- Find out how much a big brake kit actually reduces stopping distance. Also learn how to install and adjust coilovers, how to properly powder coat your calipers, and how to ceramic coat your vehicle like a professional detailer.

I do stand behind this product as I'll be using it on the Viper next. I recommend the 2 kit option so you can also coat the plastics, windows, and wheels.

it's okay, the wait is always worth it. Thanks for making some of the highest quality car related content on the platform.
Wow, have sold my mustang since your last video. Not a joke.
Even if it does, it's still worth waiting :). Your videos are on another level with professionalism and how much information is contained within. Can't wait for charger install on the Mustang...
BABE WAKE UP, HE UPLOADED 🎉
Bro!! Legit!!!
😂
FOUR EYES!!!!
Actual zombie (kidding, I’m excited too!!)
Took an eternity 😢
Glad to see stuff like this. Most people forget about brakes when making a project car, then realize the mistake they made when they rear-end someone going highway speeds. Good stuff.
Cant believe my eyes that he finally uploaded
Most people have the good old 1/4 mile attitude, real drivers actually enjoy the next 120 bends dips and hill climbs till the next stop
Most people like you don’t realize all modern brakes are legally required to have far more than enough clamping force to overpower any tires
Not really. Modern cars have more than enough braking power to lock the wheels when braking. Upgrading brakes will most often lead to upset brake balancing and overbraking.
"Most people" eventually rear end someone at highway speeds after modding their car? Lmfao
this man is straight to the point, no obnoxious comments, no tryhard knowledge, no selfcentered tone, and no FILLER.
THIS MAN IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED CAR ENTHUSIAST CZcamsR! dude is just helpful and entertaining at the same time.
100%
a few things,
1, your car is BEAUTIFUL! It's clean, not too overdone, just very very nice.
2, the editing in these videos is unmatched in the car community and it keeps getting better.
3, finally, I always end up learning a lot whenever I watch a new video, so thank you for that!
Looking forward to future uploads. I'm shopping for a 05-09 GT over the next month or two, can't wait!
very kind thank you shromp 🙏
thats not lavender. its pink
I’m considering selling mine, 2009 GTCS with 70k miles and I’m the 2nd owner
This is some of the most impressive work done by one man. Video quality is beyond fathomable and some multi-million subscriber count youtubers don't even compete. You truly deserve an award.
Very generous comment thank you
It is true!!!
💯
Wait, do all Americans not know the difference between width and diameter?
@@janeblogs324 what 😭😭💀
The edit with the dampening dial was freaking sweet. Your editing is unmatched
TRUTH I have no idea how he did that, but it was freakin' amazing!
That part made me make the Patrick Bateman face

I thought it was some sort of laser being shot from the dial, rewinded it a few times before i figured it out 😂
The amount of quality, and care you put into these videos is honestly astonishing. I'm glad to see such care and detail being out into CZcams videos anymore, creators have gotten too comfortable!! Love the series, exctied to see more!
Your build is truly amazing. Your attention to details in these videos is second to none. The fact that you’re speaking so clear and concise demonstrates how sophisticated you are.
Thank you for these awesome videos and the nostalgic videos you create. My first car was a 2006 Mustang GT, and this build is everything I’ve ever wanted to do.
I highly recommend you try and find a set of Ford Racing Recaros for the S197. I believe you’re enjoy every second of them once installed in your car.
very nice comment thank you alexander
I wish more builds were as well documented as yours. I've never been huge on Mustangs but this build's depth and detail makes it satisfying to follow.
Same here
Mate your video production is top notch. Its straight to the point, easy to follow with well presented graphics and interesting videography, adds in a little humour here and there, and is logically constructed. You deserve so many more subs for the quality you produce. Even better that its about cars.
Edit: I also could not notice that Brian Spilner reference thrown in there, absolute gold
Care to share for those of us who don't know?
Edit: I just googled it. Nvm I know now.
Thank you, and thank you for watching that far into the video 🙏
He spent more time plugging ceramic coating than he did on the brake test what kind of meth are you smoking
@@JTTTTT850 yeah youre right, but because it was actually a good product and it was presented in a thought out and informative way, I was interested rather than mashing the right arrow key. Im sorry your low level IQ cant handle a plug so much that you feel the need to hurl insults.
Straight to the point? Didn’t he swerved to show us the powder coat? While it was on the overall topic of the big brake kit you can’t say the same about the ceramic coating that lasted 4 minutes of this video. Everything ese I agree. Great production, great graphics, perfect pace and all that but this is not straight to the point.
Your a great videographer / VO, The humor you bring is refreshing. The time spent for the detail can in my opinion teach a short bus rider to R and R his own... Great job.
thank you sir 🙏
been watching this series since the first. this is how car channels on youtube should be done. no theatrics, no bs filler, just the car, the specs, and professional commentary
Impressive work, from content to editing and presentation. Convinces me to go ahead and get the 4 piston brembo. Don't think i will ever get to a point where i could fully utilise the stopping power of the 6 piston brembos. Now i just hope we dont have too wait so long for the next episode ❤
What about wilwood brakes not good enough ? Get "AP-racing" - 4 pistons full set designed in UK,
some folks already try them out and are working great for Shelby Mustangs & AC-Cobra..
4 piston is more than adequate for 99% of people for sure
@@poplaurentiu4148 ap/essex are top notch but almost certainly overkill for 99% of folks lmao
Thank you and the 4-pistons are a great upgrade, super affordable too.
my car come stock with Brembo 4 piston, i almost never drive really fast but anyways are the best brakes i ever had on a car
Your dedication to the 3v Mustang continues to impress. Also, that overlay on the tower hat while adjusting the damper got me feelin some kinda way. Superb editing!
These videos are stupidly in depth and well thought out. The quality and production of them is insane. Like not only is it beneficial to be thorough in case someone else is doing these mods like bigger brakes or building a 4.6 coyote killer but also amazing to see the production quality and have it form a really entertaining and appreciable video.
Honestly you hands down make the best content when it comes to the automotive space imo
Ok spambot.
@@ThunderAppeal Yes, beep beep boop boop. I am infact an extremely advanced bot. Beep beep.
It's more the best content when it comes to Mustangs. It's good to see the development of the car without clickbait BS.
@@TarmanYoloSwag How much did you get paid to write that?
This is clickbait bs.
@@ThunderAppeal what exactly was clickbait in this video?
I can't emphasize enough how good your videos are. The editing and the way you present info is stuff you see in channels with millions of subs. Keep up the great work!
Tbh I haven’t seen other channels, tv shows etc. to present to such a detail, filmed and edited so well, with visual effects. Literally everything is perfect, only downside is, it’s time consuming production and upload frequency is reduced, but it’s totally worth it.
Dude, videos like this one are exactly why I follow you and watch from the start of the video until the very end. You don't upload much at all, but when you do it's blatantly obvious that you put a TON of effort and time to getting the video perfect. I can't wait to see what happens with your viper after it's ported heads and cam setup, and I'm ITCHING to see how much power your GT gains up top on the N/A build but let's be honest, everybody's waiting for that boost. Love the videos man!
I couldn't agree with you more. I definitely want to see how much NA power he gets.
what a crazy amount of detail and effort

THE MAN IS BACK
This is the most detailed and well-edited mod video I've seen so far, especially when it came to all of the assembly for the big brake kit. Your work is always insanely well done and always worth the wait for the next video.
It's nice seeing a build like this. A certain type of humility with class. One of the best channels on YT
man popped out of nowhere and became the best automotive channel on youtube
The editing, the graphics, the voiceover is perfect. Your videos are some of the gold standard content I expect from someone like Gears and Gasoline. Excellent work.
The legends told of his return
I love how you somehow impart a sense of being there for the process. Your camera angles are fantastic, the voiceover is clear, yet thorough, and there are a few chances to chuckle along the way. To top it off, some of those shots (like the ones at 22:08) straight up look like renders. Amazing video, as always!
Dang this dude puts in the work into everything he does to make sure it's done perfectly. I love it! I aspire to be like you one day.
Nothing short of the best. You should do this full-time! Shout out to Avalon King, that stuff is the real deal.
What an amazing video, extremely detailed and thankful to have someone that knows what they are talking about and does the research to help the rest of us 3v/s197 owners learn more and more
Undoubtedly one of the best automotive creators on here. Thanks for sharing your passion with the rest of us!
Great content as always man! Never stop creating! The information, honesty, and quality of your videos are always top notch! Love them
What an incredible video! The production is amazingly well done, and the instructions are super clear! My buddy with an 09' 4.6 will want to see this video for sure!
Dude, welcome back. What an INSANE production value. You upped your game considerably. I don't know any other car related channel here that did what you just did. Incredible.
I watch a lot of car related videos on CZcams and this was one of the best I’ve watched. Your delivery was calm yet informative and the detail was great. Thank you.
What a fantastic video and great colour choice for the calipers! Four Eyes, you never disappoint. You make me wanna work on our cars.
thank you mitchi 🙏
Great video as always. Thanks for all the effort you took putting it together. And BTW, I wasn't really sold on your chosen brake caliper color when you first revealed it in the video, but it is definitely growing on me now that I see it on the car. Not that what any of us thinks matters anyway. It's your car. You do what you like. 👍👍
This man does excellent work. I respect his rational and systematic approach to the changes. I own the same car and really enjoy watching the journey he's taking this car through.
One of the best, if not the best automotive channel on the platform: Highly informative, entertaining, and easy to follow along with. Fantastic work!
Ok well played. I was waiting around for you to mention that the main benefit of big brake kits isn’t necessarily to decrease stopping distance, but rather more consistent stops with no fade over extended heavy brake usage.
the legend is back
When I thought the video couldn't get any better or exciting, you kept bringing in more very pleasant surprises. And of course great editing work, detail, and information and coverage of everything you did. I wish more youtubers had that level of creativity, dedication, strive to do everything the right way, and attention to detail etc.
Man I’m jealous of how good your editing is and how in depth your videos are. Always excited to see an upload
Really enjoyed the video. However, there are a few things I would like to add.
Larger brakes don’t necessarily improve brake distances. The stock brakes are more than enough to block the wheels (at higher blocking pressures than the performance brakes of course). The ABS takes care of the rest, ensuring the wheel slip is at an optimum for deceleration.
As you mentioned in the end, the main benefit is resistance to fading when driving on the race track. It would’ve been interesting to see the difference between stock and modified doing an adaption of the „Auto Motor Sport“ brake distance test, where the vehicle is braked from a certain speed 10 times in direct succession. The last few tests usually show worse performance as the brakes are beginning to be heat soaked. This would’ve been a quantifiable way of testing the new brakes performance when subjected to higher loads.
The first thing I thought when you mentioned you will also be installing coil overs, it that it would be interesting to see what the suspension changes alone do to the brake distance. Stiffer springs and lower Center of Gravity will result in far less pitching and therefore a more constant normal force on all tires. This will usually result in a more constant deceleration during the initial pitching phase and will improve the brake distance. I would even go as far as saying that this was the main reason for the improved brake distances with the new setup.
Changing the brakes obviously had a positive influence on the performance, but without a dedicated tuning of the ABS for the new tires and brakes, no significant performance increases can be expected. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the production quality. Keep up the good work.
You must have missed the part where he said he couldn't lock up the stock brakes
@@janeblogs324 I did hear this, but I refuse to believe that stock brakes aren"t able to block the wheels, even with bigger and softer tires. Stock brakes are designed to block the wheels even in fully loaded condition.
If you can't lock up the brakes then you have a major problem.
Avalon King Armor Shield X worked awesome for me, too. It was easy to apply, compared. Took more time to prep the paint than to do the coating. Mine is a 2014 w. factory BBP. 285/35/19s go on the BBP wheels so that's what I used. 2.3 TVS fixed the NA problem :)
Glad to hear it, indeed 95% of the work is prep. I think the biggest mistake people make is they don't give the coating sufficient time to cure.
@@Four_Eyes What wheels are those
Casually the best automotive CZcamsr out there!! Each video gets straight to the point and is full of valuable information. Thank you Four Eyes!!!
I thought I was going to skip through most of this video but I watched every bit of it. I appreciate that you got straight to the point, your video pace is excellent.
Bro this content is insanely good 😂
Also its great that you try to go for max NA power before putting a turbo in it. Excited to see how much the high compression engine will put out and also how it will sound 🎉😮
Very cool test. Tires will make a huge difference for sure, but recommendations:
Guarantee you'll see a vastly significant difference in stopping distance if you flogged your brakes from 60mph-10-60-10 6 or 7 times before the actual 70-0 test, theyll definitely come to life with some real heat.
Another thing that'd let you squeeze as much out of em as possible is a non-power/manual master cylinder with a bore size spec-ed specifically to your caliper piston sizes. Highly recommend a manual master if road course/autocross is your motorsport of choice, the pedal feel is dead consistent ALL the time.
^^ Well stated! Remember folks, big brake kits themselves do not change braking distance. Changing the pad or rotor materials or tires will make a difference. The only think a big brake kit will change is resistance to fade. And, brake cooling air ducting will help this a lot too (and can be a lot cheaper!). If you want to go bigger though, make sure your master cylinder is up to the job!
@@benkromphardt1916 Depends on era but yup with modern cars after roughly 1990 you'll expect to see a marginal change in distance like this test but ONLY when everything works in unison, modern stuff is engineered pretty well in the brakes department.
NOW.. when you're trying to track 1960s cars like the chevelle I have, a 315 tire and 14" wilwoods at all 4 corners makes LIGHTYEARS of a difference over stock brakes.
I am incredibly happy about finding this channel,so detailed and high-quality car content is something what’s hard to find. Watched whole video without checking timing at all. And your car is gorgeous!
Thank you for your content
i absolutely love to watch these videos over and over again
Can’t wait to see what you do with the max effort NA motor, that is my dream build for my 2003 Mach 1. I priced out a big bore stroker, 5.3L, with 13:1 compression, ported heads, cams, short runner intake and all of the other supporting mods. Hoping to get 550hp at the wheels
that's a helluva build
@@Four_Eyes yeah, I priced everything out including a new block at $15K-$20K but at that point with a full on NA build and everything is forged I can throw boost at it all day and get good returns with not a lot of pressure
This guy makes some of the best car content on CZcams. Keeps the video engaging the whole time. Hopefully he will be more consistent :D
Ok stupid spambot.
Glad to see the update. I'll wait that long again for this kinda quality in video. Just perfect editing. Great job
I’ve never see man a suspension video explained so well and fluently. This is wonderful thank you
Girodisc 🔥
Awesome video, only thing is bigger tires don’t mean shorter stopping distance. You’re still keeping the same load over the axel, without changing the tire compound the grip level is the same. You’re also adding more rotational inertia to stop
bookmark
We'll see, when I install much wider tires (305 front / 345 rear) I am definitely going to do this test again.
The amount of information and the clarity in which they are presented. You deserve couple million subs at least man!
The editing makes this video so satisfying to watch!!!
I did the 4 pot Gt500 calipers years ago on my 06, and it was one of the best upgrades I've made over the years. the stock 2 pots would start to fade pretty quickly on a good lap of autocross. The 4 pot I haven't been able to get them to fade yet. I've been looking at the 6pot upgrade myself.
$3000 for ten feet?? I'll pass.
He can nail that ten feet-which is a lot, btw-over and over and over. The stock set up sure can’t.
On track you will know the difference.
@@pizzamad3334 it's better than half a car length, and repeatable. Guessing Robert's never driven a car on track in anger.
