So when the BBC opens the world cup coverage with criticism of Qatar and its human rights issues, with Gary Lineker speaking upon the issues, its all good. But when Gary speaks on issues closer to home, his contract stipulates that he shouldn't. Hmmmm... so didn't that contractual stipulation matter when he spoke on Qatar? Why wasn't that a problem for the BBC?

    • @really8930

Because Qatar actually violated human rights laws you mongrel, where as Gary Lineker is talking about something that common people get pelters for saying, and could influence votes in an election. His job is to remain IMPARTIAL. Gary also lives in an 89% Caucasian community in a very nice house, so will have absolutely no idea what mass immigration does to a nation. BBC was right to warn him the way they did, he’s an idiot and spits in the face of all those people who will suffer because boatloads of 30 year old men will be taking precedence over them!

The biggest issue about this is that in the end everything got reduced to ‘opinion’ rather than looking to the quality of truth within the argument. Everyone who believes to gain something by defending a certain view (right wing/leftwing) did so and one usually knew before listening their point already what they would say and where they would stand…that is not just bowling as FCUK but it also doesn’t allow to take anything positive from the situation. In the end every moron in the country was asked to state their opinion (interviews on the streets, etc) but no one fact checked or asked experts (eg an historian in post WW2 with an expertise in propaganda science and the langue age used at the time, a professor for linguistics, etc) if Lineker actually has a point or not! If not he should have apologised. But if there is anything to it (and yes you can quantify scientifically these whether there are parallels or similarities in the tone of language as suggested by Lineker) the BBC should should’ve issued an apology! In the end it is very simple - if one states a proven fact, it is not an opinion and should be allowed to be stated! One wouldn’t see gravity as an opinion either…anyways, in the end whole thing went down worse than a SouthPark episode!

Show the games with or without commentaries ( I've been turning the sound down on them for a long while can't stand the utter rubbish they spout) . & we don't need matches to be dissected.
