I saw patients denied care due to COST. Literally just "This procedure will save their life, but it costs 70k because we need to bring in an outside expert" "Denied. 2 years of being the only staff member in a 60 bed psych unit, because three of my coworkers were disabled by violent patients, 6 of them quit, and 2 took their own lives after working 120-140 hour work weeks for 8 months.

One of my favorite parts of World War Z (and there's a lotta good parts) is where a bunch of rich a holes set up in a luxury bunker thing and film a 24 hour reality tv show of themselves riding out the apocalypse. It lasts like half a day before an angry mob literally kicks down the gates.
Not an angry mob, a desperate mob. They were broadcasting that they had safety, food and water, and didn't realize that that might draw the attention of a lot of people who are severely lacking in those things and would very much like them back. The merc telling the story mentioned that it was a genuinely good setup and these morons might have actually managed to live through the apocalypse in luxury if they had just kept their heads down and didn't broadcast how well off they had it along with their exact location.
