This looked like a compilation of clips because at the end you would have seen lot of people around them.. Basically the whole song sequence comes in the movie as a shooting of a film song in which jackie and urmila are the actors. They both play character of movie stars and here they are shooting a song for a movie... Jackie starts falling for her at this moment.
The actual pairing of urmila is with Aamir in the movie.
Thankyou for reacting to this one. So basically Urmila Matondkar is playing an actress in the film and Jacky Shroff is playing an already established star in the film... This song is just a song that they are shown shooting for in the film and not really a song for the film Rangeela where you can see a story progression. I would really recommend to you another song of this film "Kya kare kya na kare" ..which is more like a dream sequence from the pov of a drunk Amir Khan. He has feelings for Urmila in the film but he doesn't know how he should tell her...the song literally means "what should i do or shouldn't"

The song Tanha Tanha was a huge hit and one of the most popular on the album, but the video is kinda weird and like u said... feels like a dated music video. Tbh., I've never watched the full video. I just listen to the song.

At least YOU should have continued with resctions to old classics..more from the black and white era of films. The reason is that those songs were unadultered talents..not touched up or electronically adjusted to iron out any imperfections. Every song and I mean EVERY song these days is electronically enhanced..its fine as far as listening pleasure goes..but to praise the heavens about them is a total no go.
