I heard that the reason Ruining History was "canceled" was because the animation was to expensive to do. Personally I don't think it even needs to be animated. If they really don't want to show the table the whole time they could always just show stills.

Protip: If you're ever stuck in a cannibalistic situation, the bone marrow will be much more beneficial than the flesh, as it contains the fat you need to survive. Just eating the flesh will not be of much use if your body is low on fat, especially when the guy you're eating was already starving to death and you're dehydrated and full of salt.
Also, don't bother trying to eat your own meat as your body already digests itself as you begin to starve, so cutting off your limbs and eating them will only waste your precious energy and lose blood.

We actually discussed this in a biology lecture.The tapping sound of the man (nailing the canvas of the boat) before that attack echoed under the water could've resembled the sound of clicking that male whales exhibit. The nearby whale therefore followed the clicking sound in attack mode, wanting to kill the invading supposed male whale. It's a fixed action pattern so it's an innate response for whales to attack what they think could be attacking them (i.e. an invading whale) and therefore it attacked the boat until the "threat" was gone.

As someone who grew up on Nantucket, this story was like--drilled into my head, specifically during middle school, as well as hearing about the curse of Owen Chase and his home on the island, etc. We learned how they caught whales, got them onto the boat, and what they did with the oil and carcass(by the way, the whale oil is often found in the whale's head cavity). Honestly, seeing a video about something I never thought of as a huge thing(outside of Nantucket) was really amusing--especially how non-Nantucketers see the story, especially seeing them as a boat of Logan Paul's!

if anyone was worried about galapagos tortoises, they actually restored them and around year 2000 there were about 21 thousand of them in the wild so yay!

no the "real" Galapagos toriose are all exticnt. There are mixed breeds toriose that contains the DNA from Galapagos toriose. There are also subspecies of the Galapagos toriose that still existed. But there aren't many. 4 Galapagos species went exticnt because of us. Good job people form the past! (that is sarcastic by the way)

Most species are only vulnerable; one is now extinct when the last member of the species recently died. I think they were thinking of the species that was actually critically endangered (and now extinct), because there’s actually several different species of tortoises on the islands.
The species as a whole is, but some subspecies are much more endangered or even extinct
we now know that whales are much smarter than we are able to "fathom". its obvious to me this whale was their strongest warrior and was sent to destroy the crew for their crimes against whales and tortoises. his victory was commemorated with a book.

@@e.bad.3345they had a contract still in place for them to finish up on Unsolved. They’ve been finished there for awhile but Buzzfeed staggered the release of their content to make it last longer. Which is why Watcher couldn’t really do true crime content until the last of their Buzzfeed true crime work had been released.
