Going from the most recent Puppet History to this one made me realize that the Professor has over time developed a voice distinct from Shane's. The Professor is louder, slightly higher pitched, and has a more variation in his tone. I think the intro is the best example of this.
I actually recently got into Puppet History and had no idea it was Shane lol because the Professor has just become a separate entity with his own voice

This is a rare footage before Ryan and the Professor became nemesis. Also when Ryan still looks normal. Now he looks like the joker seconds from snapping his last string of sanity

The fact that the Professor started Puppet History just at the start of the pandemic really sells to me that he time travelled to this time period to witness history, and teach it at the same time
Man, Shane's gotten a lot better at puppeteering. It's subtle, but there's so much more personality in the way he plays the Professor in recent episodes, as compared to this first ep!

also, hi army!!
Same here
If Shane doesn’t do a puppet show about the people in France who danced till they died I’m gonna steal his metatarsals
EDIT: HOLY SHIT SHANE REPLIED I HAVE BEEN BLESSED #SHANIAC
Best comment by far. Thank you for your service. 😂
THIS IS WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO SAY
Oh yeah! I almost forgotten they mentioned this one way back "The Toxic Lady" Episode.
AGREE
He has referenced it a couple of times on Buzzfeed so he better lol
I adore this show. I hope they don't remove this series
anyone else coming back after the finale to cry?
I LOVE that Shane is into puppets. I just imagine him coming home from buzzfeed, closing all his curtains, pulling out his puppet theater, and whispering to himself, “finally, my true passion.”
thank u for the mental image
LMBO too funny 😂
The mental imagE
best thing i've thought about all day
If I become a history teacher, I am either A: Showing this to my class or B: doing this for my class. Either way, I am probably gonna get fired
My teacher showed us ruining history, but seeing as this is basically similar you still have a 50/50 chance to gain your classes favor.
@@dull_demon4717 can I attend your class
@@adrianalvarado1835 well he was my teacher 2 years ago and no one here can actually go to school, but uh- sure why not? lol
eh at least you’ll have friends under the age of 18.
And that sounded wrong.
My history teacher does a similar thing and, yeah, the board isn’t a big fan of him
After watching the season finale, this makes me realize just how far Shane has come with the series. I just love how the series progressively get more and more unhinged as it continues
For some reason Steven's sudden YOU LOOK LIKE BLUE ELMO outburst just kills me
Black Death lasted four years
Couple or so months after lock down: "Yeah I think it's probably safe now."
Looks like we got 3 more years of being hermits
I don't wanna downplay it in any way, but is Covid really as deadly as the bubonic plague?
Maria Camila Vega , Hell Na, COVID isn’t really a big threat compared to the Bubonic Plague. COVID is deadly but not THAT Deadly. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure the numbers of deaths would be bigger.
@@luismonteiro3328 It is still deadly, don't let your arrogance blind you.
Dull_Demon47 , I know it’s still deadly, and me and my family are definitely being careful with it. But we all know, that COVID isn’t nearly as deadly as The Black Death, gotta admire those who survived. I also don’t see how I’m being arrogant, I’m just stating clear facts. But anyways, have a good rest of your day or night.
I can't believe it's actually going to happen.
I can’t believe it’s actually happening lmao-
are yall talking about... the plague??
Apollo really hit Shane with the dodgeball of prophecy didn't he
well someone has tumblr /j
Who just watched the newest season 5 finale and was just ready to start it all over again? We love you Professor
Meeeee
Me! 👋🏻
Buzzfeed: doesn’t do ruining history
Shane Madej: Ryan, hold my beer
Oliver Kirkland what happened to ruining history
ally johnson Buzzfeed either canceled it or never let him continue it
hold his ghost goul boy tavern beer
@ally Johnson It was a show that had too high of a budget and probably not enough profit for BuzzFeed so they shut it down
The Name's Kale of course it was. thanks for clarifying tho
So the Corona Virus is because Death got the feeling of nostalgia and wanted another go at it?
been looking for this comment hahaha *chuckles nervously*
Lowkey true 😂
Sounds like
and more *money*
Oh yeah, good old bubonic got kind of boring, high time to move in to bigger and better things...
...and by bigger and better, I of course mean much, much, much worse
(To whoever’s reading this, hope you’re doing alright)
The fact that I know how I feels to be septic and hearing Shane talk about it is bringing me back to the hospital..I spent two months in the hospital from some strain of strep in my bloodstream (not strep throat that's completely different) and I was unconscious and near death for those two months. I couldn't breath, I was put on a breathing mask (a whole oxygen mask that made me look like Bane from Batman), I was hooked on like 5 different IVs. When I finally was released they finally told me, that when I was admitted to the hospital I was hours from dying. My organs were shutting down starting with my stomach, which would explain why they wouldn't feed me solid foods and just pump me with nutrients. I was so close to death my mom was telling me that I told her I saw and talked with my dead grandfather....I don't mean to rant about my experience experience but they way Shane was talking about it just reminded me of the pain I went through..when Shane does his research he does it really well
I watered this story down a lot now that I'm rereading it over..
What symptom finally made you go to the hospital? I mean if it's hours from dying, it must have been very serious but also with very unnoticed symptoms. Which makes it scary tbh.
@@user-nz8gr7em6o the symptoms were like of a serious fever or the flu. That's what I originally thought it was, but after a week of feeling like that and passing out everytime I would stand up. I went the my regular doctor, and he's the one who actually told me to go to the hospital cause he didn't know what to do.
So the symptoms were not very serious, just enough to know that thing were not right with me.
Shane: explains plague
Steven & Ryan: horrified
Me in 2022: oh sweet summer child
The Prof: Let's imagine a world without Steven Lim
Me: *immediately thinks back to The Sims 4 Golden Cell*
ME TOO
YES
It's like Ruining History, and I am here for it. I didn't realize how much I missed Shane's way of talking about history, until I heard him speak through a puppet.
so true
After a year of puppet history episodes, 3:18 still gets me every time
the moment where adhd almost gets you and you jump like you're playing slender
The show has come so far from the first episode!! Shane's Professor voice is so much more animated now and the production is more polished :)
watching this as my school got canceled because of the corona virus... “if the plague was a disease today?” question really made me oof
Saaame
It still is a disease today. Every couple of years there are a couple of plague cases somewhere in the world, usually from eating wild animals. But nowadays you take an antibiotic for it, and you're fine.
Well... It still exists in some parts of Asia. It's just not spoke about as much 'cause americans are save 🤷 so who cares right
I used to live in an area in Southern California where, every few years, we were told to be careful in our hills because squirrels were found carrying the plague, so it's still very much around.
SAME
I love how The Professor is just T-Posing the entire time
he must assert his historical dominance
He has power
watching this in 2023 and am astounded at that final question
"If the plague were to happen today..."
It's almost as if Shane knew
I have never laughed so hard at a deadly plague in my life! This is so funny, I'm so glad I'm watching the older episodes now.
