- Universal Music Publishing Group took down the video and issued a copyright strike on May 2nd. However, videos of Don Henley talking about their group of 60 employees whose sole job is to scour the internet for Eagles content to remove, is the reasoning for the wording in our video & posts. This happens far more frequently with Eagles than the majority of other bands, leading to the natural conclusion that they are fully aware and responsible for this.

I will never understand this type of censorship. These videos create and spread interest in songs, albums, artists, etc. Record labels, silencing these videos isn’t gaining you interest in your artists, it’s keeping them from a door to new music discovery and appreciation. That’s so sad 😢. In this day and age, artists and record labels need to understand reaction channels gives them exposure and honestly I just like seeing other people enjoy the same music as me, it feels like showing a friend a song.
As a 59 year old, I enjoy watching young people's reactions to my back-in-the-day music and I particularly like watching your reactions. I hope everything works out and God bless you both and your beautiful baby!

I will never understand the record company thinking on this. As you said, if someone is really serious about wanting to only hear a song, they go to the label site where it plays, usually with a video, uninterrupted and free- so how does that help artists or record companies. But more important, how many people have discovered a song on a reaction channel, then gone somewhere to buy and download that song, thereby earning the record company AND the artist money they never would have had without the reaction. Yet they want to shut down reactions? What?!?! If I was an artist I'd want hundreds of reaction videos to promote my song (with interruptions so people can't use it as free downloads). WTF?

@@Johnny_Socko unfortunately the problem is they are trying to make money off of it if it was a hobby being a reactor and they were doing it for fun and education and not money they would be just fine with it. When you're using the artist name to make money without paying them that's a little dishonest. All these CZcamsrs need to do is create their own content and they will be fine. Lots of the old reactors are doing just that now and doing just fine. But you have to put in some work besides just sitting in front of your phone camera reacting to somebody's music.

It is my understanding that it is more likely the record companies, or the otherwise copyright owners that are dictating and linked to the CZcams algorithms that find these things, rather than the artists themselves.

I checked, and there isn’t even a way to contact any customer service at CZcams. So infuriating and yet another example of a corporation that’s gotten way way too big.

These companies/artists are absolutely insane to worry about copyright infringement bs. Channels like this expose the music to so many people out there and that is 100% a tremendous thing for the artists/bans/etc. It always leads up to the people on top in almost everything, they do not care at all about the people.

I wonder if a CZcamsr can acquire the same license clubs with Jukeboxes have for the same reason - they are making money while customers listen to copyrighted music. The fact no one can 'record' these videos purely for 'stealing' music is impossible given the reactors comments and etc. during the experience. There is something else going on . . . .

Are you serious? This is one of the best reaction channels. I do hope you don't delete this account. So many other GOOD reactors long gone. Those copyright holders need to understand, this is the reason people can discover such artists or songs. Most radio play will just repeat their 100 song playlist and nothing else. After watching a reaction, if someone wasn't familiar with the song or artist being reacted to & really liked it, that might encourage them to download (pay for) the song (or even an entire album), which puts money in both the artists & the music company's pockets. I really wish a lawyer would try to get a whole group of CZcams reactors together to lobby CZcams to stand up for them when it comes to this fair use stuff.

It’s people like you, keeping artists like them popular. Their streaming apps (iTunes, Spotify, etc) that are directly benefiting from your free advertising. Just insane
It's like back in the day, when I was a kid and would tape songs from the radio and albums. It meant I liked the music. If I liked it enough, I'd go out and buy it. You need to hear things first before you buy things. Normally artists and record companies understand this.

Their videos DO get people interested in artists, and potentially get people to buy the artists' music, whereas if you've already bought a mixtape from someone, you have much less of a reason to go out and buy the music from the artist, because you already have it.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched your channel then rediscovered alot of music I listened to many years ago. As the saying goes- " There's no such thing as bad publicity." Yeah these artists are letting greed blind them to the fact that a lot of these reaction videos are helping them be noticed again and remembered again so in my opinion it's very stupid move by artist and the record labels to complain about reaction videos when the criticism is very light if there is any usually it's all positive stuff you guys say about the music no matter what band you're reacting to I would have been much harsher to a couple of them in the 90s a lot of greedy big-name artists tried to fight people downloading their music for free they couldn't stop trillions of people doing it they couldn't police them and I still watch them bands raking in the millions like the money hungry James and Lars from Metallica what sucks is they can stop this they should be thanking y'all and be happy that they're getting free publicity damn people are stupid these days instead of thinking of the money there losing they should be thinking of the money they're probably gaining and thanking you all 4 the number of young people that are showing interest in a lot of the old ass music I love you guys ain't asking nothing from them t for the free advertisement it's ridiculous you're the first ones I ever watched I've been watching you guys an few other reactors ever since I need to subscribe though don't i and don't feel bad I've never subscribed to nothing on CZcams but I think I'm about to subscribe now thank you

The music business does damage to itself, by stopping reaction videos from fans. The videos stimulate interest in bands! Hope you will be able to continue doing what you do on this great channel.

It’s the individual bands doing it. There are a lot of bands on the same record label as the Eagles that allow their music to be used on CZcams & social media. Bob Dylan, Prince, the Beatles, & the Eagles are all notorious for being strict on this.
Yeah if I were in a band, I would not care. As many CZcamsrs wanted to play the bands songs? We would take it. However, its the band and labels, not so much the industry as an entity that push back like this. Although you make the socially popular point that bands hurt themselves for restricting their exposure to fans otherwise they make not get. That is not how the artists or the production companies see it. What they see is someone profiting from their music without consent, and they will call it stealing, taking money away from them. Getting fans is not the concern, particularly from older artists, it is that someone is making money off of their music.

Don't delete anything! That Eagles probably get on anylize before "private" status. Next time use rain filter or similar, and also you can put that filter on old videos if you want. Why, because Humans don't anylize YT videos, Its controled by AI auto-programs. They detect video, and no song if you make pause few times during video. Just dont use too strong filter so that we can see video...

Thanks to your reaction, I have returned more than once to the artists and songs I listened to as a teenager 25 years ago. Often the next day, while driving, for example, in a car, I listened on Spotify to the artists whose songs you reacted to, at the same time the labels earned money on these plays on spotify, so there was a benefit for them. Today's studio people are just morons. All the best for you.

These labels are short sighted in being overprotective about content. I don't know how many songs and bands I've been turned on to because I saw a reaction to it.

I hope it doesn't happen. I super enjoy watching you both and I understand this isn't just something you do for fun but to support your family, so the consequences of being kicked off would be more than must an ordinary bummer. I don't understand artists (or other copyright holders) who don't realize this is free publicity for their product. It helps keeps interest in the songs alive to watch new reactions and hear critiques etc. In fact, the genre of reaction vids is the main thing I come to youtube for. So I hope they realize the folly of their mistake and I hope you get to keep your channel. Positive thoughts!!
It's because of reactors like you guys that I have gone out and purchased more songs from many artists that you have covered. You have introduced me to music and artists that I otherwise would never had listened to. They're shooting themselves in the foot by limiting/striking down these reaction channels, as they expose audiences to many artists' catalogues of work, thereby shutting off a potential revenue stream for themselves. Reactors provide "free advertising" in a sense for these record labels, but they don't see that - they only see an ill-perceived "loss" of $ by having people listen to their songs for free. Everything's a money-grab these days, unfortunately.
Joe I agree 100%. I have often after watching a reaction video delved into an artist catalog and gained a greater appreciation of the artist which should absolutely be beneficial to the label or artist. It will result in greater revenue in the long run so I like you see this a so short sighted and as you say shooting themselves in the foot.

It’s always been like this to some extent, even pre-internet. You would listen to recorded tapes from your friends and that was a way of discovering new artists who you would then go and buy their records and go to their concerts if you got the chance.

CZcams is free advertising for the artists -- the SAME THING that radio airplay is meant for. Reactors provide new exposure to older artists -- artists that are no longer big earners for the record companies. So with each copyright strike the record companies are saving pennies, while sacrificing hundreds of dollars due to the lost exposure. The music industry has always been blind to any alternative form of marketing, other than the now-broken system they cooked up 80 years ago.

CZcams has nothing to do with copyright decisions. It’s a legal matter for the courts to decide.
Lex you hit the nail on the head direct! How anyone could think a person comes to this channel, or any other reaction channel, to listen to a song is absurd. To me, your channel is more like friends getting together to share what they like and what they don't about music. Channels like yours just make it possible for thousands of friends to gather together at once. Keep strong in your love of music and more importantly, of each other and of the little miracle on your lap!

They could just sit there and talk about a song they heard the other day, but that's not really what people are doing here, they also want to hear the song, and it's really the reason why people come to this channel. Just see how many views they'd have if they sat there "reacting" to dirty diapers or not getting any sleep or anything in their own life. These two know they can't make very much money that way so they make it on musicians copyrighted recordings instead, and they don't pay for it. I notice movie reactors only play a fraction of a movie, they don't play an entire movie, but music reactors do play the whole song. Maybe they should only play a fraction of the song. Obviously something needs to be figured out between CZcams reactors not paying for the music through which they make their income.

I'm not sure exactly how the copyright system works right now, but I think itd be fine if the companys received the revenue from these videos, and it seems like Lex and Brad were ok with that, but shutting down their whole channel is too far.
I have heard most of the songs dozens if not hundreds of times, I come here to watch and listen to Brad and Lex and see how they react.

I would like to thank you for your reaction videos. I am a musician and live alone, so connecting with people through music is a huge part of my life. Seeing first reactions to new music can revive older songs for people and remind them of how they first felt when hearing that song. I'm on the verge of boycotting CZcams. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I really enjoyed your 80's rock and metal reactions. You're absolutely correct, if we wanted to listen to a song, we'd look up the artists video. We watch you to see the reaction of someone hearing hearing something they don't typically listen to. I truly hope it all works out.

Exactly. I don't watch reaction videos just because of the songs, I watch for the reactions. If I wanted to just listen to the song, I'd go to the channels that have uninterrupted songs. I don't understand the objections by copyright holders. The songs are interrupted and maybe talked over. How could they lose money from reaction channels, or make money without them? Why are they so pigheaded about it?
I've heard and bought quite a few songs/albums since the 70s. Even so, there are many songs I've never heard before watching reaction channels. I may even buy some of them. Reaction channels are like free advertisement. Maybe reactions channels should get paid by the copyright holders for the free ads. 😉
It's been a joy for me at 72 years old and hearing and seeing someone young react to music from my past. I've dealt with labels as a musician and can say there are none more evil in their dealings. After all, the artists have made their money already and certainly the labels have made their money. I hope you have a good lawyer pop up who can straighten them out!

I can't understand why the labels have such a problem because you and other reactors are helping bands, especially older bands, reach a new audience and get sales. As an older person, I love to see the reactions hearing a song I grew up with for the first time. I especially enjoyed Lex getting excited over certain parts of songs. Made me smile. If i want to hear the whole song, I'll play it on their channel. Sad to see reactions being taken down as the record companies will now see their sales "Go Down" as a result. All the best and keep making content.

Not that this helps at all, but my auntie used to work for Mr. Henley at his foundation some years ago, and she said he was a royal d*ick to his employees. I don't generally comment on youtube, but I wanted you to know that you both seem like genuinely decent people and you've touched the lives of many with your videos. I'm hoping this resolves itself to your favor, but if it doesn't just know that another and better door will open for you both. The Eagles have always been litigious. They've even sued their own band members who've gone solo and tried singing their songs live. It's a shame that these millionaires can't let you react to their songs. If they weren't so old and crusty they would know that this is free advertising for their music that wouldn't exist otherwise.
