You really have some quality videos .. they never disappoint from start to finish with all the information/tutorials
Watched your video and it was time to change out my OEM charge pipe so I went with the forge, just got it today, just wanna thank you for all ur videos keep them coming 👍👍👍👍
Just installed mine, thanks for the video! USB trick is 👌🏻
I love my Tial blow off valve!! Definitely makes the car more fun to drive, plus the upgraded charge pipe helps when adding boost! 🤙🏻
i know I am pretty off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released series online?
@Kason Kyrie flixportal :)
@Deandre Trey thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it!!
@Kason Kyrie glad I could help :D
Damn I did mine a while back wish I waited for your diy
your videos are so so so helpful! thank youuuuu
He's back!
I just got a Cobb Charge pipe (Fitment confirmed) and Tial knock off. Stoked to get it installed.
How did the knockoff work can u rate it ?
Thanks for the video, a lot of good insight
Great video! Even though it just started two seconds ago!! 😂
About time you get a charge pipe on this car! Blowing apart the plastic one is no fun...
Jake Spence I’ve had a few setups other than stock, but yes I agree :) 😂
Good video, I want to do this soon. I'm still a bit confused with having to use 1/4 pipe for the BOV & an adaptor you have to get. You didn't show this & explain this part enough. If this BOV needs this 1/4 pipe, why don't they supply with the BOV? So this pipe doesn't go back onto the inlet pipe, where the original pipe came off? I take it his will need blanking off?
You forgot to mention that the 1/4” banjo fitting that connects to the top of the BOV needs to be oriented in such a way that the hole aligns correctly with the nipple part or else the flow will be blocked.
Stephen Lozano If you block the flow before going for an inspection sticker will it pass?
Fred Frederickson I cannot answer that question for you. As my state doesn’t require an inspection sticker.
Hi, do you have two BMWs? I saw your other video with the FORGE charge pipe & BOV (year 2018). Which charge pipe & BOV kit you like it better? Thanks!
I think you forgot to install the o-ring between the BOV and charge pipe flange.
That’s what I thought too he’s going to have leaks ..I have a o ring install there aswell
Very strange he's responded to everyone sucking up but not this obvious one
How much difference can an intercooler make! I have a 2011 BMW X3 35i with a tune, CAI and aftermarket pipes? Should this be my next step? Also, I hear that a lot of parts for 335’s will fit on my F25 N55 car. Is this true? Anyway, great job as always bud!!
This might be late, and might be something super obvious, but if I’m coming from stock, and don’t have the Vader thing, and have everything that was on the oem one, will I still be able to do it with either just the charge pipe, or both the pipe and the bov?
Which do you think sounds better, the tial or the Forge BOV? Which is louder?
What psi spring in the Tial bov do you use with 335i e93 with std boost ?
Great video 👍 thanks for sharing!
so what happens to the diverter valves on this upgrade? it looks like they get delete. if so , do i cap off the port the third line runs to from the dirveter valve tee
Is there anything in should know before installing this kit? Right now my car is completely stock.
Nice Nebo Slyde King light haha I sell those at my store here in Portland, Maine. Good video though, have considered going this route as well
Kurt Kemp Newest one! Love Nebo 👍🏻
What size spring do you have on?
Is this bov running correctly? Because this is how mine sounds. Thanks
Hey bmw fanatic I have a simple question that i can't find anywhere. If you take off your oil cap and look into it you will see a little hole, is it more proper to poor the oil directly into that small hole inside or does it not matter if you just poor it in wherever inside?
I put mine in a year ago and my ARM Charge pipe is loose at the Throttle body. I have never been happy with it. I took another look at it. Still nothing changed! Does it supposed to have play like that? I have changed the ring in it. The clip snaps right on. I still try to push it in more. It wont go. Like thats it. And it moves a lot. No codes or any problems. Sounds great with my Tial valve. When he moves his. It has no play. Any ideas? Or am I good?? Or maybe just a bad pipe?
Tial Q and also the Vader V map sensor?
I didn't see the rubber O Ring for the BOV go on when you clamped them together. ???
is the dual venting sound normal? it scared me, it sounds like its dual releasing pressure.
what is the purpose for the blow off valve ?
I just did install on my n54 i hate them clamps they slide off
I just bought a charge pipe from vrsf with the hks bov waiting for it to come in
Nothing compares to the SSQV when it comes to BOVs
Does VRSF ship to California? Anybody know
Can you run this charge pipe set up without a tune?
Mine seems to open late or not at all, what could be the issue there??
GANG!
What happened to the forge bov?
did you forget the Oring for the BOV?
How is this setup still holding up?
DIY the new BMS Transmission intercooler.....I know I could use one!!!
Jeff Baker looking into it!
I also plan on getting this. Please do
It shows how to do it on N54tech.com.
Use fuel line disconnectors to remove the stock cooler.
connect the in and out fittings into the fittings and route the cooler to the inside of the wheel well driver side with the provided brackets.
n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56319
It doesn’t look like the tial is opening. I had the same issue with my n54/ tial setup. Tried the yellow 11psi spring and it was too stiff. Also tried another softer spring and it was too soft. I ended up having to cut 2-3 rings off the yellow springs and it’s working perfect now.
Ryan Toney I think I’m having the same issue. Would it only work at red line when it was at idle or when you let off the throttle at high rpm?
Nathan 223344 if the BOV is setup correctly it should open when you let off the gas peddle; the throttle body closes and the boost has nowhere to go so the bov opens allowing boost to escape. If the bov isn’t opening then the boost will be pushed back through the turbo causing compressor surge. If you have an n54 the first thing you want to do is upgrade your vacuum line with the vador solution kit.
Ryan Toney Yeah I noticed that too, which I’m going to look at again and see. Thanks for the suggestion
@@BMWFanatic If you still have your JB4 setup check your Auto Shift boost reduction. If the value is higher than 0 it will keep your throttle body open between gear changes and also when letting off throttle during high rpm pulls. HOWEVER.... If you're AUTO trans you are suppose to have some value above 0 as it keeps boost up around 2-5psi so the car doesn't bog down when shifting. I'm MANUAL trans so 0 setting is acceptable. Ask me how I know when my Tial didn't blow off as it should. A 0 setting -> Throttle plate closes -> Turbos still spooling (creating boost) -> Tial BOV opens vent to atmosphere. I also changed my TiAL BOV spring to 8psi black spring. Hope this helps!
The banjo bolt on top of the bov did u make sure the hole lines up with the fitting that goes to the vaccum hose?
Syed Ali I was wondering how the heck he lined those up without even trying. Bro has luck on his side for sure 😂
Jeremy Hall i marked mine so itll be easier when i install it if i ever took it off
Has anyone installed a TurboSmart BOV on a ARM chargepipe?
Why did you already get rid of the forge Motorsport kit?
because he probably got a discount to lie about this one
I cant imagine that coupler last, did you see how much it expanded just by a little throttle blip.
MrBoostedk20 Yeah I noticed that too. I’m going to test a few different ones that I have to see regarding the flexing
put a blow off valve from synapse, tried showing off to my girlfriend and when she heard it she yelled out “babe your car sounds broken” haha only car guys like the BOV
Okus Sidenote lmao my gf said the same thing!
Its been awhile since I heard someone bragging about having a synapse broke ass BOV though
Okus Sidenote haha that’s funny
Built2Fast I’ve had 5 different ones from several suppliers. Want me to brag about how many cars I own? Haha naw I’ll let you collect fountain money so u can pay rent to your parents. Btw the girl in the car was your mom. God she’s good with the D
I have an 08 335xi and I purchased charge pipe and bov from Arm. It was a little late and I was in a rush but I'm having trouble getting the charge pipe on to the throttle body. Any tips??
For anyone having this issue I ended up taking the 4 bolts off the throttle body and removed it completely. I then took the charge pipe and with alot of force managed to get it on there was no way I could have got it on with out doing this. I pulled a muscle in my arm lol trying to line it up and push it on.
Every heard of INPA or Using it? Would you be willing to do a video on how to install it and using it?
www.bimmergeeks.net/downloads
Download standard tools. Inpa is in there. They have instructions in the download also. Just make sure you have a decent computer with some good RAM. Also have your K+DCan cable connected when your installing.
I just noticed u flip the Vader solutions adapter, in your original video the VS was in front. Any reason why
bmwmike2007 Omar said it can go both ways, but I flipped it so I can shorten the hose length as I had it going pretty far around
Hey I'm having problems with my upgraded charge pipe, I've been running full Bolton and a tune for 8 months and out of nowhere I can't do pulls anymore as the c clip isn't holding the charge pipe any longer not sure what to do
I was having a similar issue when I replaced my turbos and was making full boost again (also FBO stage 2+). Sometimes at WOT the charge pipe would pop off. I ended up finding that the charge pipe wasn’t fully seated and the C clip would go on and hold enough that I could wiggle and pull the charge pipe and it wouldn’t come off. I ended up disconnecting all other components from the charge pipe and shimmied it all the way into place. I believe that the new O ring on the charge pipe was just much more firm than the old one. Another trick I’ve used to get other piping in the system fully seated is to put a light coat of oil on the O ring before installing. This not only helps it slip into place but also gives an extra layer of protection against tearing or pinching the O ring inside its groove which would give you a difficult leak to find. Hope that helps and I’d be happy to go more into it if you’d like!
PSA for those following along dont forget the ORing between the BOV and charge pipe!!!!
I know this is an old video but im hoping for a response, my tial bov came with a rubber o ring, I noticed you didn't use one when putting it on. I'm wondering what its for
wondering the same thing
I just bought a twin turbo diesel BMW I want to hear the blow off vaule and turbos any recommendations
Diesels don’t pull vacuum
closest youll get is no dpf, staright thru exhaust
Do you need a tune after you install the charge pipe an tial BOV
No, should be good
McFreakin McSweetly ok thanks good to know I’m going to order it now lol
I have a tial bov on my e92 335i but it doesn’t do anything until I Red line it at idle or when I let off the throttle at high rpm. Is the spring too stiff?
Nathan 223344 Yeah I would think it would be too stiff
If you have a JB4 setup check your Auto Shift boost reduction. I also changed my TiAL BOV spring to 8psi black spring. Hope this helps!
when getting the arm chargepipe would i need the bov line upgrade ? or can i just buy the bov and chargepipe by itself
This is still what I’m wondering cause an extra like $150 just for the line “upgrade” surely they just come with a standard one right
What happen to the forge Motorsport BOV?
Yes I'm about to upgrade to a new charge pipe with a blow off valve also and I wanna see what's better the forge or the ARM
2 months ago you installed the forge motorsport CP. What happened to that? Too many sponsors?
Yes I'm about to upgrade to a new charge pipe with a blowoff valve and I was wandering to the ARM or the forge
Does this fit on a 2009 bmw 535i?
Yes
I have the vrsf pipe and tial bov on my car. Those clamps are terrible, they kept coming off for me so I switched to pipe clamps and also don’t forget to seal the meth bungs with Teflon tape! I kept getting intake pipe under pressure codes from it. Awesome video though!
there are caps for the meth bungs. comes with charge pipe.
19:00 bov sound
What happens if you don’t have diverter valve caps?
I know this is a very late comment. But I found that Walmart sells table leg rubber ends that come in different sizes and make perfect caps and then upside down they will even make a plug. I use the 1 inch sixe. Black.
Also check these two guys out BMW DOCTOR DEAN and Nathan's BMW Workshop A lot of good info here also just ran across them
On an automatic, is the only way u can get the blow off sound by letting off the gas?
Literally any car, let off the gas. Think hard. Really hard. When you shift in a manual what are you doing with your right foot?
@@adriangutierrez8177 lol i got it😂 i have a BOV now and ive learned alot since this question
Does the charge pipe and bov only on a stock 335i require a tune to run safely I just want the noise until I pay off
it’s on, open and closes, but makes no noise, any help?
I have the same problem did you figure it out
👍👌
I hate the squeaky squirrel blowoff valve sound tail is the best
Would this work for a e60 n54?
Bro same question i have did you get sny answers?
1 slow E60 _ so far I have not. Although I did find one that works - ER Diverter Valve Charge Pipe for N54 535i 3.0TT - this is from Etektuning and is made specifically for the 5 series e60 n54
TheBreakUpMan is it expensive? I have a friend with a e60 535i and used one that was for a 335i follow me on ig jorge535i i can send you the link
keep deleting the comments that call you out bud, that's well done.
What’s that at 17:01?
Oh $#!t a GHOST 👻!!!!
Toobs138 Man, good eye haha
Will this fit my 2008 bmw 535i?
yes
Brian Leal you sure bro? I asked a seller and he said no so I don’t wanna risk it
1 slow E60 _ I just installed mine (VRSF) like 5 minutes ago. If you’re running a BOV you should be fine as that’s what I did. Very tight squeeze though
Guillermo Lopez nice thank you!
Guillermo Lopez ima get a ebay one called xspower my e60 n54 friend has it
5:07 I see you skipped putting the o-ring on. I’m about at that point trying to put my Tial bov on, getting that o-ring to stay in place is a bitch! If anyone has any tips please share!
😂😂I tried putting it together the other day glad to see I’m not the only one
@@soicygang_ had to switch the method I approached it with and was able to get it on nicely, took a few different tries to figure it out.
@@PermissionToMeow because of you I’m gonna try to put it together tonight when I get off lol
@@soicygang_ I wish I could remember exactly how I did it to explain it the right way, but I set it in place first and had my girlfriend hold part of it in place while I tightened it together. Should’ve filmed it honestly, but you’ll get it, and if you have someone there to help, that will make it way easier!
Hey man I love the content and N54 info! I do have a serious question though. Please don’t read this critically. I understand ARM is a budget friendly option and price cannot be ignored as not many are billionaires. However arm, as a brand, doesn’t compare favorably in execution or performance when compared to brands like VRSF, PSP, VTT, etc. charge pipe is less important as it’s a metal pipe and as long as it fits well isn’t a problem. FMIC for you can definitely be improved depending on what your plans are. Inlets/outlets and E85 can tax that FMIC. What my question is to you is, do you believe the cost savings are substantial enough to justify inferior quality and performance when compared to the proven brands? Again not being critical, just seen a lot of poor information about arm vs the other brands.
Car Authority The FMIC did great on my after testing on lowering my IAT’s, so checked off there. A lot of these intercooler cores are all from around the same group of 3rd party companies. Now, continuing to raise the bar with the power, then I’m sure I’ll see limitations, sure and I’ll need to upgrade. But it’s worked great thus far. I will be limiting engine mods on this car as I’ve been working to find an N55 car for the channel to go pretty heavy on the mods with still keeping the N54.
Yeah I guess a lot of what I’m reading on the FMIC market is buying one for the life of the car. Personally having a 5 series with upgraded turbos, I bought a vrsf 7” HD and I need a 7.5 race FMIC now. The one I have now is fine for stock turbos but not for 25 psi. I understand what they’re saying and I now understand what you’re saying too. If you don’t plan on going upgraded turbos then it’s not necessary. You’re also in Ohio? I’m in houston where it’s hot af so the car really doesn’t like that either lol!
Out of curiosity what’s your thinking behind modding the N55 more than the N54? It was my understanding that not only does the N54 respond better to modifications but that it’s more robust as well for higher boost applications. What’s your thinking? Awesome talking to you btw man! If you’re ever down here in houston let me know! You’re welcome to drive my car to see what you think!
Go single turbo next mod
bigger twins all the way
Agree bigger twins!! Pure stage 2
diverter valves work way better on the n54
Negative
Yes, but they aren’t nearly as fun!
