will the steps be about the same for the 2015-2017 models?
What are those jack stands called, do you have a link to buy them.
top speed run?
What do you use ATF for a manual box?
@@jevaissterling5749 the sticker on the gearbox says use ATF fluid at 16:08
this dude literally got video footage of every single step, mad respect, thats a lot of work. i just love a good instructional video
it really is - don't recommend it. and thank you 🙏
@@Four_Eyes probably why so many "how-to's" skip so much of the actual "how-to". Quality work
@@Four_Eyes worth the effort mate, banging job
Suggestion for next video: How to have a spotless garage, spotless engine bay, and spotless parts.👍
The lighting during the under car steps shows that he cares
No intro, no claim, no sponsor, no recap, no intermission, NO FLUFF. Love it, keep it up.
All the work that requires he should get money so he needs a sponsor
I don't even have a Mustang and I still watched the entire video because of how well done the filming and editing is. This is the gold standard for how-to videos!
I felt the same way!!! Haha awsome!
yep same here
4 eyes literally never disappoints. This will go down as one of the most impressive true 3v builds
Literally the best, most informative build series I've been able to find yet, that's still easy understand! Keep up the good work!
much appreciated justin 🙏
Hogwash. The best, strongest and toughest manual transmissions are, in no particular order
Ford Top Loader
Chrysler A-833
GM Muncie rock crusher.
PERIOD
This is my 50th year in automotive repair including transmissions....I know what Im talking about.
@@donreinke5863 huh?
@@justinwelkley283 Duh?
@@donreinke5863 4 gears is too little IMO. I would need minimum 5, but 6 is way better because the gear rations are very close and you get very consistent nearly identical RPM drops in every gear change.
This is the perfect install video. I don't have a Mustang and I enjoyed every second of it
Thanks man. Always appreciate you taking time to watch.
Hey greg, i bought an nb yesterday!
@@noncog1 🎉 heck yeah!!
@@Four_Eyes назови пожалуйста модель и марку этой коробки. Спасибо
These videos are insane, the amount of work that you must put into filming is incredible. I would be pumped to just successfully swap a transmission at all. Let alone film it, edit it, and MAKE IT LOOK EASY! Absolute legend
yeah ngl, it sucked. but thank you 🙏
@@Four_Eyes it will be well worth it in the long run.
@@Four_Eyes ive tried filming my work. dude, fuck that. i hope you make bank off these videos the effor you put in is unreal.
This was the most amazingly narrated, comprehensive, and well-shot how-to video I have ever seen. No music, no BS. Just a dude, some tools and his car. I don’t even own a Mustang nor do I ever search changing out a transmission. Thank for this, CZcams algorithm.
I don't have a car with a manual transmission (yet), but here I am, watching another car video at 8 in the morning. This is one of the best instructional videos that I have ever seen. Big ups.
Absolutely fantastic video... the tons of work you must have done planning, capturing, and editing are all evident here. I also really appreciate how you do this with handtools and a QJ. As a fellow "driveways and jackstands" guy, this is underrepresented in today's youtuber's who all have shops and lifts and sponsors. Finally, as an S550 guy, this is an awesome blueprint should I ever need it to swap out my MT82.
Bravo!
thank you v much johnny 🙏
Is this finally a mustang video I miss these 👏🏽👏🏽
Lowkey this is the kind of content that makes somebody more comfortable with working on a vehicle, at any capacity.
I've never even seen a Mustang up close so I have no idea why I'm watching this, but damn they look pretty easy to work on compared to other modern cars. Seems as simple as my Miata, kudos to the engineers. Edit: except the tuning the torque management part, that pretty alien to me.
The legend returns with another update in the best s197 build series on CZcams!
Algorithm brought me here, within the first 3 minutes I already knew the video was going to be good. Straight and to the point, no fluff. Some may criticize it for not being "entertaining" but keep up your unique style, there are plenty of other fluff videos on the internet.
This guy is so good at explaining stuff, I was halfway through the video untill I realised I don’t even own a Mustang.
This channel is freaking incredible, I can’t get enough. The attention to detail is unmatched
This is by far the best instructional video out there. Socket sizes, torque spec, step by step in a logical way with great lighting. Keep it up dude!
8:08 This level of videography and editing deserves a shout-out. It took him a minimum of several minutes to set up just that one shot, all to add a bit more clarity and save us a few seconds of viewing time.
BTW, I'm not trying to shame creators who don't have the time to do stuff like this. Most of you don't make money doing videos, so you don't need to apologize for saving your time. I just want to give a salute to mechanic filmmakers like Hagerty, Jafromobile, Donut, this guy, and others when they go the extra mile (kilometer... Kessel run... whatever) as a filmmaker. To me it's as beautiful as the cars.
Word of advice from a mechanic, ALWAYS replace the rear main seal, regardless of kms on it, and where possible, with an OEM one, and lube it with engine oil.
Very good video, welldone.
Finally more videos of the mustang 3V!!!
The best informative build video I ever watched, I didn't even notice that it was 20mins long, loved every part of it.
I neither have a Mustang, nor the means to DIY a transmission swap. But for gearheads, this is almost like an ASMR video. I watched the entire clip and was in awe! Top stuff! thank you kind sir!
Now I know how to swapa t56 into a mustang.
That 3 valve shifting at 7k is just incredible to hear.
I've watched hundreds of hours of vehicle and racing content. And I've even installed one of those in a Supra. This is HANDS DOWN the best step by step, with nothing left out, installation video I've ever seen. New sub!
This is the most straight forward, well shot, no bullshit transmission swap video. Great job!
thanks man 🙏
Best transmission install video i have seen with basically a floor jack. Crazy how everything was so clean, like from start to finish your hands were clean the whole time 😂
Production quality on these videos are insane
Good choice going with the 2.66 first gear option, a lot of people get stuck on the numerically higher gears and wind up putting down too much power with too high first and differential gear, basically makes first gear totally worthless.
Doesn't help that OEMs have done the opposite, they have a high final drive and first gear is low as hell, 4x or better.
Looking forward to your projects.
I like my 5.61 🤷♂️
But then I've got 3.07 axles (which will change soon
You’ve done it again four eyes😎 I don’t even own a 3V and I’m addicted to this quality content👍 Keep doin your thing!
I'm amazed at how thorough you were with everything. Great lighting, camerawork and voiceover too. This is the pinnacle of automotive DIY videos.
I’m installing a T56 onto an LS3 and couldn’t find any documentation. I’m a layman and this video is exactly what I needed and contained more info than I could have imagined while being concise and to the point. I can complete the job tonight now. Cheers man!!! Subbed.
These videos are awesome. I've been building my s197 for about 6 years now. It's come a long ways. These videos have helped me out alot! Keep up the good work. Always look forward to you posting about your mustang.
glad to be helpful and thank you for watching
I wish that'd upload more often, but on the other hand I'm glad that you always deliver awesome content and your videos are very well edited
This is so inspiring bro you dont even understand. The S197s are thanking your for this content❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Well. This was the absolute best instructional video in the realm of mechanics I've ever watched. Respect brudda
Even though I have no plans in the immediate future of doing a T56 swap or use it in anything, but it's nice to see a step by step in how to do this! Not many people would actually document let alone film it and do it with the torque specs and procedures.
Hell yeah man! Ive always wanted to do this with my 05. Looks like it was well worth it! Great tutorial on the install too, you deserve way more credit for the quality of your videos .
much appreciated brother
lmfao your youtube short 🤣
Man this is going to help a lot in the future. I wish we had video's like this at school. Great quality man! You never disappoint!
I don’t understand how you only have 60k subs you need more. Very informative and well put video. Absolutely love you’re channel !!!
As always, some of the BEST automotive content on CZcams. The production quality is insanity. What camera do you use? This inspires me to kick my butt into gear and upgrade my content - big time.
I did this swap on my Supra and have to say, MAD respect for being able to film the entire process. Holy crap that must have been a ton of work. Great Video! Also, I was able to stack my Quickjack rubber blocks to get enough clearance to slide the T-56 with a transmission jack under the car easily. It was initially too low to put both blocks at the same time, so I lifted the car up, put rhino ramps under all 4 wheels, lowered it added the extra blocks. It's really stable and saves you tons more clearance.
I have never seen such a comprehensive and easy to follow guide for working on a car, don’t even own a mustang and I watched it all the way through just because it was so good
The level of craftmanship & ingenuity combined with high-quality video content is beyond reproach!!!
Great tutorial man. A lot of tutorials touch on the important information but would leave out a lot of the little things a beginner would question. You touched on everything...some might suggest using medium locktite on a lot of the hardware to be sure it doesn't vibrate loose. This is a tutorial done the right way.
You deserve more credit for this video. Haven’t really decided what I want to do yet. I have a 06 gt with a procharger so I was thinking of just doing the engine and trans together so getting an 8 bolt crank and then doing a 6060 but if I do it separately and do the engine first but still want to use the stock trans for a bit then I can just do a t56 swap when needed. Thanks for the info!!
The rapid-fire torque wrench clicks are so satisfying 😂 great video man
I have to applaud your editing. It makes quite a lot of things really clear and understandable.
Great meeting you! You gotta post more!
literally did a double take when i saw this comment
coming to make bad financial decisions i see
Hey it's Dugger, this was an amazing step by step installation. I get impressed more and more with every video on the Mustang. Every single video you upload is spot-the-fuck-on! I just recently sold my red 06 GT and bought a sterling gray 13 GT, but I still am just as, and now even more excited to see the turbo kit installation and test drive. I absolutely dig everything about your Mustang build and progress. And I will be here til the end. You are the absolute best at doing these vids on the S197 '05-'09 Mustang platform, hands down. Now to my question that's been making me nuts for a CPL years now eheheheheh, will you be putting the car up for sale for more funding for your other projects? Don't yell at me lol, because I know you will have completed the ultimate mustang gt and will probably be keeping this amazing trophy car. But I just had to ask ok? And if so I'm first at the car!!!! Anyway lol, KUDOS brother mustang lover, you are doing great things. Keep the vids coming!!!!
I don't have a Mustang or a Tremec T56 and yet I watched this video beginning to end. Amazing guide!
You provided the best angled footage with the best information in the most straight forward way. In a short clip.
Been here before doing an entire driveline refresh for my old C5 Z06 race car. Yes, those plastic alignment dowels are garbage, and I always had issues reinserting the torque tube input shaft into the clutch/engine (the Vette is a rear transaxle, so there's an "torque tube" that runs to the back transaxle setup).
Wow! Thanks for making such a clear and precise how-to!
thanks for watching!
Best “how to” I have ever seen. I love how you showed the smallest details, like the clip on the lines.
You make the best videos , best descriptions , best instructions , best editing skipping fast forwarding , no bad music , no boring talk , no repeating yourself , you should make more videos on other interesting subjects .
much appreciate your comment, thanks samual 🙏
You make a daunting task seem doable. Glad to see you're still working on your s197!
Thanks Mike 🙏
Babe wake up, Four eyes just posted
In my automotive class, they show videos and explain everything so difficult but this I understand perfectly and it was fun to watch
I rarely like videos on youtube but i must say this has earned it. Love the video, keep this up and you will be huge on this platform!
Great video. Cinematography and commentary were on point. Can’t wait to see what it’s like with a turbo!
thank you and me too!
I bet it makes it feel like a whole new car! I definitely feel like the tr3650 is one of the biggest downfalls of the 3v’s
How so? It’s a great shiftings trans. Holds decent power. No small inexpensive trans will last with sticky tires and a heavy clutch.
@@calvinbrewster4778 The gear ratios suck lol
Wow, having watched so many car videos. The lighting and camera angles of this video are a herculean effort. Wonderfully done sir!
By far the best tutorial I’ve ever seen, very easy to follow. Great job 💯
Bro you did this on the floor with a cheap trans jack! That a boy!
Four Eyes! Been here since the beginning 🤘🏻 your videos are SOME OF THE BEST informational vids out there for the Mustang and cars in general!
insane quality videos man, really hoping you blow within a few months. you deserve it.
How is your channel so underrated?? You’ve earned in instant subscription, most well put together how-to ive ever watched.
Hugely underrated channel. This guy knows his stuff and presents it in a fantastic way.
this is definitely one of my favorite auto channels. always a good information-filled time. And for cars i dont own!
WOW! Great Job! One of the most thorough and clearest instructional videos I've ever had the pleasure of viewing!
Although I'll probably keep my 2007 GT's stock Tremec TR-3650, this video was still a joy to watch!
Four Eyes, your videos never disappoint. Informative and entertaining!
Saw your video of you giving a 2019 Bulllit the gapple bees menu. After my 2010 v6 3v swap is done, Im slapping a T56 in it. Your videos are so damn detailed and awesome.
I got that second hand satisfaction when i saw all the new parts together finally installed, nothing beats that feeling.
One of the best mustang videos ever made. Oscar winning.😁
Without a doubt, one of the best instructional videos out there. Well done !
You are making few, but so good videos. Quality before quantity. I love it!
Thank you so much for this video! Definitely the most in depth video I've found covering this installation process. The timing is fortuitous as I actually have a Magnum XL conversion kit for my 2018 Mustang GT on order from JPC Racing right now. JPC also arranged to supply a face plate (dog engagement) converted Magnum from Liberty's Gears over the standard one, which will allow me to make super fast shifts. Your video has me so pumped to get this conversion done!
I just got done doing this on my 2010 GT. I had to watch several other videos that were not nearly as helpful, and of course as soon as I get it finished you drop this absolute banger. You are the man for making this video. It would have helped me so much 2 weeks ago LMAO. I did this the exact same as you, except it looks like you got your car just a little higher than I could manage. I also did not change the trans, only the clutch. It took me so long to get the bell housing bolts off, probably because they haven't been removed for 13 years. Also getting the trans off the engine was nearly impossible. I gave up several times, but I eventually managed to kick its ass hard enough that it just gave up and released. The whole process was a real struggle for me, and I am just happy that it's over. No issues so far, so I think I got everything right. The point is, I feel your pain. This shit sucks without a lift. You're a demon for doing this under the car. Thank you so much for this informative, concise guide.
I absolutely love your gear shifting in the end. It almost felt like flat foot shifting.
You have an incredible channell that helps people learn so easily about the car technological topics we are interested in! Congradulations on growing so many subscribers in such a short time!
Probably the best how-to video I have seen. Definitely takes time to make such a video. Kuddos to you dude!
This dude deserves a medal for this video. Incredible job man!
I don't own a mustang. I probably never will, but i watched this entire video mesmerized. thanks!
Congrats 🎊 on completely putting out a video on one ☝️ of the best step by step videos on simplifying all complexities breaking it down and how to differentiate the tremacs , t56 magnum xl to the tr36 if I’m not mistaken, in a no non-sense get it done right the first time way , the patience you exhibited to put that thing together in your garage and finishing it ,and better work than a lot of shops ... bravo 🎉 bravo 👏 👏👏 thx 🙏 for sharing
Theres something so wholesome about finally getting a gearbox that you know will handle the abuse, best purchase I ever made was a 6 speed dccd swap for my subaru!
Wow thanks so much for all the detail. I got bored half way through but continued watching because I wanted your watch time to go up ❤️❤️
I don’t own a mustang & my C5 z06 already has a T56 but this video was so well put together I couldn’t help but watch it throughly. Amazing video like always.
Wow, wow, wow! Like everyone says, this is one of the best informative build series, period. Your work to make these videos put together must be phenominal! Keep going, you're the best, really appreciated. THANK YOU!!!
thank you very much 🙏
Okay, this has no right being this informative, I don't think I've seen car videos this far in depth on just a transmission before
I have to say, this is the greatest video ever. I watched every second. I've done tranny swaps before on my driveway but this is perfect for new people. Looking forward to what you do with the Viper
Excellent video. The fact that you did it on the floor is incredible. Had to replace my clutch but ended up piercing the exhaust system harness against the bell housing causing the oxygen sensor fuses to blow and cause a check engine light. Going to do it on the floor since I no longer have access to a lift
Absolutely bulletproof gearbox. One of the drivers I work for runs a t56 with an electric oil pump w/cooler. We also went with a Steeda sourced t56 short shifter. The 3650 that came in your car was actually pretty decent but with the power you're gonna make - great upgrade. Love the vids man.
Best transmission swap i've seen on youtube so far. Was well worth it to see the pony handle RPM's above 7000 at the end!
I don’t have a Mustang but that was the easiest watch ever. I can’t imagine how much time went into filming, wrenching and editing. Bravo, sir.
My clutch went out in my 3 valve, I followed your video step by step. Your video really helped.
We missed you!!! Like we wish you made more content cause it’s always very educational and exciting! Love that you are building the 3v plate form. Please keep the content coming, and sooner please!!!! Lol can’t wait til you are making serious power!
The quality of your videos is absolutely top-notch. You are a gift to CZcams. Moar Viparrrr
Your channel is underrated man! I love it. Thanks for the awesome video because I am trying to do this to my SN95 Mustang.
