Elections and election rallies should only be held during this time of year when pollution levels are at their peak. At least this way the contestants won't be able to scream because of sore throats and itchy eyes. Maybe this will motivate them to improve air quality.

I drive a car because public transport is shitty, all i do is i buy the fuel with lesser carbon emissions thats what i do, great mr. Gupta travels in a AC car which emits what Oxygen? but do you think with our population we can change that over night? Gov want to make metros but getting land is a nightmare ( arrey forest example) only people can change this. Or yaha 10 ka 300 rs karne par riots lag jaate h (JNU)

It's really disheartening when all you hear is the commotion of remedying only 'Delhi' air when Haryana is equally or even more a victim of it . Literally nobody among the political class or major media is talking about pollution in haryana cities where we are dying as well. Panipat has it ,Karnal has it, Even Gurgaon which is so developed and a corporate centre but all you experience there is roads full of dust ,sand ( whatever that is). Nobody even talks that , nobody questions Haryana govt on that.

"Those who can't do, teach" - very apt for the "remedies" suggested by IIT-Kanpur. According to Mr. Sharma and Mr. Dikshit, lets stop all economic activity and that'll stop pollution - stop the power plants, the restaurants, the construction work.. iss se problem solve ho jayegi. Shekharji, you're not that gullible to get carried away like this.
Why not suggest some actual practical solutions - if burning trash is the problem, use the burning to power the plants like Norway - that way you burn less coal and still have energy.
Have a cap on the number of cars a family can own. And yes, of course, plant more trees!

All this has been known for decades. The real remedy is having national and local government which cares about the welfare of its people and will implement sweeping structural changes. The solutions have been well known worldwide.. nothing new here. But the national and local governments could not care less about ordinary people to push for large structural changes. So be ready to continue suffering for a long time in achay din. 😬

Why is no channel demanding the Resignation of the Environment minister of the central government. Pollution is a problem of entire north India covering 5 states and needs a holistic plan which only central government can implement. But BJP knows to win elections all it needs to do is Hindu- Muslim and everything else can go to Hell ( Including us citizens)
