Lake District Country Walk Robinson and Hindscarth from Little Town round

- Our video is a guided circular walk in the Lake District, Cumbria. Starting from Little Town in the Newlands Valley, not far from Keswick, we climb up to the summit of Robinson and return over the summit of Hindscarth. This is a hard walk on grass, gravel and tarmac paths/tracks, some of them stony and rocky. There are some steep inclines and declines.
Elevation: approx lowest point 136 m (447 ft) approx highest point 732 m (2403 ft) approx ascent 954 m (3131 ft).
Approx 6.7 miles allow 3 to 4 hours using OS Explorer Map 0L4, The English Lakes, North-western area. This walk is done anti-clockwise.
Start point: Little Town small free car park area at the bridge.

I don't know why in most of his videos he only seems to get a few likes. this video is great. a lot of effort was put in to the walking the route and videoing but 2000 odd views and only some 50 likes. people don't seen to like stuff when its made in a pure and honest way. i think his videos are the best. not full of jingles and jangles and fancy video overlaying graphics. i like the way he describes the route and also some of his expressions he uses. simple made video best way to get the job done.

Excellent video. I like the way you show the start of the walk clearly , not many video makers do this. Finding the start of any footpath even with a map is always a frustration if you have not done the walk previously.
Thank you WildPhotoShooter we do appreciate feed back. We know the start is the hard bit so that's why we do our best to make it clear, we must admit we struggle ourselves sometimes. Thank you Phoebe for your comment. We have been very lucky with the weather in the Lakes this year allowing us to do Hallin Fell a very small low walk for families and day trippers from the Ullswater Ferry and the next day doing this hard high walk up Robinson and Hindscarth for people who want be a bit more adventurous, both had wonderful views. We never know what we will come across while filming but we always try to film as many domestic animals and wildlife as we can. On our next walk we had great fun watching the antics of the donkeys. Hi Andrea, we have done a few hard ones in the Dales this year but to do two peaks, Robinson and Hindscarth, in one go in the Lake District was just about as much as we could manage without running out of daylight but what a fabulous views we had all day long. Our next walk is back down in the New Forest where we stopped at a little place called Sway for the second time in an old converted Chapel with a graveyard for a view outside our window. The New Forest was the place where William the Conqueror went hunting deer with his Knights after the Norman invasion in 1066. We don't think the forest has changed that much since then. The New Forest is very big and as you will see in our next four films it was very dry this year, not a lot of grass or water to be had which has allowed us to get very close to the horses and donkeys that roam at will round the forest. As you will see we had some great fun filming the antics of the donkeys in our first video and just recording everyday life in the New Forest. All the very best for the New Year John and Janice

Hi Margaret Hello America. We are very lucky to live in North Yorkshire and to have access to many many walks within a couple of our hours of where we live. When we did this walk we stopped in the lively and friendly market town of Keswick in the Lake District. We did not take the conventional route as we started walking Robinson but walked up by the waterfall so people can see how beautiful it is, then veered off right to continue to the summit. As you can see the views were stunning we then dropped down into the dip and as we looked up in front of us there was Hindscarth. As we started climbing we knew we were in for a hard slog as we had stopped a bit to long drinking in the pubs the night before but slowly after many pauses we made it to the top. What another stunning view we were tired but buzzing with excitement when we made it down to the bottom. Later we were once again in the pubs drinking with friendly local people who made us very welcome. We hope to be back filming in the summer. All the best from England The Taxi Driver

Hi Lana, we decided to do this one when we were in the pub the night before and didn't realise it was quite so steep. The hardest way up was beside the waterfall which gave us chance to film some wonderful views. We think this walk is one of the top ten best walks in the Lakes. All the best The Taxi Driver

What a great video, going to the lakes soon was planning to do cat bells but not sure now with seeing this looks like a great walk the views look stunning how long did it take you to do cheers.
Hi j dee, Catbells would take you about 3 hours to walk but you could shorten it by walking to the summit and return on the same route that you went up rather than by the shore of Derwent Water, which a lot of people do. This walk you have commented on, Robinson and Hindscarth, is 6.7 miles and is a much harder walk than Catbells and would take about 4 hours. If you have watched this video thinking it was Catbells please take a look at our Catbells video and you will see that it is an easier one. All the best The Taxi Driver
