FIRST REACTION to Led Zeppelin - How Many More Times
Vložit
- čas přidán 4. 05. 2020
- My reaction to Led Zeppelin's closing track "How Many More Times" off of their self-titled debut album.
Let me know what other Zeppelin songs I should react to!
#ledzeppelin #howmanymoretimes
Don't forget...Jimmy produced all their albums himself!! Jimmy with the cello bow again!
Noticed that upon 2nd listen, that cello bow is something special.
No it’s a Violin 🎻 Bow “
@@emmanuelflores9983 It’s a 🎻 Violin Bow.
Nice choice👍🏻
It’s unbelievable to think that this entire album, according to jimmy himself, only took 30 hours of studio time to record and mix. The whole album!! 😳
So glad you have discovered the greatest rock band ever, you must get the 2003 DVD that followed how the west was won
How Many More Times - Live from Denmark '69 🔥🔥🔥
There's that cello bow... Now check out the 1969 Denmark (I think) live video when they introduced themselves to the world with this song.
Definitely needs to do that ITS A MUST✌️
☝ This!!!!!!!!! A thousand times this!!!!!!!
Perfect. Definitely want to react to the live performances that accompany every album, appreciate the rec.
They were meant to electricity the blues in ways no had and no one ever will!🤘🏻Hammer of the GODS!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️
Electrify
@@mattharvey968 When Giants Walked the Earth!
Achilles Last Stand, Knebworth, Live. Your mind will be blown. Guaranteed. Actually just heard you say that you’re going chronologically so that’s great. Keep going! Love your reactions.
There is a live version of this from early...69 I think. I love seeing someone love Zeppelin as much as I do! Don't forget Ramble On!!
Yes nice just ZEPPELIN no AC/DC or other band. My dream come true a reaction channel of just ZEP 🥰
the denmark l.ive version is great, the royal albert hall version is even better imo
@@eatthisvr6 yes, the Royal Albert hall version is amazing
The Royal Albert version of this is about as good as live music gets. They quit performing it after that performance for some reason.
This is why Led Zeppelin is #1 “
Hands down my favourite led Zeppelin song.. don't care what others say
I just can't decide between so many great songs
@@tnightwolf They're all great!
1970 live version from Royal Albert Hall is smothering else !
Damn right. So is the entire show.
Yes of course!!
lived it the first time round. no one sounds like led zeppelin the best rock band ever
One of my favorite Zep songs
So cool seeing you young people digging this stuff.
As Julie said you should do live version of this. Robert Plant introduces the band members individually. Shows you how fast they became famous. Wasn't long before we knew the names.
I remember in 1970 going on a an overnight trip to go harvest 'Oregano' in Northern Kansas of all places. We all had white cross in us and 6 AM we were near Columbus, KS and very buzzed. This came on and there was a huge mist and the music created a prehistoric feeling, as though Tyrannosaurus Rex was going to come out of the trees next to us. I never lost that feeling with this song. "Primordial" was a priceless feeling..
Primordial is the key!
Nothing like this in 1969....Revolutionary at the time.
Such as the Wizard of Oz circa 1939. Mind blowing show business that leaves people stunned with dropped jaws. Year after year, time after time again!!!!
Jeff Beck came close. Jimmy is more polished.
Live version please! Although, I do love the recording.
Achilles Last Stand will make your jaw drop , listen to the studio track first then watch Jimmy and Bonzo make it look sooo easy with the live Knebworth show in 1979.
Jimmy was the riff master general . No doubt.
The thing i love about Led Zeppelin is that whenever you think it will just become boring and repetitive, they always have a little more subtle "substance" to give and add up to an already simple great song.
This is BLUES Man !
always girls and mishaps are sources of inspiration.
I know that today these issues have been resolved - but Blues was at times when men/women could have dificulties and was a great source of distress.
Sick band. Zep has been my favorite band since I was a kid.
This is reminds me of when I go back to the day's of my youth as a teenager with my buddies. We would load up 5-6 of us in my Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, not wearing seat belts, puffing on the magic dragon as we fell into the land of Led Zep!
I'm 62, been to msg, 73, 75, no night the same
Eric Nelson so envious!!
Then Jimmy whips out the cello bow! Loved your reaction!
Loving these reactions, man
Defiantly one that is so overlooked and another one of their best out of the stacks of the other one of the best of the best of the best ...
"A Led Zeppelin musical voyage"
Oh, yeah
Young man, you have exquisite taste in music, you will go far in life.
I feel every second of your discovery... Zep said a lot in this 1st record and gave the world an incredible overview of what was to come. They knocked this album out in 2-3 months..
The kind of music that makes ones toes curl, haha!
Yeah, recorded in about 30 hours. I would love to see you react to “You Shook Me”. As to Zeppelin II, I would say “Heartbreaker/Lovin Lovin Maid”, or “Ramble On”.
Ramble On!!
30 hours?!
Emmanuel Flores Yes, I heard Jimmy Page say this in an interview.
If you havent noticed most but not all of their songs are loves songs weather its happy or tragic now that you have done dazed and confused (tragic) listen to ....thank you....one of the most beautiful love song ever written the softer side of zeppelin
i LOVE the drums at 6:45 !!
Just remember at this time in the late sixties, the radio was playing "Indian Lake by the Cowsills!
Yeah, a full album reaction would be perfect......there is a 15 minute solo showcase for Bonham in it called Moby Dick. The album, as was common, has hard bangers and a soft song or two. Nice mix
I must say Emmanuel, this is great for me as well, through you I'm experiencing Led Zeppelin all over again, as I did in the 70's, well almost, I don't smoke any longer, well not often anyway lol ... thanks for picking Zeppelin, one song at a time :)
Ledzepnut and the musical experience is on a different level when listening to it with Mary Jane!!✌️
@@mattharvey968 That it is :)
Don't know if you did any Jeff Beck yet. My favorite band is Zep but before Zep 1 Jeff Beck did a album called Truth that inspired Jimmy Page to form Zep. They grew up together and Page was offered Yardbitd gig which he recommended Beck. Later Page did join. It was short lived but explosive. Beck left and made solo album Truth. Page wrote and played 12 string on Becks Bolero. This album is what got Page inspired to start a new yardbirds that became Zep. But you should do that album. All the tracks. It even has a version of You Shook Me which Zep also did on first album
For Zeppelin 2 I recommend ramble on, Heartbreaker live loving maid she's just a woman (back to back), bring it on home.
GREAT! and now you’ve got to see the live version in denmark
Great description of that middle section with what you said about feels like a dream
Hey there Emmanuel looking forward to this one.........!!!!!
you need to listen to the live royal albert hall version if you want to enter the rabbit hole of live led zeppelin. Once you go live you dont go back with this band.
best songs from the 2nd album: lemon song, what is and what should never be, bring it on home, ramble on
LOVED your reaction! Similar to mine about 50 years ago!
Firs song I ever learned to play on bass ... taught me rhythm and feel ... this song holds a special place for me.
The whole album of Zeppelin II is great, but the ones that stand out What is and What Should Never Be, The Lemon Song, Thank You, Ramble ON, and Bring It On Home. I think you already heard Whole Lotta Love, oh by the way love your cup.
Led Zeppelin One and Two were the blueprint for all rock music in the 70's.
Jimmy Page is the master builder. Every aspect of the music is by design and for effect. Nothing is left to chance. An added bonus is his guitar solo's are relentless.
Here's a dandy recommendation from LZ II: Bring it on home, live @ Royal Albert Hall. You'll love it...blues!
Is hard to choose because all songs are good but here is my try:
Led zeppelin 1:
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.
Your Time Is Gonna Come.
Communication Breakdown.
You Shook Me.
Led zeppelin 2:
Heartbreaker.
Thank You.
What is and what should never be.
The Lemon Song.
Ramble on.
Led Zeppelin 3 :
Inmigrant song.
Celebration day.
Gallows Pole.
Out in the tiles.
Led zeppelin 4: All basically
Houses of the holy (5 album):
All except The Crunge
Physicall Graffiti(6 album):
All again too for 7 and 8 album.
Lives:
1969 Denmark and 1973 MSG
Hey Flores One listening Achilles last stand live in Knebwhort 79,and you understand what i mean about John Bonham and Led Zeppelin section rythm...
Jimmy and John just goes nuts, killed that performance. 🤘
Follow it up with Zeps performance at Royal Albert Hall in 1970.
20 minute Improvisational masterpiece
A MUST WATCH 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
People till this day are still trying to figure-out how Led Zeppelin were using their Super-Computers to expand Music horizons in the late 60´s!
Bonzo is driving the rig!!! 😎 John Paul, is in the convoy behind him!
GOATS!!!!! 😎✌️ how many genres can they fit in one tune, and make it sound soooooo right!!!! That’s Genius!
This is definitely one of the more underappreciated Zeppelin songs. Jimmy also uses his bow on this song. I love that false build up too. Do yourself a big favor though and see them at their first live tv performance of this song for Denmark radio. You'll see how amazing they truly were from the beginning. czcams.com/video/wEPog_WdPE4/video.html
By far the most colossal Zeppelin track (for me), how they close with that heavy riff they opened with accompanied by those piercing, mega stabs of Bonhams on the cymbals. I almost lost control of my car the other day listening to this, stereo cranked as high as it could possibly take it, I entered nirvana.
When asked what my favorite Led Zepplin song is I say "Why the first two albums of course".
I know you already reacted to “whole lotta love” from TSRTS, so unless you want to repeat that song my top picks would be:
1- “Ramble on”
2- “What is and what should never be”
These are two great songs that were rarely, if ever played live. Other songs that are good but also have great live versions:
3- “Heartbreaker”
4- “Thank you”
5- “The lemon song”
I got dozens of bootlegs with those 2 songs played live. I had over 200 bootlegs on cassette in 80's and many of them from 69 to 71 had those songs.
Alicia Encaderada other then O2, when did they play ramble on? (Not page/plant) I would love to hear that song live, from those days... what shows?
@@JU5TINPDX They didn't (at least not that I've ever heard).
@JU5TINPDX buddy they played what is and what should never be before moby dick from 1970-1971, which is a lot
KASHMIR!!!!!
1000% Kashmir frm the O2 in London 2007 I believe💖
In the evening, time is going to come and tangerine please try these 3 led zeppelin songs
Flores i love your reactions about music, and Led Zeppelin, what to say, there are many great bands than we have Led Zeppelin the best band by far,no One come closes, especialy live...
PS I did a thumbs up on this one GD job 💪👌
If you can pull off a full album reaction to Zep II it would be epic. I "borrowed" that cassette from my older brother back in 1980 the rest is history for me...
What Art Cordova said.....watch the live 1969 Denmark version.....I think this is the remastered version, and Roberts vocals seem to be put back in the mix allot. I don’t recall that from the original album at all, and in the Denmark video his vocals are much more forward....
No doubt
Yeah although in Denmark his voice was a bit more shaky, not bad, just not completely there. That’s why he didn’t go for the famous “gun” there, and you can see all the band look at each other and smile when he dodges it.
I could send you some really good How many more times performances for Robert 👍
this is the best version, good call
Please react to achilles last stand that is one of led zeppelins best songs
I remember seeing this album around my house for years before I truly listened to it. It was part of my much older brothers collection and at first it was too bluesy for my 12 year old mind in 1972. My sister also much older shaped my musical tastes more back then as she was still at home. So I was mostly listening to old Beatles songs and the older Rolling Stones, some Motown and Simon and Garfunkel. After a bit I gave my bros album another try and the only music from my sister's collection I ever listened to again was the Stones.
Zeppelin 2. "Whole Lotta Love" is a must. "The Lemon Song" "Heartbreaker" but "Living Loving Maid" MUST be played right after at the same time almost as if it was part of "Heartbreaker" because that is the way it is done. "What is and Should Never Be" as an alternate. I hate "Thank You" but to be fair many people really like this slow ballad so you might consider it. "Ramble On" If you want to hear your first "Lord of the Rings" references. Zeppelin were big fans of LotR and three or four songs by them have LotR references in them. And "Moby Dick" for the most famous drum solo of all time. Not a big fan of it but again lots of people like it. Zeppelin 2 and 4 for the longest time were considered their greatest albums. I myself think "Physical Graffiti" is their best album. With 1,2,4 tied for second.
We're about the same age, born in 60 ... I remember Stairway to Heaven when it was no. 1 for weeks on end, but at the time I was a huge Beatles fan ... not until about 73 is when Zeppelin became my favorite band, also about the same time I started smoking weed, who'd of thunk it lol
How Many More Times live In Royal Albert Hall 1970
Pleaseee
A lot of Zeppelin music where Bonzo, followed Jimmy, THEY STRICTLY FED OFF EACH OTHER, IF ONE WENT ON A TANGENT DURING A SONG THE ALL IMPROVISED AND IT WORKED, Probably due to page and Jones studio background, you don't become the most sought after guitarist and bassist caus you suck, side note, Bonham fired from every band because he to loud
Led Zeppelin have the best section rythm on all rock history,One day I ask to my drums teacher,in high school of jazz on Porto who the fuck is the best drummers of rock and he says that are many very goods drummers in rock but the best are John Bonham he says that Led Zeppelin drummer is an inspiration to all drummers of many stiles because the power beat and swing that he had,John Bonham is the best of all time,no doubt...
Manny, btw Plant’s nickname is Percy “ Trivia
You have to see Bonham play the drums in the Danmark version.
Awesome ! You need to check out the Royal Albert hall version, it's incredible. Robert Plant was a little sick on the Denmark live version, I don't know why people suggest this version, his voice isn't at his best (that's just my opinion). The Royal Albert Hall concert is much more powerful, it's like the live version of "Whole lotta love" that you reacted to czcams.com/video/oFkzZHIcgFs/video.html
I would love a full album reaction ! :)
Check out BLACK MOUNTAINSIDE...LIVE
and for led zeppelin II:
ramble on
heartbreaker
the lemon song
(actually every song but i’d love to see you react to these)
From their first album, must hear: "You Shook Me", "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", "I Can't Quit You Baby" and "Communication Breakdown"
You should definitely do a full album reaction to Led Zeppelin II. Standouts for me are whole lotta love, Thank You, The Lemon song and Bring it on Home(This one has to be done live at Royal Albert Hall 1970 with the full 8 minute version) full link here: czcams.com/video/DmPWsRdZPao/video.html
like i said in your last Zeppelin reaction Bonham is the backbone
Could you react to Bring It On Home or The Battle Of Evermore!
honestly mate PLEASE react to each track, i PROMISE youll love 90% of them at least! its amazing to see somebody actually go through the journey in order
Also you can react Led Zep - Baby I am gonna leave you
Do you want another jaw dropping live Zep performance, after that Dazed &Confused from MSG? Try "How Many More Times" from Spokane '68. Not the best sound quality (it's an audience tape, their first recorded concert), but, oh boy, the energy!!
Watch the live version - Danmarks Radio 1969! Amazing!
Epic...
try the LIVE Royal Albert Hall version... IF you dare!!??!!
Great Job Kid cheers
The question isn't what songs of Zeppelin should you react to. Probably the better question is which Zeppelin songs shouldn't you react to. Personally, I think they are all good and most are great. So, you should just listen to them all in chronological order. Go back to Babe I'm Gonna Leave you and then You Shook Me and right on through their first album and just keep going. As Jack Black said at the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin, "the Zeppathon is when you sit your ass down and listen to all 9 Zeppelin albums in a row, it's the pilgrimage to heavy metal mecca." Kind of aptly sums up listening to their entire discography.
++++++++++++++++
A good documentary to learn about Jimmy Page is THIS MIGHT GET LOUD.
Please go in album and track order, don't skip around because you'll give yourself whiplash going between the styles. Zep was a master at formatting their albums to produce a certain ambience. Each album is a snapshot of time; of where they were in their musical maturity. Trust me, your patience will be rewarded and you'll be honoring the music. This song is two or three blues songs combined, and yes, Jimmy used the cello bow again. I'm looking forward to your next reaction but please don't skip around.
Plant is only 19 years old on the first album.
please do every track in chronological order, youl miss sooooo much if you dont
Ramble on.
Jimmy Page and John Paul were studio musicians before Led Zep. They were already professionals
I can see how much you appreciate the great music from Led Zep.... second album choice is ALL OF THEM . If not then "Ramble On" or "Bring it on home".
Recorded in 36 hours....
Damn Boomer moment: Saw them 3 times at MSG. Tripping Huevos. So cool to see young guys loving them. (Sorry we fucked up the country for ya)
Jimmy page step it up 1000 notches. If you listen too his first band yard birds n then compare it too this it's loud n hard n raunchy u should do yard birds reaction Jeff Beck was in the same band yerd birds check it out back in early 60s
Check out In My Time of Dying live. See the dead silence of the audience at the very end and what Plant does czcams.com/video/xTrQ7vUZsIo/video.html
The live version in denmark in 69' is better I think.
Watch live Denmark
