In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It makes me feel peaceful just to hear it.
100%
up there with Iz wonderful world
Yes this song is almost perfect. I would say it was perfect but nothing is lol
Agree. Van is the man.
Agree❤❤
And that folks, is how to write, arrange and sing a song. Plain incredible.
masterpiece.
Couldn't of said it any better ! 1970 folks.
Sexiest song ever!
Amen!!
imagine just once in a lifetime to be able to give life to a masterpiece like this.
“And when that foghorn blows”…and the cellos come in sounding like a foghorn!
His whole Moondance album is fantastic. It's love-making music. 🥰
💯💘
I’m 70 years old and I still tear up to this song. I listened to Van ever since my high school days.
flawless album
Van is the man✅
There isn't a single mood that Van Morrison hasn't explored or defined. Truly a poetic champion and a musical genius.
What YOU said!!
That describes his music perfectly. Thank you.
I like to travel through music 🙋🏻♀️
Seven Hunnid on CZcams is suprisly entertaining cuh
i might be wrong, don't know all his stuff, but can't remember him being part of the celtic thrash movement of mid 80's
Van (The Man) Morrison "Domino" & "Moondance"
..Both True Classics Among MANY By Him.
And “Golria” that he did with his pre-solo band Them
Tupelo Honey - is a favorite as well.
@@joeking6763 I Already Suggested That One,, I Love It Too,, Among Many Others By Him.

This one never ceases to give me chills. "Ere the bonnie boat was one." We're all in the ship of life together, sailing into the mystic. ❤️
Really, that's true!
Word.
5:05 This is Amber! Rob, you must never interrupt when Amber is sooo into the moment😂 This is why I love you guys. So genuine!
Yes, yes, yes. Her glorious smile.
@glenndespres5317 at 5:25 she was on her way to a moment and he just cut her out of it. Haha
One of the best songs ever written, in my opinion.
I have always loved it when he sings about the foghorn, and there's a subtle musical foghorn under that verse.
The sax is beautiful, too, isn't it?
pee wee reese on that sax
To me, best Van Morrison song.
Amber is tapping into her own gypsy soul.....she completely gets the vibe.
Truly one of the most soul-stirring songs ever recorded. Glad you loved it.
Soul-stirring is the perfect description.
Too bad I could hit the like button only once.
Van (The Man) Morrison "Gloria" & "Tupelo Honey"..Absolute Classics.
My parents headstone says “Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic”
Every man had or has a woman that fits this song perfectly. I let mine slip away 26 years ago but I can still see her when I hear this great song 🎶
this is one of the best top 5 songs of all time
"Moondance" and "Tupelo Honey" are similar to this one.
For something upbeat from Morrison, try "Bright Side of the Road" and "Domino"
Tupelo Honey is the one that came straight to mind. That song is amazing!
I'm surprised nobody brought up Wavelength, another fantastic non-commercial song!
Underlying spiritual message here is that the ‘foghorn’ blows for us all when we get closer to the exit ramp towards life’s end and go ‘into the mystic’.
"Moondance" is a Van Morrison must. It has piano, horns and even a little bit of scat. I know you'll both love it.
Gasp! Reactors have finally discovered that Van Morrison has other songs besides Brown-eyed Girl and Domino, (great as those songs are)! Van is my special favourite!
Me too. No idea why!
😂🤣😂🤣
You both did EXACTLY what a person who loves music should do when listening to this song, you shut your eyes to shut out all other senses to truly FEEL the song! The bass is EPIC and the tone of Van's voice with the contrast of the bass and ambient sounds and horns is why this song is my ultimate #1 favorite song. Watching others experience the feeling you get when listening for the first time is so touching, thank you for doing Van justice and reacting with grace and appreciation ♥ New sub here!
His Moondance and Astral weeks albums are classics
Van’s saxophone playing on this one is sweet
He did a string of great albums in a row that didn't have anything except great songs. Astral Weeks, Moondance, His Band and The Street Choir, St. Dominic's Preview.
Saxes on this track are by Jack Schroer (alto) and Collin Tilton (tenor). I used to see Collin Tilton in bar bands in the '70s in the Woodstock, NY area, which is where Van was based when the MOONDANCE album was recorded.
Besides the vocals, Van plays guitar and tambourine on this cut.
@@jasonremy1627 I think you mean St Dominic's Preview, but yes I agree with all you say.
@@johnl7710 so corrected
💯💯💯💯 agreed “I have played on repeat many of times these albums. Moondance” .
Carole King’s “Tapestry”
Paul Simon’s “Negotiations and Love Songs”,
Bob Marley’s “Legend”.
Amber was so into the song at 5:26, and Jordan paused it wow, the look on her face 😢 says it all!
My favorite from Van is "And It Stoned Me" check it out or for something special check out Van's performance of "Caravan" from The Last Waltz , you will love it!
Oh yes sir so great!
J/Amber, His "Moondance", "Domino" and "Wild Night" are next for you!!
wild night is amazing i like john mellencamps cover to
All great choices to react to!
Ireland's Van Morrison, a great poet and wordsmith - using his vocal talents to breathe life into his beautiful words. Not sure he has made a bad song in his long and much loved career.
Northern Ireland.
@@rullmourn1142 I try not to hold that against him.
Oh yeah, he made some bad songs. Well, sort of. I mean those songs he made to complete a contract he couldn't get out of were so awful and hilarious that they were still pretty good.
@@Grendelbc I met some N Irelanders once in a pub in Kenmare. They were from Derry. Derry. They were strong dissenters to British/Orange occupancy/rule and bought our drinks and hung out with us in a lock-in. You can't hold geography against folks like that.
@@merlball8520 what's your point, the so called dissidents are the ulster Scots who have been there for centuries, what if Britain kicked out all Irish who have leached off the British for centuries, would that be a fair exchange I would support that.
Van was a Irish soul singer blessed with a bluesy voice! Dive into his library. He has some awesome songs that will blow you away. Growing up on his music was awesome!
He still is.
Jay comparing Van to John Denver?? Totally different sounds and vibes.
In the 70 I got the record "Moondance" with the single "into the Music". It is my all favorite music. Now i'm nearly 77 and every time i'm touched by Van's songs.
Van Morrison great singer. You can’t go wrong with him ! Please do Brown Eyed Girl and Moon Dance. He is from Northern Ireland, and began his career in 1964
They loved Brown Eyed Girl. czcams.com/video/E_MDUXR7peg/video.html
they did Brown Eyed Girl already its on youtube
They should try One Two Brown Eyes when he was still with Them.
Done “Brown Eyed Girl”… czcams.com/video/E_MDUXR7peg/video.html
Those are the two I was gonna suggest, I love them. Also, I generally prefer old gospel songs over contemporary, but Van's Whenever God Shines His Light is great!
FINALLY, this is one that Iv'e been waiting for. There is no one who projects such great acoustic sounds like him, his "Astrel Weeks" album is a stunning masterpiece ,every song on it is classic...i.e: "Ballerina" or "Slim Slow Slider"... man it dosn't get any better than that.
Have you heard Jeff Buckley's solo covers of The Way Young Lovers Do and Sweet Thing from the extended version of Live at Sin-é?
@@johncampbell756 Sorry but i don't think I have, I'M GONNA FIND THEM AND LISTEN...THANKS
@@dougieyou If you like those two, I highly recommend everything by him as he only has three main releases including only one true studio album. I don't know how familiar you are with Jeff.
@@johncampbell756 Oh and by the way, thanks for the info. on him .
@@dougieyou No problem. His album Grace is my favorite, so I'm happy to share.
Love this reaction, just before your first break where he says "I wanna rock your gypsy soul" it looked like Amber had just had her soul touched.
I played this song at my husband’s funeral. Makes me cry every time.
❤️
I wish I had played this at my husband’s memorial service...3 1/2 years ago...
Plus...my husband was a Morrison...❤️
This was my mother’s memorial song, as well… ❤️😇
I would like to have it played at mine also ! My wife and I are 3 months shy of our 46th anniversary and I realize that time is short !
I want "Precious Time" at mine. Love Van the Man.
RIP, Barry Bailey, lead guitarist for Atlanta Rhythm Section! Died in his sleep this morning!
Horrible loss. But he would say-
🎶"I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonite!"🎵
Rest In Piece
This song is fricken awesome, I love all Van Morrison’s music but this is in my top 3 of his music
Grew up on the ocean. Left the coast 42 years ago. This song calls me. One day I will be able to hear the fog horn call and I'll be headed home.
Van Morrison is a world treasure. There's no one like him. I'd suggest checking out his song St. Dominic's Preview (my favorite) and Jackie Wilson Said (I'm In Heaven When You Smile) both from the St. Dominic's Preview album. So very very special.
Jackie Wilson Said is an absolute BANGER!
@@13chigrl Amen!
I’m a big fan of his Live album in San Francisco.
@@fayesouthall6604 Any time is Van time!
This song has touched me deeply for over 50 years . Never gets old .☮️💜🎶
I went to countless rock concerts in the 60's and early 70's,. I took my girlfriend (now wife) to see Van Morrison in the Oklahoma city Civic Center in 73 it was her first concert. One of the best concerts I ever attended.
This is my favorite Van Morrison song but he has so very many more that are equally as good. Check out Tupelo Honey and Wild Night. One’s a great ballad and the other is a rocker.
The whole album “ Tupelo Honey” is amazing. All killer, no filler.
Some time a while back they did a survey of surgeons and asked them what songs they most liked to listen too while performing surgery. This song was voted number one and it just totally makes sense. Its soooo relaxing.
Finally.
When that foghorn blows Man it gets to me everytime. Song gives me chills. Love it!!!!
..and besides writing most of his songs, vocals and guitars he's also the horn player!! a man of many talents.... it's why we call him Van The Man!
Van morrison is my most favorite singer in the world!! Listen to everything he sings!!! You will enjoy all of it!!!
This is a great song by Van. My favorite Van Morrison song is Tupelo Honey. 🥰
YES❣️❣️ All his songs are GREAT!! but TUPELO HONEY is my FAV!! ❣️😃👍😃❣️
I absolutely LOVE this song. It's magic...it takes me away to somewhere special....
Yes indeed, Van the Man is from Belfast, Ireland, and one of the most brilliant singer/songwriters ever. There is so much treasure waiting down this particular rabbit hole, and the delights are almost endless with this man, the great Sir George Ivan Morrison. Please give a listen to Moondance, Caravan, Tupelo Honey, Wavelength, Domino, Crazy Love, Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, Hungry For Your Love, And It Stoned Me, Jackie Wilson Said, Madame George, the list goes on and on…so many incredibly brilliant albums overall. He’s a true ICON…
ALL ARE GREAT!! but . . . JACKIE WILSON is my FAV of his upbeat tempos!! ❣️😃👍😃❣️
Welcome to Celtic Soul. One of the greatest songs of all time and one that I recommended over and over again.
Now all you need to react to by Van The Man is "Someone Like You".
This song is really close to my heart…it’s what we played for my dads funeral.
This was played at my husband’s best friend funeral. Always tear up and think of John when I hear this song.
Played at my wife's funeral as well
I'm sorry for your loss.
My sister requested this song be played at her funeral.
I love Van Morrison. So many good songs; Gloria, Domino, Wonderful Remark, These are the Days, Someone Like You.
Suggested this song several times... so glad it has come up. One of the most beautiful songs ever written IMO. The foghorn is death and into the mystic is the afterlife. Thank you so much.
VAN THE MAN!!!!! Morrison is one of the GOAT's of music!!! He did it all!!! a true performer!!
Crazy Love and Tupelo Honey are my favorite Van tunes.
The best “vibe” song of all time.
“Moondance”is the album that this song is from and it is a masterpiece…one of my favs of all time(lots of sax)!!!
One of my favourite songs ever! I heard it in a movie many, many years ago and fell in love with it.
One of my faves! You’d also like Moondance or Brown Eyed Girl.
Blue Money.
Cleaning Windows.
Jackie Wilson Said.
They did “Brown Eyed Girl” czcams.com/video/E_MDUXR7peg/video.html
My two favourites!
When he was in the band “Them” they did a Dylan cover called “ it’s all over now baby blue” it’s great
Not just great, his delivery transformed the song, turning it into a bitter commentary to a former lover at the end of their relationship. It makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The arrangement is brilliant as well.
@@PaulWilliams-ko5fu 100% agree
This is one of my absolute favorite songs
Such an amazing, beautiful song, Ooooo, yeah, takes me back...Thanx for the memories, Blessings
I have SO been waiting for this!! Absolutely magical, right? Can’t begin to
explain where this song takes me! And will continue to take me!! Thanks
guys…you’re the best! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Always been my fave by V.M. . It's one of those songs you can't hear enough of. I have been to many concerts in my life but sadly never got to go see Van Morrison. I know how much i missed and regret never getting the chance.
He’s still touring Kathy.. I’m on number 22 of his live shows. You need to witness his Magic . 👌🇮🇪
@@stevemohammed3497 :Oh i wish i could. My age and health have made it too hard now. You are so lucky! I think 22 might be a record for seeing one band. I have been to many concerts in my life, i feel blessed.
YES!!! You finally got to Van Morrison. His lyrics are superb, his phrasing sublime and the band is just top notch. This was dance night music for hubby and I. put the kids to bed, share a drink or 2 and slow dance to Van Morrison. Good times, good times.
Morrison was lead singer of 60's group, THEM, famous for "Gloria" But his solo work is his best. You MUST hear "Baby Please Don't Go" it's a great rocker
Love this song. Zac Brown Band does a live version of their song “Free” which goes right “Into the Mystic”. Their version led me to the original and I was grateful to find Van. Love both versions. Peace and love, guys.
I'm always surprised that more people don't do reactions to this. It's a unique and amazing song.
Not just one of my favorite Van Morrison songs, but one of my favorite songs, period.
Finally Van Morrison… A legend, a unique sound, a great musician, singer, writer deep rabbit hole to go down
ITS A '74 RELEASE AND I SWEAR TO GOD HE WAS STILL WORKING ON IT A COUPLE YEARS LATER IN COTATI CA. 'THE INN OF THE BEGINNING' USED TO GO WATCH HIM WORK HIS TUNES FOR RECORDING
This one - along with Moon Dance, These are the Days, and Brown Eyed Girl are Van's very best. Hugs from Canada
They did “Brown Eyed Girl” czcams.com/video/E_MDUXR7peg/video.html
@@leannewilson7184 I remember watching this one. Thanks :)
Van IS the man! Into the Mystic may be my favorite of his songs and that's no easy choice because he's done so much wonderful stuff. This particular song has been performed by an awful lot of artists over the years which simply reinforces how good it is.
Btw, Bob Dylan once said that if you want to hear God smile, just get Van Morrison to play Tupelo Honey. Perhaps you should check that one out next.
Van Morrison is all over the map musically and with his influences and yes he's Irish. He grabs from jazz, pop, rock, folk, R&B and soul. His ballads are moving and covered by the likes of Rod Stewart in Have I told you lately that I love You. Moon Dance is such a great jazz vibe, Tupelo Honey is another really soothing Into the mystic vibe, Gloria is a rock inspired 60s tune often covered live in concert by the likes of Party Smith and John Cougar Mellencamp and Bon Jovi. You really need to go down the rabbit Hole with Van Morrison and do more of him.
Love this song so much. It is hauntingly beautiful. Great choice. Another great one by him is Days Like This.
Haunting...perfect description!
Next Van Morrison reaction should be of his band Them "Gloria". It's probably his most iconic song.
Thank you for listening to one of my favourite Van Morrison songs. Another "soul" song to listen to by Van is These are the Days ........
So sweet to see folks your age loving what we grew up with.. Oh yeah, btw, I'm 75 years old and loved this when I was your age. rock and roll will never die.
OMG! The guru himself. Van "The Man" Morrison. Poet, spiritual journeyman, song-smith, troubadour...I could go on. His library is vast as a solo artist and you must also check out his original band "Them".
You have stolen the words from my keyboard! The very terms I would choose to describe the man.
Amen!!
First time I heard this was in the movie "Immediate Family"... Glenn Close and Mary Stuart Masterson dancing to this song was so sweet.
That movie is where I first heard and fell in love with this song! I was only about 10 years old at the time but knew instantly the song was special. 40 years later and I still listen to it regularly. The movie was pretty good too
@@feminist5641 yeah, I was 19 when this movie came out in '89, saw it when it was on HBO if I remember correctly. Been an all time favorite ever since. And yep, the movie was good as well.
Beautiful … yes, a Belfast cowboy with a gypsy soul … Magnificent ❤
Tupelo Honey, Moondance, And it Stoned Me, Brown Eyed Girl, Bright Side of the Road, and on and on
I love this song so much, it has so much meaning. My therapist ( and dear friend John Duffy ) was sick with liver cancer. I was blessed the day I met this man, the day I found out that he had passed this song and a few others were on his timeline. I want this song played at my wake, I cry whenever I hear it ♥️😎
Fantastic! If we’re talking Van Morrison, then “Sweet Thing” and “Tupelo Honey” are a must! 💜✌️🎸
"AAaaannnnddd, I want to rock your Gypsy Soul ... just like in the days of old ... " hits me to the core!!!
He was Knighted by the Queen and is now Sir Van Morrison. This has been one of my top favourite songs for so many years now.
Van Morrison is a genius who surrounds himself with unbelievable musicians. Please do Moondance for something different - the entire album is great. He also has a country song called Once A Day
Here Comes The Night by Them showcases Van in his first band
This is definitely one of my favorites from Van Morrison. But "Have I Told You Lately" just might be the most beautiful love song ever recorded.
Have I told you Lately was our first dance at my wedding. Love that song
I had the honor of seeing Van Morrison live in Boston in 1979. He is amazing!🌺✌️
Can’t tell you how many times I have listen to this song but I have your reaction to this a lot because it reminds me of the first time I heard it … so enthusiastic.. love it
God how I love this song…that whole album I love.
A friend introduced me to this song right after a breakup 27 years ago. It calmed my soul and my tears. I have loved Van Morrison since that day. This is of course my favorite ♥️♥️♥️
This is the sexiest song, his breathy vocals and beautiful guitar and bass lines. Chef's kiss!
This song has a special place in my heart. When my first daughter was being born, I was driving to the hospital and this song played on the radio. So I dedicated this song to my oldest baby girl, Caravelle Lynné. I can't hear this song without getting choked up. Now sixteen she says I'm a big softy when this song plays in the car..... Very special song to me. CHEERS
In Addition to all his most known songs , his duet with John Lee Hooker was a great one. He is a great Blues guy. Try he and John Lee Hooker doing "It serves me right to suffer". A fantastic blues tune.
Good one!!
You can't go wrong with Van Morrison--a classic artist and a classic sound. Have to do "Moondance" next, but also "Brown Eyed Girl", "Domino", "Have I Told You Lately", "Someone Like You", "Tupelo Honey", and "Wild Night", need to make your reaction list.
Crazy love is another great song by Van Morrison
Tupelo Honey, Crazy Love, and Someone Like You are just fantastic. They will make your hearts swell!
"And when that foghorn whistle blows, you I'll be coming home."
The meaning to that is: at the end of life. When death comes. Into the mystic is about union with your creator or higher spirit.
Van Morrison! Great stuff! You have to listen to "Moondance", his biggest hit and probably one of the top 100 pop hits of all time.
Astral Weeks is in my top ten albums of all time. It's a classic . On a personal level, We played Astral Weeks in our house all the time. My sons grew up on it. It came out 1968. 40 years later, my younger son, who was living in Southern Cali. called me to invite me to join him at a concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Morrison got the original musicians together to play the entire album from beginning to end. My son said "dad there's no one I'd rather enjoy the concert with than you." I immediately booked air fare from Florida to L.A. The only disappointment was that The original bass player, Richard Davis, was no longer playing in concert He was about 80 and was teaching at Berkley music school. He sent one of his students to play. He was really good. It was a wonderful night and visit.
My favorite Van Morrison song.
