Hi Sandhya! It was a pleasant surprise to find you here at ThePrint.
I have been following you on twitter and Quora since 2012 from one of your answers on GoT (Us fans were still very few at that time). I remember being really impressed by you because you went from RTMNU to NYU and still had such diverse interests as could be seen in your answers.
I took a break from all the Social media 3 yrs ago and completely forgot about you; and today I stumble upon this video as CZcams recommended it to me. (Have been following Print since Shekhar Gupta left IE)
Really glad to see how your career has shaped up with you now becoming a full time journalist with such a reputed house, that too from being an engineer no less!
I feel like meeting an old lost friend; just wanted to let you know.

1 dislike from because in the remedy portion you just ask people for precautions before entering in the pollution but you should have told about how we can improve our environment there is no message conveyed other than selfishness , if nature become selfish then no life can sustain on this earth mind it speaker , everyone knows the cause but no one coming forward to help nature as a human

AQI stopped at 999 bro. It meant that it was not able to read anymore its maximum capacity was till 999. So just imagine it has crossed that level as well.

That is the reason for perpetual problem.

When I visited Delhi, the people are well mannered, they are hard working, but there is one thing that I was apalled at, the river Yamuna. It's shocking how people of such a prestigious city can tolerate such defilation of such an iconic river.

*"Humanity has only a hundred years left either to leave earth or perish."* these are not my words but Stephen Hawking's. Why? First, here are a few reasons as to why you should continue reading:- 1)This is a very serious topic, you should know about it. 2)solutions about how to cease the process of degradation of our environment. 3)Awareness. 4)You will regret it if you don't. Whenever you switch on the TV and watch the news, the headlines mostly comprise of flood reports, rising level of river water, landslides and also animals entering the places of human dwellings. All these cause heavy loss of both life and property. This all my friend is man's doing. How? Well for the sake of development tress are being cut recklessly. 'Oh here goes again the boring piece of writing about don't cut trees and save trees'. No, truly I'll be telling you about a number of other things you should know or else you're doomed. Everyone surely knows about the hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica and the ill effects of the layer degrading completely. The ozone layer protects life from various kinds of life threatening diseases. If the ozone layer were not present in the earth's atmosphere, maybe life would not exist altogether. But the activities of humans have caused excessive air pollution which will soon, very soon intact, degrade the layer completely. But all we care about these days is about a new application or the latest movie coming up. We read at a number of places about the polar caps melting and the climate becoming hot. This, too, is our own doing. Due to the glaciersf melting, the rivers and the seas have a higher water level which leads to floods. What about landslides? Trees bind the soil together and lack of trees is a welcome to landslides. If your house gets destroyed due to xyz reason where would you go? No idea right! Now think about animal life, we are mercilessly destroying their habitats for our own benefit, the benefit which would have no value if humanity vanished altogether. Trees not only provide food, shelter and oxygen(can't live without this) but also play a vital role in controlling the environment. Every one is us has one way or the other heard about the *Chipkoo movement/Andolaan*, getting to know would not do the job. It's time to think about the actual threats to life and do something about it. The UK has declared a state emergency on climate change because of a heatwave. The highest recorded temperature was 38.7℃ in Cambridge, Botanic Garden on 25July 2019. In India, on the other hand the temperature has exceeded 50℃ in many parts of the country. Now you'll say India has a subtropical climate. There haven't been floods and landslides in the UK. They still have declared *climate change* as an emergency. The top ten polluted cities in the world are *Kanpur, Faridabad, Varanasi, Patna, Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Muzzafarpur, Gurugram and Bameda*. Nine of these are in India. Breathing in the air of this quality is equal to smoking 44 cigarettes a day. You'll be sick even if you don't smoke. It's high time for our government to actually do something about climate change. How can we contribute? Here are some ways:- 1) Carpools- seem stupid but are very effective so get in touch with your neighbours. 2)Plant trees(lots and lots) 3)conserve water 4)Don't burn crackers (life is more precious than a festival) 5)Switch to sustainable and eco- friendly sources of energy (solar energy) 6) Aware people. Instead of sending jokes and messages which will be forgotten send this message to people, it is sure to help them and you - yourself.
