New Forest Country Walk Beaulieu River from Pig Bush Car Park round

- Our video is a guided circular walk in the New Forest, Hampshire. Starting from Pig Bush Car Park we walk across heathland to Yew Tree Heath and the Beaulieu River. We follow the river to King’s Hat Car Park then across heathland to Culverley Car Park. We return to Pig Bush, just over half a mile, via the B3056 road. We come across cattle with calves and many forest ponies some of them with foals.This is an easy flat walk on grass and gravel
footpaths/tracks which are faint at times and some tarmac road.
Elevation: approx lowest point 5m (16ft) approx highest point 28m (92ft) approx ascent 54m (186ft).
Approx 5.2 miles allow 2 - 2½ hours using OS Explorer Map OL22, New Forest. This walk is done clockwise.
Start point: Pig Bush Car Park on the B3056 near Beaulieu.

Ugggh weeks and weeks into lockdown, thank goodness for people like you who share their walks with us all - we're New Forest folk born and bred, B U T my husband and I moved out 3 years back, only a few miles to Christchurch, but too far for us to legitimately drive for a walk in the forest and wow are we missing it - you took us to a part we know so well, so beautiful to see it again today - thank you so very very much, we even thought we recognised some of the ponies :-)

Hi Sunrise Seven, we have been down to the New Forest a few times and has always been so green and beautiful but last summer because of the heat everywhere was just grey or brown but the bonus to that was a lot of the animals would stand or sit quietly in the shade so you could get close to them. We hope to get back there this summer if we are lucky. All the best The Taxi Driver

Hi Andrea, thank you. It was fabulous in the New Forest you just hear a twig snap or a rustling in the trees and a pony would step out often followed by many more. In our next walk in the New Forest we stop for a cream tea at an old railway station which has been turned into a cafe and we had great fun watching some pigs and piglets trying to keep cool at the side of the road. Hi Lutt'nPiet thank you. We did this walk in the really hot summer of 2018 it was very dry and scorched. It is hard to film in the New Forest because it is so flat but we did our best. We love the forest and hope to be back down there this year to do some more filming. All the best The Taxi Driver
