I’ve had the joyo over a year and still like it.

The good news is that you can get into the OD-1 ballpark for $50 or so with the SD1. No its not as good but for me good enough until i can come across one of the OG overdrives.. (Not sure about OD3? maybe more bass but less mids ?)

Bom demais, já tive 3 Boss CE -2 e posso garantir que este chega lá , é pouca coisa mais agudo mas dá pra compensar no Knob da guitarra, tem muita qualidade, a mesma magia do CE-2 . Realmente pagar uma fortuna só se for pela marca.

Hi Berger, from your 'in the room' experience, to your ears could you please explain any subtle differences you noticed between these two pedals please? What were the differences?

You set the DS1 too harsh for a fair comparison, DS1 tone needs to be backed off a bit in most usages

Back in the early 80's the DS-1 was my main pedal 😊 ... now, you must remember that Boss, Digitech and other pedals that are Not true bypass act as a buffer when switched off, therefore you will get slightly different tones from each pedal depending on their positions !! years ago I put two Digitech Death metal pedals together and found the first one had more treble and less bass than the second one (could have been the other way around, it's been years) but when swapped, the same result, first one with more treble and less bass, which means that the tone is different with the buffer in front, to when it's after the pedal that is ON, yet when used individually, they sounded exactly the same !! and I got the same results from two Boss overdrives !!! I don't understand why you'd compare these two pedals. One is a high gain pedal to act as your main distortion sound running into a clean amp like a Fender. The other is a pedal you use to EQ and dirty up your guitar sound while going into a distorted amp. It's like two different uses.

I have one of these amps and i will not get rid of it. Awesome sounds and lightweight i mean you literally can't beat them. You better snatch them up now cause one day they will get super popular and they be 800 dollars watch and see its coming. Great gigging amps if you ask me super loud and you can get the powered cab and add to it

People complain about no tone knob on the OD-1, sometimes when you build/design these overdrive pedals adding that extra tone knob makes your pedal sound totally generic. Just plug into a fender blackface, the tonestack is directly after the first gain stage. (Which makes it suck for making its own crunch like a Marshall) but makes it so you can eq the pedal from the amplifier.
