I am an Arsenal fan, and I have been one since 1965. The hatred between the two clubs is something I have experienced for many years and it sickens me. Some rivalry is perfectly understandable, but the mindless hatred that has been such a constant from both sets of supporters, is shameful.
In no way do I claim that the Spurs side threw the game, they tried their best but were up against a very good City side and they just were not up to the task. It is is simple as that. They had chances, good chances, but some days, they just don't go your way. I do not hold the side responsible for the loss at all, except from the point of view that they lost to a better, and deserving side.
The Spurs supporters who were hoping that City won, is a totally different matter and shows exactly why Spurs have won nothing for so long. When a large number of a team's supporters, believe that it is far more important to deny a close rival a shot at the title than it is to win a game, then all hope is lost. It shows a seriously negative and defeatist mindset, one that is totally devoid of pride and passion for the team you supposedly support. This sentiment is aimed not just at the Spurs supporters, but any team's supporters who would take this attitude, including my fellow Arsenal supporters.
As for Big Ange, I support him 100% with his criticism of the club and feel it is totally deserved. Your club does not deserve a manager with the integrity he has shown throughout this matter. You have embarrassed your manager, your team, and your club.

I would rather play in the Europa league, give proper game time to the reserves, and groom them properly before even thinking of Madrid and Bayern. We have a very young squad. The summer signings aren't going to be established veterans either. They need game time, and they best way to do it is to play against average teams. After we have established a proper team. By all means revel in Arsenal not winning the league but not by cheering City scoring or joining in their fans celebrations or not encouraging Spurs is shameful and an utter disgrace. Go support someone else and do everyone a favour.
It simply doesn't matter if Arsenal win the title. Have some banter, be unhappy but dont let it get in the way of Spurs winning a game with an outside chance of Champions league. Even though for me a Europa League spot is a better growing place to start. Spurs played really well last night. All of them. Maddison and Dragusin were superb. But to go to the game and celebrate opposition…it’s embarrassing and out of order. Don’t go to game, give it a swerve. Shame of it is, whole fan base now get tarnished with same brush. But our problems run far deeper than a section of fans. We’ve sacked managers before semi finals and finals in Enics time, we’ve let star players go and never replaced them and despite world class facilities, we rarely bring any talent through. I’d also say postecoglu isn’t entirely blameless. I like him, overall a decent season, but we won’t seem to have a plan b, our record in London derbies is appalling and tbh since Chelsea at home we’ve been bang average. I think whole club top to bottom should take some collective responsibility.

Change the culture of the football club with results, not with words, mate. How is everyone overlooking losing four in a row, conceding 13 goals, and putting the club in this predicament in the first place. Also, if the FA wan't so crippled in scheduling their games this season (Spurs not having a game in 14 days, then having to play four tough games in just two weeks), then they wouldn't find themselves in a position where it mattered to their rival whether they lost to city or not. And people aren't being candid about the chances of Spurs actually beating City. When have they ever backed Tottenham in these games... so, the arguement, they would go on to claim top four isn't even valid, as it would infer that Villa lose at Palace (Villa who everyone has been singing praises of and Unai Emery). Given their condition and all the many factors that led to the unique circumstances of the game, Spurs fans can't be blamed for any of these morally questionable accusations.

The point is a bit contradictory to me. If you're spending that much then he probably should have done more this season. No good cup run and top 4 challenge over before the final game. Hmmm. 👍🏾
Exactly (at least I think I get what you’re alluding to 😬). I’m an Aussie Spurs’ fan of more than 40 years and a sports nut like Ange himself - it goes against everything internally wired for a real, passionate (Aussie) fan to be so pathetic as to prioritise rejoicing in the misery of your (most bitter) rival falling short of their target than winning the game they’re actually playing!! I don’t like Arsenal like any other supporter of Tottenham, but I’m man enough to acknowledge that should they win the PL title (which is still possible), they’ve deserved it and exposed that they are (currently) superior to us! That’s the thing that Ange is laying bare with his comments and obviously there are people inside the Club who have indicated they don’t share the same view as this to him somehow - and he’s understandably livid about it!! 😡
He has had the same message pretty much through the season - we need to get better to challenge for the PL title (and what’s the point of playing if a team doesn’t have that goal), it won’t happen overnight and you should always be striving to win EVERY game that is played, and not worry about what your rivals are up to. Who would’ve thought Leverkusen would win the Bundesliga as a prime example?!!
(And for those who may laugh and say in response “Tottenham will never change”, I can give you a raft of examples from other top level sports where teams that have been a laughing stock have, indeed, turned it around and been successful… One thing a lot of Aussies know - being a small nation constantly looking outwards - is that there are more top level competitions than just the PL)

What is Simon talking about if Man U/Man City were in this position? They were LAST WEEKEND. Show me how many Man U fans were cheering Arsenal on and wearing Arsenal colours, asking Ten Hag to throw the game as the scenarios were the same, if Man U won they handed title to City yet NONE OF THEIR FANS WERE, infact was the loudest the fans have been all season. THat's the difference between a winning club and a club that will forever be a nothing club.

From Ange’s comments, I think he meant the fans and probably some staff within the club were happy to bite their nose to spite their face. Sacrifice CL for Arsenal to not win the league, win the battle, lose the war. I doubt Levy or other high level employees would be thinking the same, the money from the CL is too much, millions and millions. To by throwing away over a rivalry is just illogical. The players gave it their all and in a game of such fine margins, having your home crowd against you can be the difference. Small club mentality from the fans
