I think this was based on Singing in the Rain in some way. Back then the movie was considered soft porn in places. This song is a dream where she's looking at photos of heroes and heroines in a bioscope and imagines she can be part of the world. You should check out what a bioscope is and it's place in Indian society. There's even a 2017 movie Bioscopewala.
