Whatever Nintendo's next-gen console will be like I'm not sure. Will it be a Switch version of the Wii U, maybe. Would be cool if it will turn out to be a Switch U, just saying. The possibility it could give for gaming options.

Because whatever Retro was working on after TF appears to have been cancelled and then they got pulled to work on Prime 4. There's rumors that the 3D Mario team expanded to work on 3D Mario AND DK now, but those haven't been confirmed and it's hard to say. DK may be a Switch 2 launch title.

Doesn't help much, the issue is with their first party lineup. We've had plenty of third party and indie games but first party games have run dry this year with nothing but Princess Peach Showtime and remakes/remasters.

I REALLY hope the Switch 2 implements an Achievment system, like for Xbox, Playstation, and Steam. 100%ing Nintendo games is so much fun, but there isn’t really a way to show that or display it on your profile, all it has is Hours played 😢

they better give it backwards compatibility. A lot of people suffered from the port price increase and a general lack of heavy hitters and if they do give ports to the switch 2 or pro, I hope they give better incentive like with the Hyrule warriors definitive edition.

I don’t own any switch but have been watching. Now not buying anything until all is revealed. Looks like holiday 2024 will be last shot to empty out old stocks.
The thing is, Gamescom in transition years for Nintendo is largely dedicated to the outgoing generation and usually more Europe-specific releases. If we get a May/June Direct covering the remaining time until Switch 2 launches (Q1 calendar year 2025, Q4 FY2025, January-March most likely) and every release is worldwide, Gamescom becomes less important. Especially if Nintendo plans to exhibit with Summer Games Fest and have a traveling Nintendo Live at different less typical industry events like the various comic-cons, fan expos, etc. My guess is Indie Showcase late-April/Early May, General Direct late May/early June, Switch 2 teaser trailer late June/early July, big blowout reveal event for Switch 2 as the September Direct or as part of TGS, Switch 2 launch sometime between January and March 2025. We should be finding out the general roadmap for calendar year 2024 and FY2025 soon anyway, since Nintendo leadership said they’d be giving that in the May quarterly investor briefing.

At this point I've been waiting for a hardware upgrade for so long that i don't even care if the Switch 2 is Backwards compatible I'm keeping my Switch no matter what and if they re-release the best of their heavy hitters I'd probably double dip and not even care as long as the system is a Significant upgrade it would be worth it in my opinion but that's just me

I find it very difficult to believe that Nintendo aren't going to reveal anything next gen for another 6 months or so without offering any current gen content to entertain us in the meantime. to think there there may be no releases now until Switch 2 in 2025 comes across as very arrogant on part of Nintendo.
The switch itself is primarily a home console that CAN be used as a handheld. But with the success of its handheld capabilities, what the switch 2 really needs to be is a handheld that CAN be used as a home console. With this difference, we can get some features back such as streetpass, ar, and potentially vr if the switch 2 becomes primarily a handheld
It's like every video I watch doesn't provide much information on the hardware. With every Nintendo system, they have a certain idea that other consoles don't have. I've never heard anything in that direction.

There was Pikmin 1+2 on thia video's intro, in last year when Pikmin 4 nd Pikmin 1+2 Bundle for Nintendo Switch were relased. Before Pikmin 4 I haven't been interested of Pikmin games, because Stragety games aren't my type and Pikmin have always looking weird to my eyes, but when Pikmin 4 was relased in 2023, that game got my interested of Pikmin at the First Time in my life ever. Pikmin 4 looks really big and amazing game, I like there's a character creation and the World in Pikmin 4 looks a much better than for example Pikmin 3, but now i'm interested of trying Pikmin 1+2 Bundle, 3 and defienitily 4 on Switch. About of the upcoming Nintendo Switch I believe the Reveal might be in the End of 2024 and the Relase will be in the Next Year 2025, Pokémon Legends ZA what was revealved in february's Pokémon Presents 2024 and a new Mario Kart game like Lego Mario Kart or Mario Kart 9 what I hope is Mario Kart 9 what was teased a little in Mar10 Day's Lego Nintendo Direct 2024. The Next Mario Kart is coming in 2025, Pokémon Legends ZA is coming in 2025, so it's obvious Nintendo Switch 2 is coming in 2025 too. I’m losing my faith in Nintendo. If they’re gonna sit on the next hardware until October, it’ll feel like until then, we’ll never be getting anymore new consoles or even information. They *need* to reveal this thing before their investor conference!
This is almost the same strategy they did with the super nintendo back in the time. They delayed the super nintendo console release for a full year just to improve their 1st party games lineup. Nintendo just like to play safe, rather than rushing the console releases and handle the complains of players. Hope the delay really works out in their favor.
It didn’t surprise me that this year was going to be a drought, but I’m hoping that Nintendo gives us something to look forward to and not just drag this completely out

I think Nintendo if they're smart will reveal there next console after the ps6 and xbox next or xbox nexus is released in 2028 so I would say around 2029 so they can release a more powerful next gen console than the competition this time and claim ps2s crown 👑 with the switch but I don't think they will call it the switch 2 wii u anyone and it's not the 2nd nintendo console so it makes no since to number them I think there next will be a cartridge like the n64 and super nintendo maybe a little different cartidge design than those systems and the controller will be like the xbox design nintendo switch controllers just normal controllers no gimmicky motion controls a power house of a system!

I actually do suspect a lengthy Nintendo Direct drought as a result of this delay, I think the next full fledged Direct isn't until next February because they don't have much to show until Fall (they'll probably still reveal games, but probably just Twitter drops for a handful of remakes/remasters) and in the Fall they might go for a Switch 2 presentation instead of a Direct. Also, I don't think the Switch 2 reveal necessarily has to be in October, it could be in September instead.

hope they learned from past failures and this isn't a weak pos that can hardly play some of their game library that an emulator can make run better indefinitely than the actual console, this release needs to be over powered like the n64 and game cube was, it's been a long time, even back when the switch was released it was considered weak, in this generation, it needs to be 10 times the strength of the old switch and built stronger like older consoles from then where, only this time with out quirky 💩 💩 anti piracy measures that won't work anyway. small 1.5gb discs, that were "expensive"for the time for gc release then before that for n64 usingflash carts with hardly enough space. N64 was more powerful than the ps1 by a large stretch, only the flash carts with lack luster space severely limited the console, the game cube was quite a bit more powerful than the ps2, but per disk, ps2 could store 2.5 times or more data. This current gens problem is that it was severaly lacking in power and build quality, many AAA devs were like nope. Hopefully they actually step it up, only without quirks, maybe they'll then get more third party support if powerful enough.
