They've never bin in a war. They got slaughtered in ww2.
This is patently false. China is likely the bloodiest patch of land on the planet. The slaughter they endured in WWII pales in comparison to the self-inflicted slaughter that has taken place there over the millennia. You see the CCP and say they have no experience fighting, but heck you have to fight just to survive there. You either fight there or get taken advantage of till you are completely used up in a way that we can hardly even fathom in the west.
Do I think China would be 'competent' in a modern war? Hardly. They are clearly inferior in tech, tactic, and most importantly logistics. That doesn't mean they don't have the capacity to fight though. It also doesn't mean that they can't endure loss on scale far beyond the acceptability of the western mindset. This means regardless of current power parity they still have teeth. Be careful of putting too much stock in the talking heads. I think the biggest thing that gets overlooked in the china vs US conflict is that the chinese population is oppressed and surveilled, they do not have many freedoms. In any conflict the soldiers are not fighting for their own well being and freedom, they are fighting to keep a system of surveillance in place.
In the US there is an understanding amongst the soldiers that they are fighting to keep the very freedoms we love, they are fighting for a good cause.
I think that difference in motivation will always result in the US having the upper hand because when push comes to shove, why are Chinese soldiers fighting to win a war when they can’t even speak freely at home?

I think to China's credit...Xi knows the score on Taiwan, and until they have an extremely capable army AND navy, picking a fight over Taiwan is foolish errand. And we can thank the Russo-Ukrainian War for demonstrating just how hard invading another country can be, let alone doing a maritime operation 100+ miles away from the mainland. So in the meantime, they'll just continue to apply diplomatic pressure. In fact, I'm surprised China doesn't spend more time clamoring for Manchuria, which is RUSSIAN controlled at the moment, but they desperately want to take back control of it

Remember, they are buying gold up at the height of its value in very very large amounts which suggests they are prepping their economy for Western sanctions and the only reason why Western sanctions would be initiated is if they invaded Taiwan or initiated their secret defence agreement with Russia in regards to Ukraine.
Western countries can still sanction gold held by CCP. Each gold bar has a unique identification number.

Yes one-child policy gave birth to a weak Chinese infantry.
Mt. Inkster defined three key area of contention as including Technology, Trade, and Taiwan. I suggest a fourth...the 'Nine (now Ten?) Dash Line'.
This is manifesting itself in aggressive naval 'shoving matches' between the the Philippines and the CCP at the Second Thomas Shoals.
This flashpoint could turn 'hot' a lot faster than chip wars, dumping EVs on EU and U.S. markets, or a planned invasion of Taiwan.
Educated yourself, when Spain transfer Philippines to US, no tiny land in SCS.
For EVs, it is not dumping, it is competitive. It is shame to say dumping when you cannot compete with it.
Taiwan is part of China, your government cannot deny it as well.
@@Qiushishuo #1)Your first line contain 3 disconnected sentence fragments. It is incoherent. What does 'no tiny land in SCS' attempt to convey?
#2) Yes, I am aware of the historical ties between Spain, the Philippines, and the U.S. There was no need to tell me this or post a disparaging barb: 'Educated yourself'.
BTW, the correct spelling is 'educate'. 'Educated' implies past tense. Your instruction to me should be in the present or future tense.
#3) We disagree on 'dumping'. Among the 'free market' countries, a distinction exists between 'competition' and 'fair competition'. The CCP's use of 'State Owned Enterprises' (SOE) provides many mechanisms for subsidized manufacture. The extensive use of state sponsored subsidies hidden within SOEs is one of the primary areas which President Xi encounters when he meets with world leaders.
#4) When China was admitted to the WTO, the U.S. was a sponsor. I firmly supported it as well. But there were terms which WTO members agree to which include restrictions on subsidies. While it's true that all countries test and sometimes break those terms in specific areas, China does this far more extensively than other nations. This includes subsidies, a currency exchange rate that is not based on the free market, intellectual property theft, etc.
#5) Yes, Taiwan is part of China. Even my best friend's wife, who is from Taiwan, agrees. (And, this is despite her father having been a general in Chiang Kai-shek's army). The dispute centers more on the CCP having never governed Taiwan. Western democracies have had long historical conflicts with communist, authoritarian governments attempting to subjugate other nations.
Half of NATO nations were once either ruled by the Soviet Union or under considerable imposition. Several others (Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and others still under Russian influence) have expressed interest in joining NATO. Think about what it says when so many who were once forcibly ruled by an authoritarian government, have either left or want to leave and actively join an alliance against their former leader. Now, consider thee ex-Soviet nations in relation to Taiwan. Taiwan also wants to distance itself from the CCP's insidious, authoritarian, one party rule.
Let's jump back to 2001, when China was admitted to the WTO and consider two possible ways in which Taiwan could join China. One approach was for China to become more open and progressive over the last two decades. This is what we had hoped when we admitted China into the WTO. Had this occurred, Taiwan would have VOLUNTARILY agreed to be one with mainland China - China's 23rd administered province. The world would have been one with it.
The second approach is what we have today, which can be characterized by the CCP's violation of the Hong Kong 'One Country, Two Systems' agreement. This demonstrated a belligerent determination by the CCP to force its agenda rather than negotiate an amicable agreement, suppress democracy and free speech. If you're Chinese, you are not even allowed to be on CZcams, let alone exchange viewpoints with me, and must illegally use a VPN to skirt their restrictions. What the CCP did in Hong Kong hardened both Taiwan's and the west's stance against the CCP.
The CCP is also hurting its international relations by insisting on their utterly absurd 'Nine Dash' (now Ten Dash) claim to the south China sea. This makes no more sense than if Greece were to claim the entire Mediterranean because of some map. The people of the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, and others, fished and used other resources from these waters, uncontested for MULTIPLE MILLENNIA. Yet now, the CCP claims to own the waters more than 1,000 kilometers away from the Chinese mainland??? This is utterly absurd. China's coast guard looks like total A-holes chasing Philippine boats with water cannons.
There is a lot to respect and commend about China. But president Xi's choice of direction is out of date with the times. Every time Mao Ning speaks about some issue of conflict, she frames it as though China's efforts are entirely generous, while the other side is entirely at fault. Her stance sounds comical when small Filipino fishing vessels are being forced out of their ancestral fishing zones by giant Chinese coast guard boats and large fleets of Chinese fishing vessels. Mao Ning may try to explain the expanded U.S. military presence in the Philippines being prompted by some coercive U.S. diplomacy. But the reality is the CCP's belligerent Nine/Ten Dash line policy was the driving motivation.

I have doubts about China's ability to manufacture high level electronic sensor equipment, let alone medium level metallurgy, such as chassis for road vehicles, gun barrels etc. is definitely sub-par. Actually, not as well made as Cold War era Soviet militarily equipment, suprisingly. However, i think there is an explanation for this. The West, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan (and Russia during the Soviet era) maintained quite high standards on metallurgical, chemical and electronic engineering. While CCP China has improved this, it has started from a very basic level from the 1980s, and with an oppressed and significantly underpaid and overworked manufacturing workforce, even in the growth times, has not improved QAQC processes in engineers and workers alike. Arguably, it has gotten worse under the current Xi Jinping dictatorship. So the average PLA soldier is not well trained or as well equipped with good working equipment as thought.
why the ccp start a off shore bank ? 200 miles from the usa ? is it full of gold ?
Haha... don't believe your own propaganda...the Chinese does not think like an Anglo Saxon...you would not have the heighten tension if they did...
What most experts and amateurs alike neglect to recognize is game theory and total immersive war simulation based on continuous data and sensor streams. It is an attempt to provide a clear picture on how a war given a strategic scenario would play out. A crude version using mathematical concepts was used in WW2. Obviously it grossly over estimated the Axis powers capacity to sustain operations. China most likely used its massive computing power to get very very close to real-time accurate simulation and IT'S NOT GOOD. No matter what technology used or tactics, they can't stop the use of a wide spectrum of nuclear munitions. Thus, the problem is paradoxical; meaning on the one hand American inference is intolerable and the other military options are more catastrophic.
