I think Cooper is fabulous and the frame is just right! I love zinnias! The seeds are easy to plant, not very deep, and they bloom all summer with lots of colors. Sweet peas are cute little flowers that grow on a vine in various colors. Then there are daisies, which sometimes are harder for me to grow, but I love them and they were in my wedding bouquet!

Love your new releases! Cooper is fabulous! He's on my list to stitch because he reminds me of the African Grey we cherish in our family. My favorite flower is the lily of the valley. I grew up with it in abundance and have loved it all of my life. It is a tuber and can be planted dry root or transplanted from an existing bed. It likes semi shade better than full sun. Once it is established it will grow without care and spread. Lovely flower, delicate scent. I know it is considered poisonous to many animals, but I have never known any animal, wild or pet, to touch it.

  • @marleenoceanbreeze6510

Cooper is gorgeous!! Great colour conversion. He is a most handsome bird, with some flirty attitude. Your postal bird pillows are adorable. Coneflowers (butterflies like them) and coreopsis are easy garden plants. Both are perrenials, will over winter and don't require much care beyond watering and deadheading. Also pretty is campanula, which will also overwinter. For non perrenials, geraniums come in so many colours and varieties. They bloom from spring to November, and give great bunches of colour. They won't overwinter, although there are ways to get them to bloom again the next year but I've never bothered. Take care, and happy stitching.

My favorite flower to plant in my yard are peonies, they come in so many different colors, I plant them in little hanging baskets for the front and back porch area , and tiny buckets next to the stairs. You're funny. You made me laugh out loud several times and that felt good. I do, in fact, think about things, first that I won't take when I downsize, but then inevitably, I think about what will go to the nursing home with me. I do have more than a couple of things I have stitched that would be hard to leave behind. 🙂 Cooper is beautiful! I love the floss you used for the letters. As for favorite flowers, I have a bed of purple dutch iris (I live in Georgia) that bloom faithfully every year with no care at all. They are always beautiful.

Thanks for a fun-filled video! I liked the tips and explanations of how you are stitching the Red Troublemakers piece. I love to plant Cosmos in my flower garden. In my area they are a later summer bloomer and attract tons of honeybees. Cosmos can reseed themselves, so keep that in mind. I cracked up laughing at your comment about what pieces will be going with you to the nursing home. It's actually a clever idea! Have a lovely summer everyone!

The easiest flower to grow for me is the geranium. It is very hardy in the heat in California. The California quail is so much fun to watch. They walk so funny, then they start running when they see you. Lol. Cooper looks great! I agree, take him to the rest home. 😂❤

  • @sherylrowe228
    @sherylrowe228 Před rokem

Cooper is amazing and I really love your finish. Also I LOVE your airmail series. Love love love.
my favorite no fuss flower is the sunflower. They are no fuss because I don't plant them. They are in the bird seed that we feed the birds in my back yard and they somehow manage to spread them all over the backyard. My husband refuses to mow over anything that looks like it will bloom. He mows around them. So they are given ample time to find their footing all over the yard.
As for plants that I actually do intentionally plant - irises are my favorite. I have both Louisiana irises in my shady, wet bed and I have Dutch irises in containers. It takes a year or so for them to get established but then I don't have to worry about them until I need to separate them which can take years. I'm all for minimizing work. I like caring for beds, but I also like sitting and looking at the birds, squirrels, bees and blooms. Also gardenias. My yard smells heavenly right now. My gardenia bushes are almost to the top of the house. I would look at blooms that come back every year if you have time. That way half of your work is already done!

Flowers. Plant loads of Nastursiums, they are bright and colourful, oranges, reds, yellows all in the same plant and they bloom well into the fall if you deadhead them as needed. You can also eat the flowers and seeds in salads and they grow their own seeds for the next year. They have some that grow on a vine like plant now, some “giant” ones but whatever one you grow they are just cheerful long after many spring and summer flowers are dead or scraggly.
I enjoyed the video, lots of great content, I giggled remembering how “careful” you were about getting a pet a few years ago and now you have two cats that you obviously love🥰.
Love that you support youth that get thrown onto the street when they still need help and guidance to start a successful adult life. I’ve volunteered with young Moms who need help , don’t have family or peers to guide them as they begin to parent themselves, or maybe they have immigrated and just need someone from this country to help them learn about resources available . Maybe I’d just give the kids a bath and put them to bed so Mum could actually have a bath or spend some needed bonding time with new baby. Whatever identified them as needing support through our birthing hospital.
Looking forward to next video. 🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

Wattle flowers are my favourite. They are an Australian native and known as “nurse trees” because they fix nitrogen in the soil, grow very fast and so provide food and shade for smaller trees. They bloom in winter when everything else has died and the fragrance is hard to describe - sort of like a fresh linen smell and quite subtle.

Zinnias are great flowers here. Siw them, they grow, the seeds are easy to gather, and you sow them the next year. They draw butterflies and bees and I love them. You saw Colorado Stitcher cross stitch camp has a bird badge and June is stitch a bird, right??? You must know this. Can't think of birds and not think of you. Saw a shoe-bill something or other bird and it was so quirky you immediately came to mind.

So nice having a chance to sit down with you this morning. I love Cooper! He's so impressive, and so is the frame. Love it. As for no-fuss flowers, I have to say my herb garden impresses me just as much as the wildflowers, and you don't have to worry about spreading seeds every year to get results. Sage is my current favourite since the gorgeous purple flowers attract all our local bees. Thyme is also quite impressive as it can withstand lots of time between watering (oops). Hope you and your fam are all well and can't wait to see what you have planned this summer!

Camomile is about the only thing that reliably comes back from year to year and seems to thrive wherever it winds up. My go to flower is the zinnia followed closely by Cleome. Cleome will self sow every year. It likes a cold winter clime (if you start with seed, you will refrigerate your seeds for a couple of weeks before starting in a seed pot but once you get them going in the garden, be sure you have a nice little area to let them self seed in and you will never have to start them again😊) and does well in a warm, humid summer climate. Good luck!

My favorite flower that's no trouble is probably Columbine. They reseed themselves and literally all one has to do is snap off the bloom branches after they turn brown and they make millions of seeds to give bunches away. Believe me, millions will also be on the dirt for next year. Cleome is a close second and same deal with reseeding but it does grow huge stalks that have to be removed after freezing. Either of these have a huge impact in looks. Columbine for a month in the spring. Cleome bloom from mid June or so till freezing. You probably don't want to ask me flower questions unless you want an excess of info 😂

I am either the flowers killer or it’s just to do with the harsh conditions of our Australian balcony. Everything is getting killed here. So good to catch up with you! I will definitely be shopping for thread with you once I move and no longer have an LNS. Love Cooper! He is gorgeous!
I’m not a gardener yet, but will be doing some at my new house. I have been able to grow mint really well in a container. It’s a pretty green and it smells wonderful and taste great in iced tea. I loved the green fabric, it’s my favorite color and named after me! 🤣

Cooper is gorgeous. Definitely nursing home-worthy. Hey--it's something we need to think about. There are so many beautiful flowers that are not high maintenance. I love peonies, Japanese iris and hostas. But rhubarb!! Oh I wish I knew someone who grew it. Or that I could be successful. Let us know how that goes.

I love to plant daffodils as my no fuss flower. They come back every year and multiply so I do t have to worry about adding each year.

I've not had much success PLANTING any flower in my yard, really - the poppy seeds I laid out last year and failed to water were a bust - but I sure love the bleeding heart flowers that pop up in the front garden bed all of their own accord.

Steph, Cooper is amazing! And I am in love with the Air Mail Birds!! Dang, I can't believe I missed the finishing kit for March... I was stalking the site for it to come back in stock, lol. Thankfully I got everything I need to stitch & finish up May. They are so good. I'm also chugging away at my CM Designs( Chameleon) pattern that you MADE me buy & start immediately, that's the first full coverage I'm attempting. Thanks for that, I guess... hahaha. I always have the best luck with wave petunias in the garden. I love geramiums too, they feel so vintage, but mine never look as nice as I expect them to... so I'll try again this year! Last year my favorite flower was the zinnia I planted, it made for so many beautiful cut flowers throughout the season. Happy gardening & stitching of course!

Just watched you for the first time! What a hoot! Lol Too freaking adorable. And the stitching is fabulous too 😂. I have to admit I'm a sunflower girl. I find all kinds of different sizes and colors. I like to make some sort of design w sizing and colors ad well. But I have just tossed them all in a square patch before. And it turned out super cute. I try to save some of the seeds from year to year. But if the birds are enjoying them, I just leave them. And now I need a cooper........🐦

Cooper is awesome. I received my air mail birds from you yesterday. I'm going to use one of them for Colorado Cross Stitchers summer camp. I don't do much with my flower beds anymore. If you have shade or partial shade Hostas are pretty easy. I still have daffodils coming up every year that I planted many years ago. I also love rhubarb and just made some rhubatb sauce on Tuesday. Take care.
