Why Is China SCARED of US Troops in Taiwan

  • In a bold move, U.S. troops have been stationed on Taiwan's islands, directly challenging China's claim over Taiwan. This deployment marks a significant policy shift since 1979, potentially angering Xi Jinping and stirring controversy. As tensions escalate, the presence of Green Berets alongside Taiwanese forces on strategic islands like Penghu and Kinmen highlights the U.S.'s commitment to Taiwan's defense against Chinese aggression. This development raises questions about the future of U.S.-China relations and Taiwan's autonomy. 🌏💥🔒 #USInTaiwan #USTroopsInTaiwan #Geopolitics #MilitaryPresence #TaiwanStrait #TaiwanStraitTensions #XiJinping #GreenBerets #USChinaRelations #StrategicDeployment #USChinaRelations #GeopoliticalChess #MilitaryStrategy #GreenBeretsInTaiwan #XiJinping #StrategicIslands #DefenseReadiness #PowerProjection

      If Perverse joe had done that in Ukraine in stead of declaring that he would not lift a finger if the country was attacked, there would never have been a war now. But by not doing it but making his stupid declaration, Putin took it as an invitation to attack. This just goes to proof, that the quality of a president has world historic importance.

      It's a well known strategy known as the "trip wire".. We've used it in Berlin during the Cold War where a few hundred or thousand American soldiers were stationed on the very border near the Wall in Berlin. We knew it, as well as the Soviets, that this relatively small group of soldiers wouldn't make a bump against the invading Soviet armies that were sure to start any attack on the West by invading the West Berlin..
      American soldiers were there as a trip wire meant to trigger a massive cryout from the American people when they see American boys slaughtered or killed by the Soviet advancing armies...
      They were trip wire, millions would come...
      It's the same with Taiwan.. It is a message to China - "If you attack Taiwan you won't be able to do it without killing American soldiers. And killing American soldiers comes with the consequences of an arriving aircraft carriers, strategic bombers, nuclear submarines and around 1 million ready troops (for a start..)

    This is actually a very smart move by America. This will stop a war from happening in the first place. 200 American troops cannot threaten China at all, but they draw a red line. 200 American soldiers killed by China would certainly get America involved in a bigger war China doesn’t want. They did this just after WW2 in Europe as the Cold War started. They deployed enough troops to not threaten the Soviets, but enough troops that made them think twice of attacking. If they did the same thing with Ukraine, Russia would have never invaded. Russia could see future victory against just Ukraine, but if they had to kill American soldiers and also face NATO, they wouldn’t have invaded

    To be clear, both the Ming and Qing dynasties never controlled the entirety of Taiwan (Formosa). This was true even when Taiwan was a province from 1887 to 1895, before the ROC (which would go on to overthrow the Qing) or CCP even existed. When the PRC was established on the mainland the ROC fled to Taiwan, Taiwan was still under Japanese control. When the Japanese renounced sovereignty over Taiwan, they didn’t state who they were transferring ownership to.

      @Chou-seh-fu Před měsícem +4

      My understanding is that there's also a political reason for China to leave it alone.
      Taiwan (a.k.a. the Republic of China) currently controls Taiwan (the island and also the province), Kinmen island (a tiny piece of Fujian province) and the Matsu islands (tiny pieces of Zhejiang province).
      As long as the ROC continues to hold Kinmen and Matsu, it can maintain the pretense of being "China". But take those islands away, and all the ROC holds is Taiwan province.
      And if the ROC = Taiwan (and Taiwan alone), then why wouldn't the Taiwanese declare formal independence? Those little islands are the last territorial ties between the ROC and China.
      Anyways, that's what I've heard people speculate about PRC thinking.

Also, once the first island chain is breached at Taiwan, the PRC submarines will have a new base and opening to enter the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean and move right up to Hawaii and the US west coast. Lastly, Western and US dependence on high-end semiconductor chips made in Taiwan will compel the US to defend Taiwan, because without those chips, the US will be at the PRC's mercy.

They are small and flat that you cannot hide anything on them - meaning being easy target for rocket and air stikes - especially considering that China has more rockets then forces on Panghu could shoot down. It would be expensive, but there is no actual need to land there, before nearly all forces on the island would have been destroyed.
