I work in intensive outpatient mental health, most often with individuals with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, and it honestly just makes me really sad to see people who so obviously need help and higher care are just left out there to their own devices, which is how people like this end up. The system is just awful
Exactly what I was thinking. It's sad to see so many people slip through the cracks in the system, but Daniel's case seems to be particularly tricky because he doesn't seem to want the help he's being offered. If they find that he has the capacity to make his own decisions they can't keep him in a facility against his will even if he would benefit from it. It's so sad to see but as long as he can make his own decisions there's not much anyone can do 😕

I'm right there with ya. I started really side eyeing Bob when he sent Danderson to California. Daniel had just beat on him again...... the infamous "the motel threatened to kill me" incident. Because Bob had talked to Ivan about sending him there & Ivan said that's a bad idea and that he couldn't stay with him (I think Ivan was traveling with family in his rv or something like that),and Bob sent him there anyways. Bought him a plane ticket and gave him cash. I can understand him wanting distance for a while but he literally sent him across the country to be the problem of others. It's called having empathy for someone who's very sick. I have a friend who suffers from psychosis and it's very hard to get him to believe anything I'm saying when I'm trying to help him. But that doesn't mean I should just give up. Daniel needs to be in a psych ward and I'm not sure why he hasn't been in one for a longer period of time.
