At age 49 walked down the aisle in my backyard to marry my second husband. We had both been through so much in our lives before we met and this song just fit. We’d known each other for only 5 months. It’s over 8 years later and I don’t know what I’d do without him in my life. We’ve both had major medical and financial issues but we still love each other, care for each other and laugh every day.
This was our first dance song 20 years ago

Van Morrison is a major poet of this world, very few people in this world can write songs and sing like this man. Some people complain about Van Morrison they say he is a difficult and moody man, I say to those people please leave Van Morrison alone, he owes you nothing, but may people all over this world owe a lot to Van Morrison. Some of the very greatest artists carry a heavy load, their back and on their shoulders. Thanks a million, Van Morrison for what you have given to others and the man that you are.
If They only knew and understood the greatness...maybe they might listen to a special cut and research a song such as "John Lee Hooker & Van Morrison - Don't Look Back." Maybe a song like "out in the cold again".

This was dedicated to me by a man I loved deeply who recently passed away. I will never be able to hear this song without thinking of him and tearing up. Beautiful song, beautiful sentiment, and something I will probably never find again.

He does the mumbly phrasing for effect quite a lot. He plays with the sounds of his words like a painter changes his brush strokes.
This song has been featured in seven movies. Not surprisingly, six of them are fairly successful romantic comedies (The seventh is American Sniper.). It is a perfect song to play in combination with Van Morrison's other beautiful love song, Have I Told You Lately.

Yeah, this is one of those songs that a band would save for late in the reception, when the crowd starts to thin out, there's confetti, streamers and balloons all over the dance floor, all the girls have their high heels off and everyone is pretty toasty. Music makes the memories.

After his better known first few albums Van Morrison continued to produce some utterly beautiful albums. This one (Poetic Champions compose) and the sublime ‘Beautiful Visions’. Prefer these to his earlier material. Gentle, self assured and beautifully melodic.

Hi Brad & Lex. I want to recomend you react to russian rock legend Victor Tsoy and his band Kino. Amazing style, melodies. In soviet union time he was for freedom, democrasy. But KGB kill him. In Russia everybody know him. His song "Changes" play in protest meetings against government now. Kino have many hits. Some of them: группа крови (blood type); спокойная ночь (calm night); кукушка ( coockoo bird); звезда по имени солнце (a star colled the sun); кончится лето (summer will end); красно желтые дни (red - yellow days). I prefer "Reason To Believe" by Tim Hardin (If I Were A Carpenter) which has the same refrain far more than this meandering song.
