Same here! I have my Remedy 2020 size L 19.5 for at least 11mos , I am new to mountain Biking and this my first full suspension mtb right now still learning my local trail here in Laguna Socal, happy to having this😀🤘
Thanks for watching. What colour did you get yours in?
Well done mate for giving an honest and fair review, I also own a 2019 Trek Remedy 8, it is a all rounder mountainbike, good in climbing, going downhill and loves hitting all the jumps, SRAM was so kind enough to replace my rear suspension last January with the same as yours Super Deluxe Select+ , enjoy your bike and have a safe ride. Greetings from Perth, Western Australia 👍
Thanks man. Yes all going good so far apart from the brakes make a horrible sound in the wet 😂. Will probably end up changing parts when they are worn. Enjoy your new rear shock, should be better than the reactive one you had before 🤟
Looks like a perfect do it all bike. Hope it does well for you buddy! Can’t wait to see you put it through it’s paces
Thanks man. Hopefully bike parks will be open so I can once lockdown ends
I’ve raced a my remedy 8 a few times now and it seems to keep up well with a lot of the other enduro bikes , when it comes to racing something like a remedy it’s all about the rider really , great video tho
Yes super capable bike a lot more suited for my riding
My remedy 8 is coming next week and I couldn't be more stoked.
You definitely made the right choice of bike. Enjoy it
Great vid mate ... getting mine this week and hope to pop up a little review
It’s a very capable bike
Got the same model and colour but the XT version. Only changed the grips and tires Maxxis Assegai front and Aggressor rear. Grips a bit better now. Really good bike for the price just like you said.
Very nice, couldn’t find any xt ones in stock at the time. I’m probably going to end up switching the grips out soon as well as I hate bar end plugs
Great bike... Awesome skill...
Thank you
@@JKHCProductions welcome
New bike day!
Haha yeh that’s almost a year ago now. I’m due to buy a new one soon
Nice video,
I subbed
Thank you. Got some good videos planned for 2021
There’s a cheeky little upgrade you can do to the rear hub to upgrade it to 108 points of engagement. The driver is already milled out for 6 pawls and springs but comes with 3 pawls and springs from the factory so all you have to do is buy the spring and pawl kit for the rapid fire hub, it’s a 20 quid upgrade and make the hub sound awesome and better in techy climbs, I upgraded the brakes on my remedy to hope Tech 3 E4’s the wheels are fine to be honest considering the hub is upgradable.
I just double checked and we have the same wheels so you can upgrade! Just make sure you regrease the driver properly when you put it back together or you’ll get creaking from the driver and it’s super annoying!
Yeh someone else recommended that but I don’t really have a problem with the engagement. I tend to ride the stock wheels till something breaks then custom build some wheels. Tbh at the moment with all this lockdown I’m barely riding so will see what upgrades will get done. How you finding the hope brakes?
@@JKHCProductions fair enough, I have a mortgage so I’m always on the lookout for cheap workarounds haha. The Hope brakes were the best upgrade I’ve done to the bike, I had the SRAM brakes but they version of the guides I have have an inherent design flaw where the pistons don’t move out as the pad wears which basically meant I could pull the lever right back to the grip. So yeah, Hope brakes have a big thumbs up from me. It’s worth learning how to bleed them and getting their bleeding kit too so you can set them up just how you like them.
@@mrnobody9821 ahhh yeh I know the problem with the guides I was lucky enough sram replaced mine under warranty on my spesh enduro. Good to hear the hopes are working for you 🤟
Nice bike 👍
Thank you 🤟
Have you kept the bars at the supplied width? I just got a remedy 8 (my first 'modern' geo bike) and the bars seem crazy wide!!
Bars seem just right for me. My enduro had bars that were 1cm wider so it’s what I’m used to. If you find them too wide I’d recommend cutting them down to 760
Wanting to up my game a bit and upgrade to something that i can start hitting bigger jumps with and ride at bike parks as well as the usual trails, would this be the bike to do that do you think? Currently ride a full sus trail bike which is doing the job at the minute but don’t think it would fair too well at bike parks
This would be fine for that (also have a look at the slash) but I’ve got friends hitting bike park stuff on hardtails and 130mm trail bikes so most of the stuff in the UK can be ridden on any bike as I’ve taken my hardtail to parks
Cool video🤟🏻
Thanks man. Got lots of videos planned for 2021
@@JKHCProductionsCool👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I like the pedals, which one are those?
DMR V12 👍
Great video!! Where are you riding in the video?
Thanks for watching. Around my local area (Reading) towards mapledurham. Think there’s some swinley forest clips in there as well
im getting the trek remedy 7
Sweet. That’s a very good bike, my dad has it
me too ^^
hi i am getting this bike soon but before i order i heard mixed reviews about climbing how is the bike climbing wise?
Climbing wise it’s like any other enduro or long travel bike. Not the fastest but no issues. Almost the same as all the other full sus bikes I’ve ridden (Rocky Mountain altitude, focus jam, spesh enduro)
@@JKHCProductions thank you so much getting this saturday
Hi what is the difference between normal remedy 8 and the xt remedy 8?
Xt version comes with shimano brakes and drivechain 👍
How many spacers do u run in the fork?
2
Biking in MapleDurham in the last clip??
Yes it’s my local trails. Check some of my other vids out as most of them are filmed around there
Hi Man.
Can I ask how tall you are? I see you have a ML size.

I have the same bike and my only complain are the brakes being so loud and sometimes it sounds like a turkey gobble lol
Haha yup in the wet they sound horrendous but that’s down to the sintered pads
@@JKHCProductions mine Is super bad haha even when dry it still making the noise uhhhh
@@regularMattMatt maybe check your pads aren’t contaminated
@@JKHCProductions yea the shop said it was contaminated. Then i replaced the contaminated pads and after 2 rides here comes the turkey gobbles again. Sucks lmao
@@regularMattMatt damn do you know how they are getting contaminated? How do you transport your bikes etc
What is the frame size and your height
It’s a M/L and I’m 5’8
@@JKHCProductions even i am interested on the bike my hieght is 168cm and i love the a small frame bike feels should i go for a small size remedy
@@dhiraj_77 I’d recommend taking one out for a test ride 👍
I’ve was going for a 2020 trek remedy frame Matt black and olive green logo, but it was discontinued so I was able to find. 2018 trek remedy frame, grey/black colour, going to get a custom colour trek logo in green exact same as the other 2020 model, I am like 5’4 and went for a medium, they gave the same rt3 shock so yeah, I will make a video when it arrives later this week
How would you compare this to the fuel ex?
An overall more aggressive bike. Depends what you end up riding like I mention in my remedy 7 vs remedy 8 video. The remedy is a do it all bike but the fuel will be more comfortable for all day riding and general trail stuff
