it seems that you tried to adjust the settings to be the same in both pedals, but you failed to realize that the tone on the Nux is where the volume is on the DS-1, so that would account fur the slight difference in the tone.

nux has great and cheap delay pedals, the black pedal, the amp simulator is amazing, the chorus too..mm they should do a reverb. great pedals great value.

The classic DS1 is the original Japanese version, Roland/Boss changed the chipset in the early 90s when they moved production to Taiwan. A lot of the current Chinese copies are based on the Japanese chipset so sound more like the classic DS1 than any real DS1 made in the last 25 years. Some of them, like the ENO TC12, even have the Keeley mod as an extra feature. A Daphon E10DS or E20DS is closer to the classic DS1 sound than either of the pedals in this video.
ElectricLabel * I NOTICED that when taking the cheap Nux pedals apart to examine the build and was really really impressed ! They Even use higher quality Metal film carrots caps and jrc 4558 chips too, the mini one and the standard size ones too.☺ The boards that they use are high quality aswell, but the stomp switch and the input/output Jack's and washers are very cheap, so there is that, but at least those are the easiest pays in the pedal to replace.

Listen to the difference in how the tone works. DS1 goes from really thin to really dull with no difference in volume.
DS3 has plenty of low end and tonnes of volume at full tone and is very quiet at minimum tone.
Clearly the DS3 uses a rat style tone control which bypasses the signal at max and passes the signal through a very heavy LPF at min.
Ergo: the ds3 is closer to a rat than a DS1.

Boss DS 1 is the BEST pedal, but it need overdrive pedal booster, put OD after DS 1 and make some awesome SOUND....

I'm using NUX DS3 and mine doesn't have that buzzing sound when I use it in dc but when I tried to use it with the battery only theres a buzzing sound. I dunno why

pelo video realmente não dá para perceber nenhuma diferença,quem sabe pessoalmente testando dê para perceber algum nuance,mas com certeza se tiver alguma diferença,a diferença deve ser insignificante,tenho 2 pedais Nux e vou comprar mais 2,vale a pena pelo Custo benefício,importado da china pelo Aliexpress fica bem barato!

Stale post. Response for interest of others. I have the NUX HG-6 (RED). It's distortion on steroids. If you are after Classic (literally) Disortion the DS-3. High Gain Distortion the HG-6. Both are good. I use their Overdrive OD-3 (GREEN) Ibanez DS-9 Tube Screamer clone too. In this instance I wouldn't buy the BOSS. The NUX DS-3 would would adequately fulfill my need & budget both. Love NUX pedals.

This is not what the ds1 was intended to be. It's not a stand alone pedal it is to be stacked with an overdrive or a amp channel that is on break up.So I wouldn't take this demo as being any good.
