If I had a nickel for every rc video claiming to show the largest airplane, I'd be able to pay for another one. This example is magnificent though.
Beautiful model and great video. Sailplanes whether real or scale are my favorite planes. They are so graceful in the sky, its like watching a soaring hawk.
I think the tow plane was a sight in itself, especially the fabulous landing.
I agree. I found myself looking at it more than the glider.
I was a tugboat captain for 27 years. I immediately gravitated to the towplane...but the combination was awesome.
When she was a young girl, I took my late daughter up in a glider VERY similar in design concept to this one. Your editing, between onboard video and external footage, gave me chills - it was that reminiscent of the actual flight! Exquisite coverage; thank you!
That has a bigger wingspan that the full size glider I used to fly !
r u sure?
yes
Caleb Teague I think he would be pretty sure but I am not arguing. I see where your coming from. : )
Ben Sluman I was just like "wow" I would think that more weight=more wing, so I was just surprised at the fact that this weighs significantly less but has more wing.
:-)
That is nuts! Excellent video as always Horst!!
TAOFLEDERMAUS *_Thank you very much, my friend. It's always a pleasure to read your kind comments!_*
And sadly also a bit pointless in lots of countries now as the max distance you can fly it is less than 8 times its length.
I got very worried on the base to final turn because of the wingtip clearance but the pilot handled it like a pro. Just a gorgeous aircraft. I fly full size Sailplanes and I know how hard it is to fly such a long wing. Well done and congratulations.
That was amazing! Almost had the feeling that those two model pilots inside were also enjoying it.
Wow. Just wow. I wish I could be small enough to fit inside the cockpit of the glider. Watching this is like a dream.
Long wingspan = low induced drag. Short wing chord = low Reynolds number, and hence laminar flow over the wings, producing little drag. Very neat design. Thank you for sharing :-)
bird271828 *_Thank you very much for your great comments and the compliments. Much appreciated !_*
Gorgeous, love the scale and realism, excellent model!
s9523pink _Thank you for your kind comments!_
That landing pass was amazing. The way it held altitude, even gained from the look of it, as it made the turn was beautiful.
Impressive glider. I love the massive wingflex
The flex made me cringe.
This is excellence on every level and so nice to watch. Thank you for sharing your skills.
I am impressed by the red planes pilot skills. Nice flying
That was a gorgeous three point landing
Whoa, that's one big glider... I love the Wilga towing it.
MasterBata _Thank you for watching and commenting!_
Beautiful! That is truly a work of art in the air and on the ground.
Team Ski _thank you for the compliment !_
Beautiful plane and flight. I always feel so relieved when an expensive plane like this nails the landing.
Holy wingspan Horst! That's crazy big but what an awesome flight Gernot! The low level turns was amazing! An excellent job on the camerawork and video as always my friend, very enjoyable! Danke for sharing my friend! BIG thumbs up! Cheers Horst!
Cadillacstsv06 _Thank you very much, Fred._ I'm very pleased to read your kind comments. Hope you're doing well, my friend.
_Cheers, Horst_
I wasn't sure if the plane was able to perform efficiently with such a large wingspan, as it looked almost on the verge of folding under it's own weight... But I guess there is much more for me to learn from others who have more experience with sailplanes of this scale....! I applaud the pilot for his expertise, and hope to see, and learn more about these massive birds of this scale...! Thank you for sharing this video with us...
A dive looked like woulda ripped the wings off.
I watched a video of another R/C version of this sailplane and someone made the same comment. Someone else said the real sailplane's wings function the same.
That's exactly how the wings & wingspan of a glider is. The outrageous length is actually where its kind of vehicle gains efficiency from.
You have made the pilots so happy. Although they don't have the words to thank you they have lovely selfies.
Unfeasibly beautiful - a magnificent aircraft, so agile. It just cries out to fly!
StonyRC _Thank you for your kind comments. Much appreciated !_
Beautiful model! It is amazing to see the tight turns with the ultra high aspect ratio wings. Love the sound of those wings on the low passes, too.
Thank you for your kind comment, which I really appreciate. 👍😉
Some of the most graceful landings I've ever seen from rc aircraft. Such beauty!
Great RC tow video as I enjoyed that Wilga tow plane very much.
_Thank you very much for your kind comments !_
great vid horst, cannot believe how flexible those wings are !!!!!!!!!!!! the Mobius cams work well don't they m8, nice relaxing video to watch with that music as well,
That's what I was concerned about too. The wing flex seems to be pretty close to the limit. °,°
I wish I get another life to be with all guys with your wonderful works
Wow. Remarkable model and epic flying skills. Those low passes before landing were a joy. I've flown P2 in a Binder EB28 many times, these really are extraordinary gliders.
Beautiful and majestic!!!!! Outstanding!
LOL, it is pretty big! An awesome model and a great job with the camera and the editing of the video Horst! Thumbs up bro!
Cheers!
TripleThreatRC *_thank you my friend._*
Glad to hear that you liked the video 😎
_Cheers_
Beautiful technology and its application. Congratulations.
Another amazingly shot and edited video.... as usual.
Thanks.
psygn0sis _Thank you very much !_
Awesome flight! 👍🏾
Magnifique! Quelle belle maîtrise à l'atterrissage.
Beautiful landing! Those big wings make easy landings difficult, but he nailed it.
Absolutely incredible. I never knew. Thank you for enlightening me. Such skill.
_Thank you for your compliment. Much appreciated !_
@@RCScaleAirplanes Thank you.
Fantastic job !
Best compliments !!!
Excellent model and pilot! Nice flying!
holy wow what a awesome project. well done
That has to be seen to be believed Horst! - what a beautiful bird.
20 years ago I used to do a lot of slope soaring and had a similar design glider, though only about6' span - on a good day with thermals as well, it could stay up as long as the flight pack could last! These pattern gliders are very graceful.
Super video. :)
Great DETAIL, down to the crew's earstuds!!!! Beautiful Model!!!! That Wilga tug pilot's GOOD, too.
This is amazing! The detail inside the cockpit is great, too, the sliding vent windows, the pilot's microphone, and even the straps for the mannequins.
I think if I was flying this, I would look for three cameras that transmit real time video so that you could have a forward looking view from the cockpit and one to either side. Also, replace the forward looking tail camera with one that transmits data. Finally, and I have no idea if anyone makes one, a variometer that can send data to the ground.
One last thing, an airplane that size, I thought the Wilga that was towing it was the real thing, at first! At 15+m, that's one big airplane!
Spektrum makes one. I have it in all my sailplanes.
Wow! This is insane!!! Nice! 👍🏼
SGCrawlers RC / MyHonchoSG *_thanks ! ! !_*
Nope. This is clickbait
Absolutely outstanding !
Great flying from the sailplane pilot!
Seriously....that is some amazing modeling!-John in Texas
_Thank you for your kind words, John. Much appreciated !_ 👍😎
That landing show was ballsy, I wouldn't want to fly cubic dollars of sailplane model like that so close to the ground !
Looking again and amazing pictures.
*_Thank you for your kind comments. Much appreciated !!!_*
Incredible how much those glider wings flex.Nice work Horst.
spocktra50 *_thanks Mark._*
The flexing of the wings are the same as on the full scale Eta !
@@RCScaleAirplanes Try doing a loop with it.
The inside of the wings is filled with warm butter that explaines the flex.
What a beauty of an airplane! Excellent flying also!
Herr Bruchmann flies that RC sailplane better than I flew a real one. AUSGEZEICHNET!!
Yeah, nice to see scale pilots who can actually fly the planes :). I've been a to a few scale events, and most people there seem to be great builders, not so great pilots...
UPDATE - I didn't think to point out that the 51ft wingspan on this is greater that the 46ft wingspan of the Schweizer 1-36 I was flying.
What an amazing model! And properly big too, yesterday I flew (as a pilot, not RC) a grob 102 which has a 15m wingspan, so the model is (at least in wingspan) bigger than some full size gliders!
Thank you for your kind comment, which I really appreciate !!!
Yes. The *ETA-1* is a very large glider and therefore the 50% downsized RC model has a wingspan which mostly is bigger than some full size gliders.
wow perfect landing, impressive
_Thank you for watching and commenting !_
@@RCScaleAirplanes Nice job! I wonder what is the useful load of this Glider?
Beautiful stuff, far better that my flights on the PW5
Fantastic!
john woodfield _thanks_
Look at how much flex there is in the Wings and shudder of the Vertical & Horizontal Stabilizer.
Still a nice flight.
It's exactly the same as the full site ETA 1 .... check this out >>> czcams.com/video/kkfWbIPQh5g/video.html
Awesome model
A wonderful video Horst, very well done! It is a most impressive model and it also flies so beautifully too. Thank you for another superb production!! Cheers, Dougal
Correction. This is the largest toy aircraft that is remote controlled. The Ravn X Autonomous Launch Vehicle is a mammoth aircraft with a wingspan of 60 feet. The 18 feet tall behemoth weighs in at 55,000 pounds. THAT is the largest r/c aircraft in the world ;-)
exellent video, lots of thanks
daniel g. *_Thanks !!!_*
AMAZING! So graceful and great flying. AND the tow plane is a Wilga! How cool is that?!
Love your glider guys !
Beautiful piece !
Just got me thinking, any chance you can work a servo in to the pilot, make his head turn as you bank into your next turn ?
Would be a great extralittle touch !
Very nice indeed. What the hell are those wings made off. The aspect is ratio is HUGE!!
That’s one awesome giant Glider absolutely beautiful sincerely ❤ Richard ❤
The superships really are beautiful.
I like it, at first I thought a real airplane was going to tow it but then there was this tiny rc :D
beautiful glider scale, thanks for sharing
Nice little model!!!...Gernot like a little model....:-D
DavidePascale79 _Thanks Davide. Yes ... Gernot likes small planes ;)_
That lady never changes her expression.
Dan Jacob _Yes ... because she's happy._ 😉
Botox!
Absolutely spiffing!
Eine Meisterleistung solche Flügel herzustellen, und das made in Austria :-)und ein Glanzlicht in deinen Video Produktion, das sieht man auch bei den Zugriffen.
This is crazy! 15m is the actual wingspan of a whole category of full-scale sailplanes!
I know. But the full size *ETA 1* is really extremely large.
@@RCScaleAirplanes TRUE THAT!!!
Beautiful plane and flight just made my night. Thank you!
Great glider.
Beautiful... Probably cost as much as the real thing to build or very close to it
wonderfull film!!
That's coooooooooool. Well engineered and light aircraft. Thanks for posting. Not to be critical, you need a bigger tow plane. Put it up 1,000 ft. it won't come down till the tomorrow. Well done.
buddwizr - I totally agree 👍🏼
buddwizr _Thank you for the compliments._
The Wilga has enough power to climb up to any altitude. No matter what kind of glider it is towing. Due to the fact, that this flight was during an airshow, the flight time was limited.
_Cheers_
Bonjour Horst,
Great video and (without doubt) a long video editing work. *Thumb Up*
Best regards, Christian.
ki65ki1 _Hello my friend._
Thank you very much for your great comments. I'm very glad to know that you liked the video.
Have a nice evening. _Cheers, Horst_
Beautiful!
valderja _thanks_
Outstanding
Those little tow planes are cool.
Great flight and video....just wondering why the tow-plane didn't have a pilot? I never saw a jet powered glider either. It looked like the pilot was having fun...even though he didn't blink much; maybe sunglasses would of helped. Heading to my local airport to take up soaring!
とても素晴らしい動画ですね!
Good job
just became my favorite CZcams video
Anthony Kramer *_thanks !_*
RCScaleAirplanes Thank you!
Modelers are unique: They each have a different screw loose lol. Complements to the tow Pilot too for sure! Nothing sounds better than a "Screaming Sailplane"! You guys are nuts! lol
Great Video; Yee Haw!
*LOL* ... Yes, I know 👍😉
_Thank you for your great comment._
Glider pilot doll's eyelashes on _fleek_
Beautiful Horst! :)
avipatable *_thank you my friend_*
Which kind of license does this one require to fly? We have to pass written exam and flying test plus plane registration for everything from 2kg MTOW.
Really amazing! I wonder where the rear camera is mounted, because it seems to be over the rudder in the back, but the T shape stabilizer is not visible!? How's that?
well done guys !
Many thanks !!!
Is like a ballerina in the air, thanks nice video.
J.A Rico _Thank you for your kind comments, my friend._
Vraiment super ! très belle vidéo, bravo !

What an amazing glider. Great video. Thanks for sharing. :)
mundorc _Thank you for your kind comments. Much appreciated !_
Excellent, thanks
g0arl _thank you._
fascinating
1-Word: "BEAUTIFUL..!!!!!!"
Great job! It is nice to imagine a little bigger glider with a real pilot, but that would be at least breaking quite a few laws.
