The whole Moondance album is a masterpiece !
Yes it is!
Always a fav album!
Amen to that!!
The Masterpiece is Wavelength!
Indeed. The album has a crazy back story that kinda reinforces its mythical feel and Van’s moody persona. Forever my desert island disc.
Van, not Jim. Jim Morrison was leadman for the doors. Van Morrison is a jazz/blues/folk singer from Northern Ireland.
I know, I was thinking... The Doors???
Van was also in the British Rock Band Them! Remember the song Gloria it was definitely Rock
“Even when he was with The Doors”
Eh?!?
😀
Van was pals with Jim and performed with the Doors.
@@alexcampbell3032 Thanks, I seemed to recall that.
Van Morrison is a classic. "Brown Eyed Girl" should be next.
that was the one they did 6 mths ago - go look for that reaction
"Jackie Wilson Said" and "Tupelo Honey" are two others among many great songs! Highly recommended!
Definitely Tupelo Honey. He also does a cover of Just Like A Woman that's amazing.
I love "Tupelo Honey" , so now I have to go and listen to "Jackie Wilson Said" because I do not remember that one !!
This song is from Van's album called Moondance, which is perhaps the most romantic album of all time. Other great tracks from this album include Moondance, Crazy Love & And It Stoned Me.
Crazy Love is my favorite!!! Van the man! So great.
Not to forget “Caravan “.
“The way young lovers do “is one of my faves
Perfect song! My husband and I stop what we’re doing and slow dance every time it comes on💕 Gotta do Moondance next!
it’s a sneaky little aphrodisiac lol
Moondance YES, let that one be next.
How sweet thank you for sharing that
we used to sing this song with great sincerity . ...me and my coast guard shipmates ...we missed our loved ones so much. .. Sometimes it was hard to sing without weeping ,especially the words .."and when that foghorn blows ..i will be coming home"
Good as it gets,Brenda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rock on ....................
my favourite Van live video is on The Bands "Last Waltz" concert where Van does his tune "Caravan" his vocals will blow you away!
Tupelo Honey is another fantastic Van Morrison song.
Yes, yes, yes! Peak Van Morrison.
Agreed!
VAN the MAN
The joy on The Band’s faces at the end of that song makes me smile to match theirs.
Have had a copy of that DVD for some time and my daughter and I still get great joy from regularly watching this and all the other performances!
Van the Man! His voice is a musical instrument in itself. He has many amazing songs. This one is on the playlist for my funeral when my time comes. If you guys are having a mellow evening and you're feeling romantic, check out Tupelo Honey. Good memories...
Some of his other songs are “Someone like you” “Days like this” or “ Have I told you lately” are all good songs you might like.
Add "Moondance" and Tupelo Honey " to that list.
My favorite Van song…also ‘and it stoned me’ and ‘moonshadow’ are other favorites. Love his voice.
Moon shadow is Cat Stevens. Yer thinking Moon dance most likely.
@@scottlaughlin9897 yes. I knew it sounded funny. Thanks. Moondance
VAN THE MAN MORRISON
Coolest Irish blues singer EVER
✨One of the greatest songs of all time✨We played this at a lifelong friend’s funeral. It moves me to tears ALWAYS. ☀️⛵️🌊 🏝🦋
The “Moondance” album came out on January 27, 1970 and was instantly huge. It’s one of the rare albums that doesn’t have one bad song. You two could react to every song on it, and no one would complain.
His most famous song is probably “Brown Eyed Girl” from 1967, another great song to react to.
they have done that reaction
Every Sunday, my first cup of coffee and this song. Never fails to start me out right.
to me this song is the perfect late late nite vibe
When I die I have asked that this song be played at my funeral.
Me too. This and Sweet thing.
Mine is “Leave out all the rest” Linkin Park
Me too!
Y’all enjoy the journey through this mystery before going through the last door to the next.Happy trails.
Sweet Janine, domino, astral weeks,I’ve been working, caravan are worth doing too by Van
I discovered this song a few years ago when I bought a "Best of Van Morrison" CD such a good song. Especially the part where those horns come in/trumpet, tenor sax and I think trombone. It's "Van" Morrison, not "Jim" Morrison from the Doors. Van was in the group "Them" and sang "Gloria". I used to get the names confused to. They were both great.
I think you're confusing Jim Morrison with Van Morrison in some of your comments. Jim Morrison was lead singer with the Doors whereas Van was initially with the band Them in the 60s but then progressed with his successful solo career.
Jim Morrison died quite a while back.
Love this song….just beautiful, another work of art from Van.
This song was sung to me at the time my Dad passed last year....it means a lot to me. I know you can get different meanings from the lyrics, but it hit me in the heart. "When that fog horn blows, I will be coming home", "I don't have to fear it". Thank you for your reaction
This is another great performer who's music I grew up with. His recording career spans nearly seven decades. Van Morrison is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. He can play guitar, harmonica, keyboards & saxophone. In the mid 60's he was in the band "THEM" & their biggest hits were "Gloria", "Baby Please Don't Go", "Here Comes The Night" & "Mystic Eyes". Van Morrison later went solo & has had tons of hits such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "Moondance", "Tupeleo Honey", "Into The Mystic" & "It Stoned Me" etc.
That sax is like a whole spirit passing through your body. Warm and fuzzy.
this was VAN morrison not JIM morrison of the doors. two different people but both great artist's.
The Allman Brothers do a great version of this song live.
"Who Drove The Red Sports car", "Listen to the Lion", "Here Comes The Night", T.B. Sheets", "Sweet Thing". The list of brilliant songs by Van will only end when he does.
Put “ Listen to the lion” on today in my works van. Loved it. Haven’t played it for a few years.
🇬🇧👍👍.
I've always loved Van Morrison. Moondance from him, has always been my favorite
You guys are just scratching the surface with this song. Northern Ireland gave the music world a gift!
I Love watching you two beautiful children listening to the music I grew up with
Definitely one of my Top 5 songs ever! So beautiful. It's one of those songs that you just close your eyes to and let it take you away.
Van the Man is one of a kind, one of the greatest songwriters and lyricists of our time. His storytelling is unparalleled.
Van has one of the most rich and expressive voices of any rock singer. He has lots of jazz influence in his music and singing. He has so many great songs one excellent song if you haven't done it yet is his song "Tupelo Honey" itis one of the most moving and sincere love songs and will move your soul.
One of my favorite VM songs. This mans catalog is thick. So many great songs. If you like this you should give one of these a listen. "Tupelo Honey" " Caravan" "Green Mansions" "And It Stoned Me" "Someone Like You"
Bright Side of the Road is yet another great Van Morrison song..........great rabbit hole here with Van the Man!!
Thank you! I’m 62 and Van Morrison is one of favorites. Found you guys about 2 years ago, I grab my coffee in the morning and click on your channel. Love your selections and reactions.
The most powerful version of this song that I've seen is Into The Mystic Live German TV. Van and the bass player, drummer and keyboard player are beyond words 🎶🎵🔥🔥🔥
Hi Dee, is that version on CZcams?
@@whitethorn1969 yes it is...enjoy!
Jim Morrison is the singer with the Doors; Van Morrison is a totally different person, from Ireland and what a talent.
Van the man. Such a great artist. So many great songs. It's chill music.
That whole album "Moon Dance" is a great album with great songs!!! Masterpieces!!! Van Morrison is among the gods of Rock n' Roll....great influence on bands and solo artists....
love you guys
This is my absolute favorite song by Van Morrison & that's saying something considering all his amazing songs.
May be my fave Van song. Days Like This, Full Force Gale, Moondance, I Shall Sing and so many more.
you just listened to one of the greatest songs in music history 👍
I could recommend at least 50 Van Morrison songs, but try When the Leaves Come Falling Down and The Philosophers Stone. At 76, Van is still touring and putting out new albums.
Sir Ivan Morrison, timeless music, incredible musician and this song is full of soul. You need to explore him more.
Could have listened to this for another hour without complaining!! Great. Stuff!!
Not sure why, but I am 52 years old, heard this song thousands of times yet still, get emotional evertime I hear it.
Thanks for the video❤
It never gets old.
Played this at my mom’s funeral. She would travel all over the country to see him perform live. “Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic” is her epitaph on her headstone.
Van Morrison was not with the Doors. You're thinking of Jim Morrison.
It Stoned Me!!!! Great song by him
You got van and Jim morrison confused. Jim is doors. You did brown eyed girl by Van
VAN Morrison is so good. For me this song makes me feel like it's an "end of life" vibe. Kinda like a remember me when I'm gone feel to it
Van Morrison was the lead singer and driving force behind the group “Them”; that came to America during the “British Invasion” started by “The Beatles”, in the Mid-Sixties.
Van’s song “Crazy Love” was done by Boyz II Men did in the 90s. He also originally did “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You”-Rod Stewart covered it and made it a huge hit so you might have heard it.
Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in Heaven When You Smile) by Van Morrison is a feel-good tribute to the late, great R&B singer. Worthy of your consideration.
Super awesome Van Morrison songs to do next:
1) Any song from the Moondance Album
I am also very fond of the "Saint Dominic's Preview" Album. Of particular note: the title track, Almost Independence Day, and Listen to the Lion. For a more upbeat song: Jackie Wilson Said.
If you folks haven't done "Brown Eyed Girl" yet, you must.
"These Are The Days" is one of my favorites from him.Very talented singer, musician and song writer.
He shines live..... caravan either from The Last Waltz or from the 1973 tour (Too Late to Stop Now) was the last line of Into the Mystic and the title of that tour.
I just happen to have been playing this song on repeat a lot lately. Glad I'm not the only one who gets carried away by that bass line, Asia! Thanks both of you for a terrific reaction video.
The Moondance album is one you can listen to all the way through and not notice the time pass by.
One of my all time favourite songs, he's a great songwriter. Worth a dive into his back catalogue
My favorite Van Morrison song. I played with some guys years ago, we covered this, sweet song.
Van the Man consummate brilliance unique voice. This song as beautiful as it’s always seems to remind me of Oits and Sitting on the Dock of the Bay
My favorite Van Morrison song ever. Just so tight, so loose, so hard and so soft all at the same time.
I’ve been learning guitar for about 18 months now and this was one of the first songs I learned. I swore to myself I’d learn it if I ever learned guitar because it’s just so beautiful!
Always loved Van the man, remember when he started out with his band 'Them' all great stuff
Yes, I have been caught at red lights, singing along with this, at the top of my lungs, while driving
"Jackie Wilson said" and "Moondance" are the next 2 Van Morrison sings to react too.
Jackie Wilson Said is a straight up BANGER!!!!!!!
Van was not in The Doors that is Jim Morrison that is in The Doors
Van Morrison and Jim Morrison of The Doors are both awesome!!
Touching every time I hear Van...finds the center of the heart like few can .
I sang this song for two friends who passed away. One was a high school friend who was in the Navy, and the other was my scuba diving buddy. Now I can't sing it without losing it. It is such a powerful and visual song, especially for maritime folk. Also Asia and BJ, I have invested many hours of my life watching your reaction videos and have loved every minute. I also own a music instrument store which doubles as restaurant and live music venue. If you guys are ever in South Florida come in for dinner and a show on me V.I.P.
this song is the reason that Dream a Little Dream is my favorite childhood movie
Many ladies have been floated into a personal space w. the iyrics "I wanna' rock your gypsy soul, like way back in the days of old."
Two different Morrisons, sweeties. Jim was in the Doors. This is Van Morrison. Two outstanding singers, two different styles.
Oh yes! The melody and harmony lines of the saxes!
Van Morrison. Northern Irish singer and poetic songwriter (also guitar, saxophone, harmonica). One of THE truly great voices and lyricists of his era. Master of the smooth vibe. He has put out a lot of quality music in his fifty year career and is still going strong.
In the 60's, Van Morrison was lead singer for the band Them, who, like Van, were from Northern Ireland. Apparently, he is going to do a tour this summer in the US, a rarity.
Dude just grabs you by the feels and drags you into his world...great artist
One of my favorites of VM is Someone Like You and These Are The Days...beautiful!❤
My wife Peggy passed 04/06/19, three years ago tomorrow. This is one our favorites to listen to. Still makes me cry, this and Maggie Mae by Rod Stewart. But I need the healing.
This was my wedding song, it was the song I picked at 12 years old before I ever even met my husband lol
Love Van’s soulful sound! Listen to Moondance, Brown-eyed girl, Have I told you lately, sooo many good ones, also the video of him singing with The Band in the Last Waltz! Great stuff!
im a old guy and i dig watching first reactions, gives me hope seeing young ones feeling what i always feel
van the man, this whole album is fantastic, beautiful really
One of my favorite artists from the 70s and there was so many, but Van Morrison is different… His songs are not the same, he has great lyrics and I’ve been listening for a long time. This is a great song by him you have many more to react to
Van Morrison is a absolute genius! He makes you feel his lyrics and that's rare these days.
Classic song. If you want to hear more Van tunes with this vibe anything off of his Astral Weeks album is top notch.
In addition to having a host of fantastic songs dating back to the 60's, Van was just nominated this year for an Oscar for his song "Down to Joy" from the movie Belfast. He keeps putting them out!
If you prefer jazz, Van Morrison was originally a horn player first( even before his rock.blues band called Them).Listen to Moondance. It was called the most perfectly written song in the music magazines of the time.
Magical music from the past !
Always a favorite of mine. Love this song.
His whole catalog is excellent.
When thinking of my favorite Van Morrison song, there are at least 25 songs as my number one.
Finally! My favorite Van Morrison song! Thank you!!
Van The Man. Early 70s bands could fuse Classical, Rock, Jazz, Country and Folk
The original of 'Cleaning Windows' would suggest Vans origins in Belfast to you, a great one not to be missed in it's original, studio recording experience!
Van Morrison's 1970 album, Moondance, ranks high among the very best of the 20th century. "And It Stoned Me", "Moondance", "Crazy Love", "Caravan", "Into the Mystic", "Come Running", "These Dreams of You", "Brand New Day", "Everyone", "Glad Tidings" -- Morrison swings in some way on every song, like drifting down a lazy river on a warm sunny day, a hot bowl of soup at home after months at sea, a couple dancing in the moonlight. Listen to them all together when you can.
Love to see you react to BJ Thomas… He did some great music
This is one of those songs that gets you right in the feels!!!!!!!I love this so much🥰🥰🥰🥰
I played this song at my late husband’s funeral. Love the song but it makes me cry every time. In addition to the others songs mentioned? I also love his song Someone Like You.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It's so beautifully done and just timelessly romantic. ❤ You guys rock, love the channel! 🥰
Great great great choice you guys this is one of my most favorite songs absolutely love the feeling that the song brings over your soul when you listen to it have a blessed rest of your day
The greatest “vibe” song of all time.
