Arcus 8m - First flight at the seaside in Brittany

- Misty and stormy weather (40-60 km/h) at coast in Brittany. Newertheless, the first flight of ARCUS 8m should have been done in this marvelous county of Finistère/Brittany. Thanks to my brother Peter I, nephew Felix and Laurent for the launch, and special thanks to Gilles Gohier (pilote in the rear) to whom I dedicate this flight. Greetings from France. Music by U137

The lift it got was immediate, what a great soarer. Fantastic job on the build and cg. So inspirational. Such a joy to watch.That beauty just doesn’t want to come back down to Earth.🕊🏴❤️

I fly RC too but not gliders... yet.
But when this was launched so seemingly effortlessly it made me Smile from ear to ear.... and I never smile.

Wow! That was well done! Gliders have always fascinated me! They seem like gentle dying Giants. There quiet.. just sort of blend in with nature around them. Like working fields with horses. You can hear every stone that the plow turns over! Respect and congrats from the States!!

Beautiful plane, piloting skills, and video! I've watched several times and can enjoy it more now, knowing your crew survived the launch. Brings back great memories flying gliders off the coast of Southern California, including Torrey Pines, many years ago.

Brilliant team work! But who else kept skipping back to see how close to the edge he got as he tried to recover from the launch run . Now I know if anyone should ask help to launch I will choose to hold the back of the plane.

I was very nervous and cluttered. I watched this clip. And now, quite relaxed and overwhelmed by the pleasure, I put myself on the waves with this beautiful bird and embraced the soft music . Let it be whatever it wanted. These moments give me everything. Thanks friends.
Happy to see you glad with this video, for us, the possibility to unify our hobby with the pleasures of this wonderful nature, given to us and obviously destroyed very soon by ourselves. Take these moments in your mind and your heart.

I have 3 gliders a Renny 2m a Pulsar 3m and a chopped up Manticore 2m that I have always wanted to slope which I have never done... You have just inspired me to make sure that I do! That was so inspiring thank you. I owned a full size Open Cirrus. I cannot fly full sized now so bought a Graupner 3 metre model. @@gprrobby Yes, I was going to say they have an organic feel to their shape. The Wandering Albatross is my favourite bird and I may have to build a semi looking but full scale one some time.
