You're conflating two different songs: The Shirelles sang Mama Said (There'd be days like this), and Van Morrison's Days Like This.

I always feel that
Van wrote this as a prayer to God and would say it before every meal.
There are so many hits but the first to always come to mind for me is "Moondance". Piano, flute and bass that can only be described as infectious.
It always makes me happy when I hear it. And since I just saw the moon in all her glory outside my window, I think I'll put it on!

This song was devine love letter to God. These recordings, I've listened frequently while battling health issues for inspiration and meditation.

If you told me you are going to a desert island forever and you can only have ONE artist's music with you, Van would be the man. His catalogue is huge, and full of amazing, breathtaking music that never gets old.
I'm a huge fan of Van Morrison. I was born in 1960 and grew up hearing brown eyed girl on the radio loved it. But I really became a big fan when I was twenty. I was a house party and was looking for my boyfriend and I found him in the basement with a bunch of people listening to a Van Morrison album. That was when I really became a real fan. I went out the next day and bought that album and many others came after that. He was as timeless then as he is now.

Van Morrison has been my biggest surprise on your channel. I came in knowing Brown Eyed Girl and Domino, but every other Van Morrison song you've reacted to I've liked. I did know this song, but I thought Rod Stewart's version was the original. Likewise, I also knew Crazy Love, but I thought Brian McKnight's version was the original. Thank you guys for opening my eyes. I now know what a true legend Van Morrison is.
Rod Stewart was on Tonight Show with Jay Leno talking about Rod's version. Jay asked about Rod writing the song and Rod said he wish he had/could, but it was Van the man. They both bowed down to Van's talent.

Rod Stewart does a beautiful cover version, recorded only a couple years later (1991), which was one of his last big "hits". I know your love for both these artists.
You guys should also react to Rod's cover of Tom Waite's Downtown Train, 1990.

I love the original Downtown Train with Tom Waite. The Rod Stewart version is good too, but Tom Waite is a truly unique artist, I can't see anyone else doing a better Downtown Train.
I have a soft spot for the Everything But The Girl cover of Downtown Train. One of the few songs that Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt sing as a duet with alternating leads. Nice piano too.

Guys, I'm 70 years old & Van the Man has been around since I was in Junior High School. His group "Them" had a hit "Gloria" way back then. So many good songs. Great lyrics. Check out "It Stoned Me", "Whenever God Shines His Light", & "Days Like This". The man is a treasure.

If you’ve ever listened to the Bellamy Brothers song Old Hippie and the three sequels 2, 3 and 4, each spaced about ten years apart it mirrors a lot of my life (and maybe yours too). I never thought about it before, but it does sound like he’s talking to God - put God first and everything else will fall place. Of course, we should never fail to tell someone we love them. I went to see him many years ago in Dublin. It was a pleasure to witness the talent of him and the members of his band. He waited till the end to play his classics and it brought the house down.
His version tops Rod Stewart's version every time. His song "Someone Like You" is perfect for weddings and anniversaries.

His most purely beautiful love ballad! Rod Stewart made this a huge hit. It could be a love song or a religious hymn (listen to the words). It came out on radio as I was returning from my Mom's funeral. I wept every time I heard it for months.

Lucky to see Van Morrison live a few times. He’s mercurial and it can be over quickly or last for 3-4 hours. I remember one where an uber fan shouted out ‘ play brown eyed girl Van’ every time there was a gap in the music. He lasted 3 songs before he walked off and didn’t come back.
I seen Van Morrison in 1974 my very 1st concert awesome.
Back in the good times my ex with his terrible singing voice would sing this one to me 💕. VM was one of his favorites. This takes me back. We made it 36 years so yeah lots to remember. Thanks for the smiles today. 💕🦩💕
