  • BMW N54 335i eBay Intake Charge Pipe Install
We offered to install a N54 charge pipe on to a friends 2008 E92 335i Coupe. It wasn't as straight forward as expected. The cheap charge pipes to leave a little to be desire, but you can make them work.
This is the china spec one we use in the video not recommended, but cheap : ebay.to/2P874ei
This is what we would use if budget allows: amzn.to/38LmoWb
Both of those are intended for N54 135i and 335i models.
    This is a great kit for the E60 535i N54 models: amzn.to/2T0eUI7

Funny this parallels my experience with charge pipes, I went one worse and bought an Ali Express version (yes I should have known better) and even with lots of blood sweat and tears I could not get it to fit. I went with VRSF pipe and it fitted just fine. BTW my charge pipe was leaking on the factory tune at 70k, just a hairline crack, as opposed to my buddies M135i which literally exploded when we installed a stage 1 MHD tune. As usual great work keep it, up love the videos.

The temptation of saving money is always a strong one. I was surprise such a simple part wasn’t made correctly. Ahhh well.
Thanks for checking the video out, have a great weekend!

I hope 90% of the people know that the ebay one vs VRSF are pretty much the same but the VRSF is just powder coated with their brand stamped onto it. At least my ebay one, as it was pretty high quality for it being only $185 AU dollars...

You should install the VRSF relocated inlets. Get the 335D coolant tank and the VRSF 335D charge pipe. It’s a clean install and looks factory. Everything fit perfect on my 08 335xi and looks stock.

Every god damn time haha. We just got back from filming the full MHD ver 9 tests. The car is considerably quicker on the vbox runs. However this bloody CEL came back again. It's gonna need a Vanos solenoid.

I just put my cheap eBay charge pipe on my car. It was a pain in the ass to put in. But I made it fit... the biggest stumbling block was the ports for recirculator valves... the one nearest to the throttle body had clearance, but the second one didn't have enough clearance for the recirculator valve to fit on. I just bought some tubing with a 90-degree bend on it and made it work

That's it. Sounds just like this one. Glad you made it work. A lot of people can't seem to figure a solution.

I got the one from BMS. Went on OK not great. For only 40 more dollars. I'm sure it is made in China too, but BMS supplies a better plug for the Meth Bung. And it looks like they check the throttle body connection dimensions for proper fit. No rerouting.

I went with a VTT charge pipe from fcp euro. The kit shipped incomplete. All I received was the charge pipe. The balance of the product is still on back order from Vargas. It’s been over a months now and still no word on when it will be shipped.

I have a 2008 BMW 335i e90. I’m curious why your BMW has a speed limit of 260 and mines 160? I have a US model but I always wondered this. I notice it about a lot of bmws that aren’t made in US
Couldn’t find this info online so I’m asking
    for a friend

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 4 lety +1

Hey, the Australian model speedometers are in kmh, so 260kmh is pretty close to 160mph. I believe they also have a electronic limiter of around 155mph (this was a Europe deal thing the manufacturers had over there for a while), so if you are running a stock tune they all have the same top speed.
