This is the "Judy" that Steven Stills wrote about in Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.
I came here to say this!
@carltonbakerii8274 I did too. Sweet Judy (with her) blue eyes. I saw her in concert last month. I believe she is 84 years old now. Still has a great voice and is very entertaining.
So Begins the Task by Still was also about her. And his song Bluebird with Buffalo Springfield.
James not too many people know That .l am
glad you brought it up
Donovan's Jennifer Juniper' is about a lost girlfriend (Jennifer Boyd sister of Pattie) and there is also the famous Lady from Baltimore (Susan Yardley Morss,) made famous by Tim Hardin at al.
Judy's biggest chart hit was her 1967 cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now", and is definitely worth a listen. A great song, beautiful arrangement, and an exquisite voice.
Neil Diamond had a great cover of that, also.
A beautiful song, and I think Judy Collins sings it best by far.
It always makes me think of the movie Love Actually, the Joni Mitchell song.
Also a big hit, especially in Australia, is Judy's version of "Amazing Grace" really sublime.
If you want a new favorite song, Pink Floyd - Dogs is the one 🐕🦺❤
"Send in the Clowns" is a song written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 musical A Little Night Music, an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's 1955 film Smiles of a Summer Night. The song is a ballad from Act Two, in which the character Desirée reflects on the ironies and disappointments of her life. Among other things, she looks back on an affair years earlier with the lawyer Fredrik, who was deeply in love with her, but whose marriage proposals she had rejected. The song is a metaphor for the moment in a play when things become farcical and the clowns are sent in to entertain the audience. The lyrics "Don't bother, they're here" mean that "We are the fools". The song is a show business reference, which is to say, "This show isn't going well, so let's start giving them our best jokes!". The song is a song of regret, and it's a song of a lady who is too upset and too angry to speak - meaning to sing for a very long time.
You did a much better job of describing than I ever could. Thanks
@@Peter-oh3hc Agreed! The lyrics only really make sense in the context of the musical.
When there's a disaster during a circus act, they send in the clowns to distract the audience.
What also is nice is the reprise at the end when she and Frederik sing the song together. Makes for a nice coda for sure.
Thanks Captain Wiki. I know how to copy and paste too.
This earned a grammy. Judy needs to receive more attention. ✌
Sweet Judy blue eyes. ♥

Both Sides Now
Janis Ian went on too win that grammy for best female pop performance 1976 but what a hall of a group of Women! Judy Collins , Janis Ian , Helen Reddy , Olivia Newton John and Linda Ronstadt
"what's surprising"!!
Judy,
Still
Sings great,
In her 70's.
Such a gift!!
Damn, Amber, that look you got in your eyes as it sunk in at the beginning…this is why I come to this channel. Pure presence and truth and appreciation.

So right. Amber, you have radar for the emotion in songs. Unbelievable reaction to an all-time classic
@@stuartmorgan1770 She spotted that it was from a musical too. She's a very perceptive young woman.
One of the great songs written for the musical stage ( from "A Little Night Music") turned pop standards!!! As people get older, they finally get and FEEL the lyrics. There are sooo many versions of this amazing song!!! MAMA has such an ear, she guessed it could be done for Broadway.
I saw A Little Night Music with my then boyfriend when it came to Chicago. Margaret Hamilton who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard Of Oz performed in it.
Stephen Sondheim!

@@donnakubiski5572 she must've been wonderful.
As much as I've always loved this song, I was 40+ before I really felt the lyrics.
This is what a pure voice sounds like.
Judy Collins is a first class musician and pianist . Her vocals have an ethereal quality that I have always loved. A master of her craft.
She wasn't on my radar as a kid growing up in the rock era, but as an old(er) dude, I can appreciate her chameleon-like talent-folk, popular, and torch song singer all in one.
The word ethereal is what I've always used to describe her vocal quality! I can close my eyes and listen to her music and just relax and smile. Such a class act!
Me too though a bit boring in concert.
This came out when I was 10 years old. It’s a major all-time classic and a magical, beautiful song. Classy and sophisticated, no doubt. 🌹
"I thought that you'd want what I want - sorry my dear."
I remember playing this in orchestra with of theater and show songs. Her voice is virtually impeccable.
What a classic…just a beautiful song…sung by a beautiful lady!! ❤️
I use to sing this at the top of my lungs and always ended up in tears. As a child I sometimes felt alone . I found music as my saving grace, but also a release in trouble times when I felt I didn’t have a voice. This was a song that I found both. Thank you for playing it.
Today, that little girl is no longer lonely. She praises the Lord and has found her voice and now sings at the top of her lungs for the Lord! Blessings to all❤️🙏
YYYEEESSSS!!!!! Cant wait to meet you heaven!

@@TheUprightLuthier-1959Did you get touched up by a priest or someting?
I just saw Judy Collins in concert earlier this week. She's 85 years old now and still has a magical voice. She closed the show with this song and you could tell it really moved many in the audience. She's an American legend.
You are right Amber. The song was in the Broadway musical " A Little Night Music". You really ought to hear her do "Amazing Grace". She had a #15 hit with her version in 1971.😎
Nobody did Amazing Grace live in concert better than Joan Baez.
Amber saying the song is made for the stage... yes, literally. It was written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 musical A Little Night Music.
In the musical, the song is performed by Desiree, an ageing actress whose career has been reduced to touring small stages in small towns. She's reflecting on her life choices and where they have led her. That's why the tone of the song is one of regret and melancholy.
My favourite versions and by actresses, who played the part and sang it, on stage, are by Glynis Johns (the original) and Judy dench (a UK production). Both on youtube and hit the pathos much better than this version. I don't mind Judy's work - just never bought any, as I preferred the originals of most of what she recorded.
@@willcambeul6172 The Judy Dench version is half spoken, but it hits hard. She evokes that feeling of "is this it? is this all I have?" and nails it.
Judy had a major top 40 hit with "Amazing Grace"...yes, the gospel song. We actually played it at my father's funeral.
One of the best versions of Amazing Grace I ever heard!
Played for my grandmother's too.
Yes!! Played at my Dad's funeral as well.
Both Sides Now written by Joni Mitchell was Judy’s greatest hit. It’s a beautiful song, too.
I’m in my 50s and the melody is as melancholy as the lyrics - I played this song on the recorder in school. So beautiful and memorable.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Every star has covered this song but nobody did it like Judy Collins. Frank Sinatra did it as well.
Lyrics:
Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground
You in mid-air
Send in the clowns
Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around
One who can't move
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns
Just when I'd stopped opening doors
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
Sure of my lines
No one is there
Don't you love farce?
My fault, I fear
I thought that you'd want what I want
Sorry, my dear
But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns
Don't bothеr, they're herе
Isn't it rich?
Isn't it queer?
Losing my timing this late
In my career?
And where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns
Well, maybe next year...
Thank
Saw her live in 1976 at an outdoor concert. Sent her flowers. Yeah, a celebrity crush. She put some of the flowers in her guitar strings. I felt so proud! Others have made great comments, but none of the "Whales and Nightingales" album. "Farewell to Tarwathie" where she sings with humpback whale songs, is stunning. Another stunning one is "Albatross" from the Wildflowers album. Lastly , her tribute to Duke Ellington on the "Judith" album entitled "Song for Duke." I'll stop there.
Her version of "Both Sides Now" (by Joni Mitchell I think) is my absolute favorite. Also "Someday Soon" is wonderful.
I'm glad someone else mentioned "Someday Soon". What a great song. The original by Ian Tyson, as well as covers by Judy Collins, and later, Suzy Bogguss, are all great. My favorite is Suzy's, but only because I heard her rendition first, before I discovered the older versions.
Someone taking 'Amazing Grace' into the top 10 in the UK charts in 1970 may sound unlikely, but you'll understand once you've listened to Judy sing it, simply awe inspiring.
It astounds me the number of times that Amber hits the nail on the head. "It should be on the stage" because it was on the stage. Best song from the Broadway Musical "A Little Night Music" by Stephen Sondheim
An absolute favorite of mine! Judy sang from her soul. This song grabs your heart from the beginning.
Is there anyone who doesn't reflect on a relationship they've had that went a way similar to this, and felt just like this? I know I do.
Judy Blue Eyes charted the song Amazing Grace on the POP charts as a top 20 hit in the early 1970s which resonated with people in the middle of the Vietnam War, with just that gorgeous clear voice, no instruments, pure acapella. No one else like her.
Wife Speaking.. I don't know why but, as a toddler, I would cry uncontrollably when this song played.., I think it still evokes such feelings..❤
Me too!
I'm choking up right now.
I’m testing my limits right now. Listening to it
It’s not working
There's a very specific meaning to the phrase, "send in the clowns." In the circus, if something is going wrong, they send in the clowns to distract the audience. The character that sings it in the play is an actress, so she would be familiar with this show business term and use it while discussing her relationship in shambles.
Glad to see this comment. I’ve been reading some of the others and was surprised that no one else was aware of the circus connection. I always visualized her as having an accident (metaphorically) and lying on the ground while he was still in mid air.
Judy Collins is a national treasure!
J&Amber, you'll love her "Both Sides Now"!!!!
She did a whole album of Leonard Cohen covers, which was great. Those two were kinda besties. Like Kate and Leo! 😀 In fact, I heard she never wrote her own songs until she met him and he inspired her to do it. I love that. Hang on. Have y'all ever listened to any Leonard Cohen songs yet? If not, I will happy to provide a list. I'm sure others in this comment section would be as well. 👍
Agree wholeheartedly! Just suggested "Suzanne"
I also love the album of Cohen songs on the album Famous Blue Raincoat by Jennifer Warnes.
Yes, Leonard Cohen is a must. "Everybody Knows" and "Who By Fire" are two of my favorites by him.
Especially his last album
@@MonicaGz ..an absolute brilliant album. Love it . Leonard once joked ,tongue in cheek most likely..........." I finally found someone who can sing my songs ,the way they should be sung"....... Don't sell yourself short Leonard.
Judy has such a lovely voice. This song was originally in a Stephen Sondheim musical, A Little Night Music. She doesn't have the same type of voice but something in this vein to listen to might be Melissa Manchester's well-known version of Don't Cry Out Loud.
Oh, I LOVE that song! Gets me right in the feels every time.
Wow, that named brings back memories. Melissa Manchester.
Sondheim is my favorite, always. I second Melissa M's Don't Cry Out Loud, it's diva material.
Covered by many, even the great Sinatra, but equaled by none. A masterpiece.
"Send in the clowns" is a traditional theater response when things aren't going well. The play isn't working, send in the clowns!
My mom bought me the sheet music for this song to play on piano when I was about 11 or 12 years old and I LOVED playing it so much. It was one of mom's favorite songs and I'm just sitting here tearing up listening to it again.
Judy Collins is the only artist I have seen live in concert multiple times; she is THAT good and she is still good. She sounds even better live. She does a beautiful version of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" too. Search CZcams for Cohen and Collins singing "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye" in 1976 live on TV - so much talent and beauty...touched by angels
"Send In the Clowns" was written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 stage musical "A Little Night Music," an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's 1955 film"Smiles of a Summer Night."
Beautiful Judy tearing down the walls around music genres since the 60s! In her 80s and still performing. She recently cut her signature flowing hair and still is a beauty! More Judy, please!
There's a video of Dame Judi Dench singing this at The Proms and it's amazing. She does a more theatrical speak-sing style instead of just fully ballad singing. You should definitely watch it. It's from the musical A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim.
I think I might have seen that?
I would love to see them do dame Judi dench's version.
@@sarablack2547 Here's the link. I find her version really emotional. czcams.com/video/yvZex3Qf7QQ/video.htmlsi=QobNlR3EZrqqQGo5
It wasn’t until I saw Judi Dench’s performance that I really understood what this song was about - and then I was shattered.
@Emilaria I love the version with Judi Dench at The Proms. The song was meant to be theatrical speak sing because it was originally done by Glynis Johns.
Even Ol' Blue Eyes himself couldn't resist recording this song. Another fine version - from the master
interpreter of the art of lyric writing..
Amber, this song was originally written for a theater play. So you are correct, it was performed on a stage.
I have loved her voice since the late '60s. Bonus: She is as gracious as her singing is sublime.
I first heard this song when I was 16. During my high school summer school abroad program we were studying in Salamanca. I was sitting in a stone window sill looking at the beblue sky and this song came over the roof top of the dorm next to us. It is my all time favorite song (Judy’s version). I did not know it was from a Broadway musical at the time. I guess it is appropriate that now I work in a theatre. 45 years later and it still transports me Back to that window sill in Spain. Thanks for the reaction and the memories.
Her rendition of Amazing Grace is haunting and will reach your soul.
She is the girl that Crosby, Stills, and Nash sang about in "Suite Judy Blue Eyes"
The oboe compliments Ms. Collins' voice.
Years ago I played this song for a group of salsa music lovers. A quiet fell over them. Everyone was lost in their thoughts. This is just magic. It hits even for those who don't understand the lyrics.
Written by Stephen Sondheim. Brilliant songwriter for Broadway stage
Sondheim wrote this for a '70s Broadway musical based on a '50s Ingmar Bergman film. On the theatre stage it was performed by Glynis Johns.
Amber, you are correct! This was written by Stephen Sondheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music.
Also, you have already reacted to Crosby, Stills and Nash’s Suite Judy Blue Eyes. This is the Judy of that song. Stephen Stills had a crush on her and wrote that song for her. Now you can understand why!
Judy Collins was always one of my favorite voices back in the 1960s-70s. She's stunning. And in my opinion, this isn't even her best, but it's still mind-bendingly good. I first started listening to her when I was in the 7th grade in 1962. Check out Someday Soon, Both Sides Now, Chelsea Morning, and many more.
My Father.. Secret Gardens… Born To The Breed… , these that are her own compositions…❤❤❤❤
Chelsea Morning is by Joni Mitchell. Maybe Judy sang it on one of her albums.
@@johntiggleman4686 Yes, Judy covered it… not to get into politics, but I believe that Chelsea Clinton was named after Judy’s rendition of the song…
@@johntiggleman4686 the songs in my comment Judy wrote… the songs in the original comment, other people wrote those.. I think Ian Tyson of Ian and Sylvia wrote Someday Soon…
Such a great voice. Her rendition of Amazing Grace is my all time favorite and makes my heart soar every time I hear it.
If I could request one Judy song it would be her cover of "In My Life" it`s stunning.
Stephen Sondheim a musical genius. Judy Collins voice clear as a bell
It sounds like a song from a stage musical because it is :) Love Judy Collins. Fun fact: The song Suite: Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills & Nash was about Judy Collins - Stephen Stills and Ms. Collins dated at one time.
“Both sides now” is my favorite, beautiful vocalist.
3 seconds in and I'm balling my eyes out. I miss you mom. I love you!
Exactly, I feel the same.
You hit the nail on the head Amber, It's from the Broadway play "A Little Night Music" which premiered February 1973.
Amazing Grace… she did an amazing job!!!
There is no way before this channel that Jordan (Jay) would have ever given this song a listen. Joyous to see how their musical appreciation has broadened.
Yup Jays ‘appreciatin’ all the way to the bank. He’s no dummy 😂
The Judy Collins song you should react to is "Both Sides Now." It's a little bit faster, and you'll love her metaphors comparing life to clouds. That's how I interpret it.
Joni Mitchell's original version is infinitely superior
This was written for the stage. Written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 musical A Little Night Music
Just an FYI, Judy Collins is the Judy in "Suite : Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Judy was one of the great voices of her day. This song was written by Stephen Sondheim for a musical play back in the 70s. Also there is a song called Suite Judy Blue Eyes written by stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills and Nash. He was dating Judy Collins and felt her slipping away from him. The spelling of suite was a play on words for Sweet Judy Blue Eyes. Man I miss the 70s. All you had to do to hear great music was turn on the radio. Stay well guys.
This was a beautiful version sung by a lady with a wonderful voice and reminds me of the original singer of 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' which is also well worth listening to, this was originally released by Julie Covington in 1976! Hope you give it a go! ❤
Immortalized in Crosby, Still, Nash and Youngs, Sweet Judy Blue Eyes.
Good pick-up, Amber, since this was from a Broadway show as noted below. That picture of Judy is the cover of her "Judith" album, which has many beautiful songs, some of which she wrote. Years earlier, she was a young folk singer who was well-known and had albums out even then. Judy was with Stephen Stills for a while and "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" was about her and their relationship.
I always can't wait for Female Friday but this one just took me by surprise. I love this song, Love Miss Judy and I thought the reaction was awesome. You once reacted to Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now, Judy did a great version of that one as well. She's amazing!
Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece from his stage musical “A Little Night Music”.
The character who sings it in the play is an actress. That’s the reason for these theatrical expressions in the lyrics. When an act is ruined, they used the “send in the clowns” trick to save the day. Miss Streisand has a beautiful performance of the song, too. ♥️🌟
A stunning song sung by a wonderful lady with a fabulous voice. In the show A Little Night Music the song was written for an actress with a limited range. it is sung by Desiree to her former lover It is so good hearing now, so often, sung by a wonderful singer.
NO ONE DOES "AMAZING GRACE" BETTER THAN JUDY........ YOU GUYS MUST GIVE THAT ONE A LISTEN!
There are so many great interpretaions of this Steven Sondheim classic... and this is a great one. Very perceptive, Amber... the song is from the 1973 musical "A Little Night Music".
Amber was spot on when she said this sounds like it was meant for the stage! It's from the Stephen Sondheim musical "A Little Night Music," and it's his most famous song, and the only song of his to become a big chart hit. I was a little kid when it came out, and I didn't really know what it was about at the time, but it was just incredible to hear and listen to!
By the way, I would love to see you venture more into musical theater, or even opera. You should hear Renee Fleming sing "O mio babbino caro." Blows me away every time!
Her rendition of Amazing Grace is heart-stoppingly beautiful.
'Suite Judy Blue Eyes' one of the finest singers of my generation :)
Oh my goodness!
Thank you for reacting to Ms. Judy Collins!!
I had all but forgotten this one......
From those opening notes on the oboe (?).... I had tears in my eyes.
There is something. MAGICAL about this song... the simple music...her soaring, clear, crisp, pure voice.... and you can get lost in her eyes!!
and, AGAIN the 1970s!
God! What a decade for music!!
I am impressed that you got the theatrical origin of the song. Stephen Sondheim wrote the music and lyrics to it for his musical called A Little Night Music. He has written the music and lyrics to quite a few musicals including Into the Woods. He wrote the lyrics to a musical called West Side Story.
Absolute best version.
You'd love Judy Collins' The Blizzard. Absolutely beautiful
STUNNING arrangement and IMPECCABLE VOCALS....LOVE HER!!! This one always makes me tear up.... Glad you enjoyed it!! HUGS!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Great pick. Beautiful song. I've never seen a more perceptive reactor than Amber. She picks up things on first listen, like she knew this was written for the stage and it was! ( A Little Night Music).
SHE AND J .MITCHELL .......THEIR BLUE ALBUMS .....The best of THE 60 and 70 'S
Has a similar beauty & feel as Betty Buckley singing, "Memory", from the musical Cats.
I like your reaction to Judy's rendition of this beautiful song, but would have liked to hear a little more of how you felt about the song itself. The beautiful melody and the intense lyrics reflecting on a relationship.
Amber, this was written for the stage! It's from Stephen Sondheim's 1973 Broadway musical, "A Little Night Music". From the 1960's into the 2000's, he was arguably the most important, and certainly the most innovative, writer for Broadway (he wrote both music and lyrics). You could--I'm not necessarily saying you should--spend a month reacting to versions of this Sondheim song alone. Cabaret singer Bobby Short (you should check him out) first picked it up for his shows, and then Sinatra recorded it, and then Judy Collins, and from there it was covered by everybody from Sarah Vaughan and Barbara Streisand to Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton-John, and Tom Jones. Other Sondheim musicals include "Sweeney Todd", "Into the Woods", "Sunday in the Park with George", "Follies", and my favorite, "Company".
Suite Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills and Nash was written about Judy Collins. Her version of Suzanne is one of her best.
She was involved with Stephen Stills for a while, and wrote the CSN song "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" for her. She wrote "Houses" about him. Dylan wrote "I'll Keep It With Mine" for her. I like her version of "Someday Soon".
One of the greatest 60s singers.
Judy has a hauntingly beautiful voice. It's a sad song, beautifully sung.
One of my favorite voices of all time. Both Sides Now is her biggest hit, but she doesn’t have a bad song. She does a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace.
I can NOT listen to this song and not cry. I just can't. I try and try and try....to NO avail. Just beautiful.
Written by one of the greats of Broadway Musical Theatre Stephen Sondheim (1972). For the Broadway Musical "A Little Night Music (1973)." First sung by Broadway actress and writer Glynis Johns. Done masterfully by the great Judy Collins. It became her signature song. Awesome! Note: Stephen Sondheim did the music for the 1960 Broadway musical and movie "The Westside Story." Judy's other great hits were "Both Sides Now" and "Suzanne." Rest In Peace Judy. You left us all with great memories and a lasting legacy.
Sondheim did music and lyrics for *A Little Night Music* and most of his other shows, but at the beginning of his career, he wrote lyrics only for several shows, collaberating with other composers. *West Side Story* was the first of these, with music by Leonard Bernstein.
I am so thrilled. I have been begging for this woman to be a reaction. I am a retired vocal music teacher and there are three women with whom I would gladly change my voice with theirs:
1. Judy Collins
2. Karen Carpenter
3. Anne Murray
Judy is the inspiration for Stephen Sills ' masterpiece "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes".
This song is from a musical "A Little Night Music".
Judy is from the 1960's folk era. I Always said her voice is like a bell...so pure. The album you had on your computer is full of some awesome music. She did a couple of covers that I personally like better than the original "Both Sides Now" "The City of New Orleans" "Chelsea Morning". She is a peer of Joni Mitchell. I prefer Judy to Joni. The Suite Judy Blue Eyes" was recorded by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Saw her in concert at Ravinia near Chicago. She is amazing. Thank you so much.
You are putting these three above Linda Ronstadt !!!
I sigh when no one mentions Joan Baez. Judy literally learned from her.
@@jameswiglesworth5004 Yes - I like Ronstadt and enjoy her songs. But hands down the three I mentioned are my personal choice. There is a quality I wish I had as a singer. I can harmonize to them. Ronstadt is more full - a stand alone performer. Like her but she would be down the list. Sorry just my personal preference. I'll take Judy over Joni or Joan Baez any day of the week - even on their songs.
I@@laurabrevitz3944 Joan Baez is alright for me but I prefer Judy to Joan. Judy's voice has more of a bell like quality. Joan is more strident - not my personal preference
Heh. I'm a guy, and even I try to copy KC...the absolute queen of the ballad.
Linda Ronstadt, on the other hand, was the versatility queen. That lady could sing ANYTHING.
This song by Judy is so exquisite and so searching to, hauntingly beautiful. It just makes you shiver it is that good! ❤😢
"Send In the Clowns" is a song written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 musical A Little Night Music, an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's 1955 film Smiles of a Summer Night. (Love Rob Squad)
Ms. Collins voice is AMAZING, like others have said, well done Amber, picking up the theatrical nature of this awesome Sondheim song! A bit of music trivia for you. Stephen Stills, of Buffalo Springfield and CSNY fame wrote the song "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" about her and their relationship from when they were together. And from that beautiful cover picture, you can see why! It's a great song too and I highly recommend it!
It is a stage song... Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" from 1973. Judy Collins' version earned Song of The Year at the Grammy Awards in 1976, enshrining it in musical theater and pop music history.
Listen to her version of "Amazing Grace" recorded with a choir @ St. Patrick's Cathedral. Mind. Blowing.
I only known the Barbara Streisand version of this song. Very beautiful and relaxing
Her voice is so strong and loud in concert. Saw her with the Denver Orchestra, fantastic night back in 1985.
Colorado Girl!
One of the best voices in all of human history. I can recommend "Someday Soon" (quite a story with a country vibe) and "Amazing Grace" done a capella. I get chills just thinking of it.
"Suite Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills, and Nash was to her. She and Steven Stills were a thing in the 70s.
Otherworldly voice. Just beautiful.
When you really study the lyrics, this is one of the saddest songs ever written. That Stephen Sondheim could sure write a tear jerker.
