People complain about no tone knob on the OD-1, sometimes when you build/design these overdrive pedals adding that extra tone knob makes your pedal sound totally generic. Just plug into a fender blackface, the tonestack is directly after the first gain stage. (Which makes it suck for making its own crunch like a Marshall) but makes it so you can eq the pedal from the amplifier.

Great tone! I like your chops too. Sounds like real guitar and not sterile freeze dried licks!

What's the serial on the OD-1? Would be nice to know which chip we hearing. Probably a JRC being a short dash.

The good news is that you can get into the OD-1 ballpark for $50 or so with the SD1.
No its not as good but for me good enough until i can come across one of the OG overdrives..
(Not sure about OD3? maybe more bass but less mids ?)

Od 1 and sd 1 is good, but sd 1 has tone kontrol.

Everyone comparing the OD-1 to the OD-3 is out of their minds, they are two totally different circuits, OD-3 doesn’t have mid boost the SD-1 and OD-1 do.

OD-1 (of course) by all major parameters
, , sounds more expensive , transparent , thicker , authentic . SD-1 .. excellent pedal ( I own it myself ) but , of course , not that . And it 's ( probably ) in the timbre adjustment - convenient , but too poisonous and suffocating . Although SD-1 is a great booster.

OD-1 all day for me. Never been a fan of the SD-1. Although the OD-3 is my favorite one I have. Sounds a lot like the OD-1 here but with a tone knob and a wider gain range.

OD1 is so good, it doesn't need a tone knob (added tone circuits always add extra noise and fizz). I love the SD1, but yeah OD1 all day. I've heard analog Mike say that the OD1 is the cleanest way to make your preamp work hard without added fizz, which I definitely agree with. It's a totally clean sounding OD.

OD-3 is the better version of OD-1. Sadly, the SD-1 is always a mediocre.
