made an interesting video about this. The Archmasters seemingly want to abolish Magic, so I would love to see what happens when they hear about Bran.
The dolthraki had zero dragonglass or VS either.... good thing the plot allowed the red women to show up or they wouldn't have been able to do anything lol not like they did anything anyways but still... and then the wights can't break out of a wooden box last season but the cement tombs they have no problem?
They mined all that dragonglass on dragonstone in season 7 for what?!
But that were *Stark* wrights mind you.
These are the 2 points that really make me crazy. I'm sure the Dothraki thing was done just bc it looked cool but it didn't have to be so incredibly stupid. Same with the crypts. It was done just so we'd falsely worry for those main characters but again, ridiculous. Outstandingly low effort by writers of the episode and production as well.
It is later revealed they sent the Dothraki to die so they would come back as Night King's soldiers, lowering his whole army's IQ to the point they would all charge to the fire trenches and die. But the Night King proved he was smart and didn't raise them back until near the end of the battle. When he lost.
Wights can be killed with anything, but fire is best. It's only the white walkers that can only be killed with dragon glass or valerian steel.

These last second saves are an absolute joke at this point.
@@natehorne1763 what are you talking about? Is he psychic, too? How could he have possibly known what Arya was going to do?
That screaming at the zombie dragon should have been his end. But no, plot armour to the rescue.
See if he's just going to survive everything, why just NOT have him put in unsurvivable positions to start with. Why not just have him do anything else other than be saved at the very last instant again and again and again?
Part of the appeal of this show was how your actions had consequences.
It was cringe worthy af when Jon did that. I actually felt embarrassed for Kit Harrington.
@@natehorne1763 Yeah, no he wasn't. Watch again with subtitles. If that's not enough, consider that unless Arya can literally teleport then helping her get past wouldve still been far too late to get out to the godswood, sneak past as she somehow did and then leap. All before he draws his weapon.
