Seven or eight (I forget how many) books from the Animorph series, a Ripley's believe it or not book from the early 2000s, (I think it was the 2000 edition, it was silver-colored and was trying way too hard to look special), the first book of Captain Underpants...I can speculate on more, but those are the ones I remember clearly.
(Edit) at the time, I also had Eragon, one of the Star Wars prequel Novelizations, (I think it was Attack of the Clones), a short biography of Martlin Luther King Jr and a few Calvin and Hobbes comics that I'd brought from home.

We were apparently good kids. Been in an easy 20-30 of those things growing up (some of them multiple times), and never had to worry about cleaning up people’s literal s**t or vomit. Nowadays, that’s apparently a LOT more common, so either Gen X is doing a crap job at raising their kids, us Gen Y’ers are, or maybe there’s something to this whole “screen time is desensitizing our kids” trend that’s been going on for years, because this stuff didn’t happen when I was a kid, and that wasn’t that long ago (well…20ish years, but YOU GET MY POINT!).
