This is what it feels like to love all 6 films.
Amen. There's only one Star Wars movie I don't love, and Harrison Ford doesn't remember making it lol
97Multiphantom the force awakens sucks
Isaiah Hale I was talking about the holiday special, but I guess you have your own opinion.
97Multiphantom thank
For me I love everything of star wars!
Those flashbacks from the prequels make this scene even better.
Fran Castillo the music though 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Fran Castillo youre absolutely right!!
What's the song name
Daniel Ciurlizza Emotive/Ambient - 12. Happiness (from Trying Not to Explode OST) and
10. We Are Not Forgotten
Omnic Unicorn you'll find them on sound cloud. The second song is called we are not forgotten by Daniel ciurlizza
This certainly shows Alec Guiness's acting talent. He acts as if he has seen all the prequels and perfectly conveys the emotions associated with his dialogue.
Studio Pluche honestly the prequels directors' made the whole series ideas off this scene and a few other key scenes from the originals.
TheAwesomeKing86 Well, George Lucas directed both trilogies, and I'm pretty sure he had an idea of what the prequels would be when he made the originals.
Kevin Reynart Well, he was still the one who created it, and I'm pretty sure he had a good idea what the rest of his movies would look like. If that is true, then my point still holds up. It is necessarily true that the idea of the "clone wars" and other prequel themes were bases off of a couple lines in this scene. It is possible that George Lucas knew that those themes would be in future movies at the time he made A New Hope. So he inserted a couple themes into Obi-Wan's story from this scene.
Absolutely! It's as if the director planned these scene purposfuly, which we know isn't true. He makes it seem like he was actually there watching Anakin burning. It's funny, you don't realize how great his acting was until you see the footage from the prequels.
It really does show his talent well. Especially since at the time they filmed this, I don’t think they had quite panned out that Anakin and Vader were the same person. Alec just had those perfect pauses and expressions to sell it for what it would eventually become.
"He was the best star pilot in the galaxy... and a cunning warrior. And he was a good friend."
I read that as he said it lol
@@nashbymusic1098 it happen many times to me
The fact they showed the opening of episode iii made the entire trailer, it's the demonstration of what obiwan is talking about
@@aspitube2515 aye tho😂😂
It’s enough to make a grown man cry 😖
It perfectly paints the picture of why he said Darth Vader betrayed and murdered your father. For one, he couldn't tell Luke the atrocities committed were by his own father. But most of all, he never stopped loving Anakin. He refused to associate Darth Vader with the memory of his fallen brother. They were truly two different people to him.
yes yes you put it perfectly dude
Nate Hoefel also Darth Vader did literally kill Anakin Skywalker
One of the best comments I have seen on a Star Wars youtube video :D
They are two different people just in 1 body if you look deep in the OST and the PST you can see clearly a differince in who controls the body at every moment
Darth Vader is the evil anakin but anakin was genuine really wanted to live by the Jedi way and bro had to manipulate him and use his emotions against him
No I'm not fucking crying there's something in my eye
Yeah who the hell is cutting onions!
hey! mine too!
Yeah, there's like.. everything in my eye.. that's why I cr.. .. leave me alone!
Gabri Torres yes you are
must be the sand
now i understand why Anakin hated it so much
This video just further proves that the prequels were awesome
Revenge of the Sith & Attack of the Clones, Magnificent.
Definitely better than TLJ...
now that im older and lived a little i appreciate the meaning behind star wars
Donnell Charles honestly revenge of the sith and the phantom menace
Santiago from a certain point of view
“You fought in The Clone Wars?” Those words always make me tear up.
yes. i don’t only tear up, i cry.
Its like me (a "New Corps" vet) asking old Marines about Vietnam/WW2.
And the Music....
Best Combination...
"He was the best star pilot in the galaxy....and he really fucking hated sand."
briantdt dying.. xD
LMfao
briantdt lol
So much funny scenes in Part 2 and 3, so this should bei placed in 4.....Just to getan auf little fun in it. ;)
And i thought my jokes are bad
When Obi Wan looks away as if he's trying not to tear up or anything after the flashback when he says "I hate you" 0:55
Braidan Murphy
to think this was almost 40 years ago speaks to the vision these movies have. They are like good scotch only getting better as they age!
Braidan Murphy It really gets to me
Braidan Murphy please, that's the best part.
sneaky reaper The double facial gesture is like he was snapping himself out of a memory he didn't want to remember
Braidan Murphy I caught that too
"And he was a good freind" his facial expression when he says that is what made it amazing. You can see the emotional hurt and pain he went through after losing all the jedi whom were his freinds the clones who he considered freinds if not brothers turning on him and his own brother Anakin turning to the dark side. Sir Alec Guinness portrayed that role perfectly with no backstory at the time In 1977.
nvb99 1999 sometimes I can’t help but notice that Alec legit looks like they just went back in time to grab Ewan Mcgregor as an old man. Also the prequels and everything were all planned at the same time, George Lucas was just waiting to see how much the movie world would change before he did that,
Seriously. That is amazing acting! It’s like he was there saying “you were my brother Anakin. I loved you.”
@@liamgoshdanglewis873this is a lie. George Lucas had plenty of design documents on the whole story of the Star Wars universe, but by the time of the first movie a lot of it was inconclusive, missing pieces or contradictory. For example, Darth Vader was not yet Luke's father in the 1st movie, neither was "Darth" a title but his name, the was no backstory for the clone wars, etc.
yes thank god it’s crazy this had no backstory and now it’s my favourite story of brotherhood ever
Before the dark times..😯😓
hey proto
ProtoMario when Disney took over star wars
Isaiah Hale true !
Darius thanks
what if disney took over nintendo
Can you hear that sound? It's my heart, breaking into pieces.
in some way it´s hard to watch that Video, isn´t it? it would be great to honor this video while something like this should be remastert (again) to the old Movies. and for sure i watched them maybe 1000 times but i will pay again for tickets in the cinema for emotional flashbacks like this.......damn i need a tissue....again
I can‘t hear this at 1:12
Before the dark times, before the empire 😣😣
Heartbroken
Oh shit, I thought that was me...
It must have been real hard for Obi-wan to re live those memories, having to deal with feelings of guilt and failure and having to deal with the stress of having to tell the story to Luke in fear that he might live to be just like his Father.
This montage hurts my heart :(
Boybandhair He dealt with that for 19 years couldn't be easy to do that
Boybandhair stupid
Well since he’s a fictional character he had no thoughts or feelings at all. It’s just a movie fam, don’t read into it as if they were real people going through real things.
Boybandhair yeah, I definitely looked at this from a psychological perspective and how messed up Obi-Wan must be from everything that’s happened to him and what he went through. This video definitely brings to light all of what Obi-Wan has seen in the movie series.
Dude, you're gonna make me cry with my own damn music. Great edit, Rob!!
Daniel Ciurlizza haha!! I'm glad you love it!
Daniel Ciurlizza any chance you will be uploading your song, "we are not forgotten"
so you know you made a great job if you start use some tissue ;)
great Music
What was the name of the song they used for this video?
Daniel Ciurlizza yeah I definitely made this edit... dude barely even bothered to change much
When I get kids, I will show them Star Wars, like my father before me.
Anti Star Wars fans: So be it, Star Wars fan
"Get"? Are you a youngling snatcher? 😂
Anakin's "I hate you!" Really got to me in this vid. Nice job dude!
userunknown203 Anakin skywalker is dead
Darth Vader
I am Darth Vader!
Darth Vader but padme only love Anakin not Darth vader
That's when I lost it haha. Tears galore.

And he was a good friend this moment i had something in my eye...
Der_GuNeR We all did. We all did.
DerGuner me too
after exploring the lore greatly, i finally have a better understanding of what Obi-Wan means when he says, "i have failed you, Anakin" 😢
"Goodbye old friend"
Kenny Bania That was the last time Obi-Wan spoke to Anakin.
@@ericgigliotti2632 Before Anakin died and then become ghost friends xd
See you again
Man, this was moving. Gives so much more weight on the story.
Lucas is a genius. Disney is... well, don't even get me started.
deloreanized thank u soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much
I agree!!!
deloreanized they both fucked up star wars when they blew up the EU and told all the fans to fuck off
Yeah. The next time they do a Special Edition those Prequel scenes should be spliced in.
JS 23 only Disney gave the fans the middle finger lucas just said the eu is its own thing but is still star wars and he didn't really touch it
Before the dark times, before the empire. 😭
deshotgunner360 😔😔😢😢
oooooooh yes.
before the prequels
Tyrannis Gaming before Disney
Disney Is Not Evil!
Man he was such an amazing actor the emotion he poured into him remembering anakian was so strong that those flash backs from the prequels really felt like they happened to him he was truly one of a kind
1:46 that cut to make it seem like obi wan's eyes were moving quickly, creating the feeling that he was uncomfortable while recalling the story to Anakin's son, is the reason I liked the video. Brilliant stuff
WHO IS CHOPPING ONIONS?!?!
Ben. S.T ikr
no one theres a fucking sandstorm brewing
i dont like sand
Ben. S.T I am
Ben. S.T that was unnecessary
Master Of Disguise at first I didn't notice his name I thought you were just saying those words 😂🐐
Even though I know the story, after watching this it seems so much clearer. Even after all these years.
This is really well made.
Tommy Nico The Clone Wars TV Show makes it even clearer, considering that takes place after Attack of the Clones and before Revenge of the Sith, and it's Canon.
Yeah, even Obi-Wan's reaction seems to be the result of remembering all of those moments. Perfect emotion.
So emotional. The story of Anakin is a tragedy.
Say what you want but the prequels helped understand why obi wan lied to luke about his father.
almost cried. How many times can you subscribe to one channel again?

You are a hero, thank you
Thanks so much Force Sensitive Friend.
Anakin Skywalker died when he accepted his new name.
"You were my brother Anakin, I loved You!" Right in the feels!
Absolutely amazing. Great job dude.
Only a sith deals in absolute
I feel every bit of emotion and I can see the hurt in obi wans eyes who else sees that
Luke: "How did my father die"
Obi: "IT'S OVER ANAKIN, I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND"
Luke: "What"
Obi: "Oh yeah, Vader killed him, I totally didn't chop off his legs and leave him to burn in lava"
Luke: "Seems legit, thanks Ben!"
That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard
Lol
why did Obi do that? Could he have helped Ani?
jokes aside Anakin died before Obi Wan killed him. That wasn't Anakin he killed that day
@@josephdavis1704 yeah, it seems both sides (Obi Wan on one side, Palpatine and Vader on the other) left Mustafar with the same idea that Anakin is dead and there is only Vader. Whenever Vader and Palpatine talk, they refer to Anakin as a third person and Vader himself even claimed he killed Anakin ("Anakin Skywalker was weak. I destroyed him")
Telling myself: "You're almost 30 years old. Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry....." Fantastic music and editing. Great job!
This was one of the best and most emotional tributes I have ever seen in my geek life
this must be the trailer for the obi-wan kenobi movie! And a scène of the movie too!😢😢😢
The Greco Gamer this needs to be the end of the kenobi movie right before the credits.
This needs to be the end scene of the movie
'He was the best CGI Pod Racer in the Galaxy when he was about 5 years old; and the internet still hates him for it'
I jest though. Very good video that actually paints the prequels well.
The prequels were made for this, to make you feel even more sad when watching the original trilogy, to feel the pain that some characters have carried for so many years
Just watched it four times in a row and totally did not cry every single time
Its obvious you did cry but why? You also didnt watch it lol
You must be R2-D2, well he shows more emotion
This is simply breathtaking. Disney should hire you to make Star Wars movies this emotional. God bless your soul.
Obi wan is my fav star wars character it still makes me cry whenever I see him. His so determined to train Anakin. His the only Jedi that did his best to train Anakin. He did seem like a true father😭😭😭😭
I wish that in Return of the Jedi when Luke asks Obi-Wan ''why didn't you tell me'' Obi-Wan would just said ''I'm sorry, I had no idea how to tell you''. The whole thing about ''Darth Vader murdered your father'' comes across as Obi-Wan trying to remember Anakin as a good person distinct from Vader, which is so tragic and gives him so much vulnerability.
The flashbacks are heart warming, and the heart pounding music puts it over the top
Luke: How did my dad die?
Obi-Wan: Oh he's not dead he's Darth Vader
Luke: WHA!
Leia Hologram: Help Obi-Wan Kenobi you're my only hope
Obi-Wan: Oh and Princess Leia is also your twin sister
Luke: WHAT! *faints*
Darth Turtle darth Vader did kill Anakin Skywalker from a certain point of view
Noah Bannister Jup
Darth Turtle you copied HISHE
Luke: But I just MASTURBATED to her last night!!
Obi Wan: .... Well at least now you know.. Can you imagine what would've happened if I decided not to tell you the truth and you would fall in love with her and might even kiss? I mean that would have been a dick move but tell me it wouldn't have been really funny. Come on tell me it wouldn't have been really funny!
No..that's not true. That's impossible!!
What a remarkable video. The movies really did not have the feeling that Obi-Wan really missed Anakin like this video has. This brought me goosebumps throughout the whole video. This is seriously gold, props to you for the editing, this is true Star Wars.
0:41 "...and he was a good friend" brought a tear to my eye.
Amazing work dude :D
THIS IS AWESOME
I LOVE IT!
N-E-O MemeV.N not only you

I dont like it
I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT OH OH!
This actually makes the prequels look ok
The prequels are the best post-OT STAR WARS movies you'll ever see.
deloreanized finally someone who understands
Papa Anakin AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Kylo Juan it sucks
The third prequel was great. The other two were eh
2:33 Palpatine hit him with the, "have you heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise?" And it only went down hill from there.
i cry every time because anakin deserved so much more.. i wish he stayed a jedi :(
Started crying at the part where obi wan said he was a good friend
The selection of music is very good. It's pacing has an ominous undertones.
Well done.
This explains so much why he looks 10 years older than he is and why he lied to Luke. Damn, man, that's some stressful shit to deal with for two decades.
The look Obi-Wan has on his face at 0:55 kills me every time. You can see his heart is totally broken. Great acting from Ewan.
I was a jedi knight like your father, proceeds to show a clip of Obi-Wan as a padawan
Before the dark times, before Disney.
This the most powerful Star Wars video ever.. I watch this video every week since I found it
Who knew a story could be told and created so deeply from so many perspectives, all from one idea of the clone wars from the first Star Wars movie. Truly a masterpiece.
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
The way he hesitates before telling Luke how his father died... or at least how it was edited to seem that way...
0:50 his reaction, this editing is unreal
This really shows how good Alec Guinness's acting really is. His facial expressions really do convey his characters emotion in remembering the past. The brief moment of pride he had as a Jedi Knight and the pain of his brother's fall.
I cried and I'm not ashamed of it. Well done.
Wow.... THIS IS AMAZING
Keep up the good work
It would have been funny if during the middle of it Obi Wan was like “ Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagues the wise?”
You really nailed this with the music choice. An absolutely stunning piece alone and when combined with such an emotional story/scenes it's just emotion overload. Fantastic job.
0:42 just got me
if only Lucas puts this in case he makes a new special edition!
The special edition should've had this but instead it had awful CGI
+Hazzer Indeed. The special edition had some good edits but why and how the fuck did greedo shoot first?!
Since Kenobi is now a confirmed movie, they should include something like this in the beginning. Very powerfully done.
“He was the best star pilot in the galaxy 😭”
May husband truly was the best Jedi and pilot and father to my kids
I absolutely love this video thank you😊😊😊
Kailyn Stewart bb
powerful
what's the song name
I've seen a lot of these flashback edits and this is the best one by far
It’s so much more powerful when Luke asks how his father died, when you realise obi wan wanted to tell Luke but Yoda wouldn’t let him cause he wasn’t ready.
McKnight Studios it wasn’t just yoda. It’s made clear Obi wan thinks of Darth Vader as a completely different
Person from anakin, that’s why he said, “He betrayed and murdered your father..”. Because the second anakin embraced the dark side of the force.... he just basically died to Kenobi.
@@liamgoshdanglewis873 and i think he doesn't want to tell luke that father became evil it might break his heart.
this deserves so ma y more veiws
the original video has them
The first time I saw this video I cried
0:42 Sets It Home.
That's How I Always Thought When I Think Of My Old Friend From When We Were Young.
Beautifully made my friend... Gave me Mustafar Flashbacks :'(
"And he was a good friend."
It would be nice if they could find some way, to properly integrate flashbacks into key scenes from the original trilogy. I like so many of the fan edits on here, but they only work as standalone efforts. Lucasfilm could help bridge the gap a little better, if they took the time to really show how certain events connect.
just curious what parts do you think need flashbacks
Well, my favorite efforts on CZcams in this regard, are this scene with Obi-Wan telling Luke about Anakin, Vader's indecision while Luke is being electrocuted, and Luke speaking with Vader on Endor. It would also be cool for them to use alternate footage of Han's torture by Vader, for Luke's vision of him and Leia while training on Dagobah. One of the best edits I've ever seen, had each saber strike during the last Luke/Vader fight, trigger a brief image from earlier in Anakin's life. It was almost like each hit chipped a bit of Vader away, freeing Anakin in the process.
just rewatched the prequels and a new hope over the past few days this video brought me to tears
Seeing Obi-Wan having flashbacks like a broken war vet gives this scene so much more meaning and depth. With the added music, cuts and overall editing bringing real emotion and the crushing reality of his past back to the surface. Just perfect. Couldn't hit the like button fast enough.
That's the best edit I've ever saw
Omg this video is amazing, it's so powerful and very very sad 😞
I can't stop watching this video is so...uh...i don't have a word...
This video is literally the most beautiful thing ive ever seen. Like just watching this video gave my chills down my spine...
Bravo!👏 This video was so well done. Brings years of movies into one clarified moment.
I love this video. Very well done and lovely music to go with it.
These videos bring so much more meaning to the characters of star wars, and I love the prequels
Brilliantly put together. Makes this more emotionally powerful.
true masterpiece

great job
absolutely brilliant... well done sir. if i could, i would edit this into my actual blu-ray!

This video moved me to tears. Thank you.
Very good video smasher, the music and the flashbacks were so good 😭😭
this made me fucking cry
its so sad
Had to come back and watch this after seeing The Last Jedi this weekend, to remind myself of the good old days... Before the dark times (new trilogy), before the Empire (Disney).
Thanks you for uploading it.
Feels Amazing!!!
This was a freekin masterpiece! Kudos to you for putting such a lovely, dramatic, creative video together. I got a few tears in my eyes. This rocks!
