Gaslighting came from an old movie where they had ‘Actual’ gaslights in the home and the husband would manipulate the lights in the house causing the wife to think she was going crazy when in fact HE was the one changing it and telling her she’s tripping. They make you feel like your reality isn’t what it is and you’re crazy for thinking it.

I saw that movie.
What stood out to me was her preface on choosing him as a partner because he’s a believer, and goes to church regularly. I can’t tell you how many times I gave more/ undue credit to a suitor on whether or he professed Jesus as if it automatically made him compatible as a husband. Character matters and we don’t vet it thoroughly enough. Having the same faith may get homie in the door but it won’t close behind him if he’s not also a decent, responsible, trustworthy and overall compatible human.

I think y’all should find some more eclectic kids looks and show them to Riah. He’s definitely a fashion forward kid. It may be a gift. He’s probably one of the creative kids.
Glad you brought the actual definition of “gaslight”. A lot of the therapists I watch refer to Yvette’s definition while popular media is more aligned to what Glenn described. Really easy to misinterpret

I tell my wife this all the time. These kids behind us are just not as mature. It was part of the reason why I couldn't watch insecure cause I'm like bruh y'all too old for this. Lol.

I like that Glen still just enjoys looking at his wife. I laughed out loud at the airplane segment. Also, I agree, this couple is not ready for the work one baby takes, let alone the work that children take.

Not being able to keep a job is him showing you who he is. Plus not paying bills on time.

While I do honor my parents and step parent for their work and financial support, I have to be honest with myself in order to move forward. I wasn’t wanted.
And as a 30-year-old who was not wanted as a child, if you do not want kids don’t have them. Do whatever you have to do to keep yourself from having children. I have so many issues that stem from a childhood of not being wanted as a child. Including a huge, a huge, therapy bill and I am needing more therapy.
People would always tell me that oh just fine and Jesus is the answer, but sometimes Jesus leaves you on healed and your love to pick up the pieces yourself don’t have kids if you’re not ready for them.
Your children will be full of anxiety and depression, they will not know who they are. They will have low self-esteem they will be suicidal. They will have an insecure attachment, style and inability to connect with others.
Do not have children if you do not want them and that starts with *knowing yourself*.
Slow down and stop riding the waves of emotions enough to think clearly, if you’re not loving yourself and your spouse, you do not have the capacity to love a child who needs constant love and attention and care. I just watched a video about parents talking about their unwanted Children and people are cosigning and saying children or just for the economy it doesn’t matter how they grow up.
That is the biggest load of malarkey and balderdash I have ever heard that type of mindset children, or only here for the economy is what breeds criminals, mentally ill, and generational curses it’s scientifically proven that children need love and affection in order to grow I got none of those things, it would be better off if I was not born I’m telling you parents and single people stop idolizing marriage.
Marriage is not going to solve all of your problems. This is a time in a season I believe a society where we need to assess where we are and where we’re going. Do we really want to go in this direction where we’re continuing to have mass shootings and children cutting themselves and children being suicidal All of that stems from abandonment and a parent can be in that child’s life and that child still feel abandoned and even some of the best parents still have to help their children navigate through some of these things, and if you are negligent to care for your friends and family don’t have kids. This is a warning to you. Jesus said that if you CAUSED any of these little children to stumble, it would be better for you to put an anvil around your neck and jump in to the ocean there will be many parents that will be judge that way on judgment day.
We don’t need another mass shooting or a child with endless therapy bills or someone who gets locked up.
Genesis 6 speaks of a breed of people that were created out of the natural order of God. And that is what I feel like is happening now. People aren’t having children, they’re breeding and there are so many people who are godless and lack conviction to the Holy Spirit.

Literally was thinking this same thing! 🥹 The fact that neither really understood or accepted the actual definition when they read it is a huge blessing. (But the definition was fully correct as described y’all! It’s a really harmful thing to go through for many people.)
