Yvette is such a nurturer❤. I love it! And I get her desire as a mom to keep her kids encouraged and not throwing cold water on their enthusiasm. She wants them to "want to" keep going. Not give up. It's a beautiful thing. Glen's desire and approach is valuable as well. Helping the kids develop the character of hard work and just "do it". Not because you "feel like it," but because you said you would. Love the differences. That's why two are better than one and He makes all things beautiful in His time (Ecc. 3:11; 4:9). Shout out to single parents (been there with two wonderful sons).😉 Praying 🙏your efforts are blessed and continued success!

Great episode guys. With me, I always try to do the best and do it all for my kids, and maybe end up being a hindrance in hindsight. Sometimes it's so hard to see them struggle so I step in and help instead of really letting them figure it all out on their own.

I have recently started listening to the podcast but I just wanted to affirm you guys for how simple , genuine yet normal your pursuit for one another is (both individually and as a couple) .
I think there's a beauty in love shining through the normal, the struggle and just through life in it's unique but genuine way .
Yvette in your growth don't put yourself or merely think of doing better but celebrate every inch you take which you're already doing but just to say we also see it and appreciate you for it.
Glen I appreciate you for how you pursue love and understanding through yourself and how you aim reciprocate this with your wife and kids.

Hearing Yvette's explanation about allowing them to make decisions on their own- mind blowing. In my marriage I often tell my husband what he should do in advance. Like recently I told him maybe a year ago to begin exercising for the time when he would have to go to the police academy. He did not listen. I nudged him so much! I told him a few months ago, and I told him over a month ago. A month ago he received an acceptance letter to the academy. I told him to prepare then, he did not listen.1 week ago I asked him to at least start trying to do the exercise requirements. He started and he is not able to do the amount of push ups needed. Now he's stressed out and upset everyday. He's talking about giving up, because the physical test is on Sunday. I feel like he's upset with me, but I warned him. Now I wish I hadn't warned him. 🤔
