    Correction: This bike actually uses the Fox Float Performance X rear shock, not the Performance Elite.

    I’m so happy for you man, you inspired me to get into Mountain Biking around a year ago and I was able to get myself a 2021 X-Caliber 9. I love that thing. Anyway, it was been awesome to see you getting and riding bikes that you love. I remember when you were still on your 2020 Marlin 5!

    plz make a vid of you riding it... and home in on the suspension. I been driven the Trek Roscoe 8 2020 slate gray. and LOVING IT! I think htat the Remedy 8 is the right upgrade for me!
    So now you have been riding it a few weeks. plese lets see more! (9,8 is over my price range for what i want to pay for a bike)

    Man, I really wanted the remedy 8 for 2 years, and when I finally could order it, I found out the delivery would happen by the end of 2023. Yes, almost by 2024! The components, geo, and price was rather good looking for me, but eventually I went for the Propain Tyee, and expect it within New Year’s Eve.

    • @TalalipopMTB
      @TalalipopMTB  Před 2 lety

      Yeah it’s insane how backed up they are still. I ordered this one at the beginning of the year so I bit the bullet on the wait time

    surprising that my remedy 8 2018 with minor upgrade, dt swiss 350 hubs/xm481 wheelset, renthal apex stem/fatbar light aluminum handlebar, maxxis dhf/dhr tanwall combo is similar weight to the new remedy 9.8 carbon just around 14kg😁

    Have you ridden a previous Trek’s with the full floater to compare with this new generation rear suspension? Possibly do a comparison video

    EXCELENT Please do more videos on this bike as I really wanted this bike but stopped with the Trek Fuel EX 8. Also if you could ride and compare the experience of that Remedy to Fuel EX.

    Looking at picking one up as we speak but wonder if you could compare (if you know) the playfulness of the Remedy to a Santa Cruz 5010cc. Time to upgrade my 2016 5010 but thinking about a little extra suspension. Thanks and great vids!

    • @mylesfeuer2291
      @mylesfeuer2291 Před 2 lety +1

      I've got a remedy 9.8 myself, my previous bike was essentially a 5010 and I also have a friend with a 5010 and he's taken it for a spin as well. It has a fair bit more travel so it does take a bit more effort to muscle the bike around compared to my previous bike but the 27.5in wheels keep the bike just as nimble/playful as shorter travel bikes. Also compared to other bikes in the trek lineup like the slash, I really wasn't a fan of the slash I am 6'5 but do generally prefer a bit smaller of a bike and the slash felt HUGE in comparison with its reach being nearly 50mm longer. It is good for riders(like myself) who aren't quite yet sold on super long and slack geometry I see so many companies pushing. The bikes geometry is not nearly as extreme as some other brands with a 65.6 degree head tube angle in the low making it a fantastic all around bike for everything from XC to putting in laps at the bike park as I do truly ride everything. One area where the 5010(specifically the upper link I've never ridden a lower link 5010) is leagues ahead of the remedy however is in pedaling efficiency, before getting my remedy I heard many reports of it not being a strong climber and I unfortunately have to agree. It isn't nearly as bad as what some people make it out to be but I feel myself wanting to reach for the lockout switch more often than on my last bike, but for the most part I don't ever really lock out the rear. was just Scanning the comments and figured I'd provide some of my insight even if I'm 5 months late haha

    Been riding a feul ex 8 for a year now recently I've started going to bike parks would the 27.5 make much difference with the jumps? As my next upgrade will either be a slash or a remedy depending if the wheel size makes much difference for jumps as I prefer to do more jump lines than rootie burm line. Any feedback would be appreciated. That bike looks 🔥

    • @gokuriotyt1197
      @gokuriotyt1197 Před 2 lety +1

      27.5 are a bit better for jumps then 29ers 27.5 wheels are gonna be a bit slowe then 29ers but 27.5 wheels are made to be more snappy on turns and just overall riding. 29ers are gonna be faster but they might struggle on turns that the 27.5 wheels. It mainly depends on how you ride so if you are going for big jumps I'd get the slash but if you are going to be on trail that have a lot to turns and smaller jumps then go with the remedy. Hope this helped

    How does this bike compare to the 2022 remedy 9.9. I’m assuming they are probably the same bike but higher grade carbon

    • @TalalipopMTB
      @TalalipopMTB  Před 2 měsíci

      As far as I know Trek hasn’t made a Remedy 9.9 since 2020, but the grade of the carbon doesn’t change on these bikes. The higher the number, the better the parts that come with it so higher end brakes, suspension, drivetrain, etc. The carbon will stay the same

  • @nafsucof
    @nafsucof Před 2 lety +1

    that rear shock is the fox float x performance not performance elite . i have the same suspension on my commencal. our rear shock is missing compression adjustment only having the flip switch for firm and soft.

    • @TalalipopMTB
      @TalalipopMTB  Před 2 lety

      Oh interesting; I see that now. I was misled by Trek’s website since they listed it as a Performance Elite. Thanks for the info!

  • @radicalturkey
    @radicalturkey Před 2 lety

    That shock is not performance elite. It is performance without the blue LSC knob. Instead of 11 settings for LSC it has 4 which you access by taking off the black cap and turning the metal thingy underneath.

    You should do more rude reviews than just covering part spec. People can look up parts and features but they can’t look up your opinion
