    Great advice Darren. Make total sense to have a good pricing structure. It’s the main bit of advice I always give to a newbie not to under price no matter how desperate you are for the work

    I hate the ones that agree a monthly price, then after a couple of cleans ask for every two months at the same price. I had one recently that couldn't understand why the price would be more. I explained that we have a pricing structure. And that a monthly clean is lower than a bi monthly of tri monthly. She still couldn't grasp it. So out of desperation I pulled out an example. " if I done yours once a year would you expect to pay the same as what you pay now for monthly? Er... Yeah she says. " Do you think the job would take me longer?" No she says. Then she says her washing machine takes the same time to do really dirty clothes as a little bit dirty. At this point I was toying with the idea of ramming my pole somewhere!!' But in a flash and a moment of pure bliss I said " would it take you the same time if you washed them by hand? "
    She laughed and said fair point. Hahaha.

      @@jonnyretro5873 My opinion is to speak with your wallet. (or theirs.) if they want to drop from, say, 4 weekly to 8 weekly, just increase the price a little. (doesn't have to be too much extra, just a little to justify the extra time you'll spend on the job)

      @@unstablerupture6983 yes I use the same approach now mate.
      I would probably charge £3 - £10 extra for bi monthly depending on size of the property.
      Ethier monthly or bi monthly doesn't bother me as long as the price is right for me. But we always aim for monthly 4/5 weekly basis if we can.

    Just went to hand out some flyers, I noticed a fish and chip shop as i rode past with some serious streaks on the window so figured he didn't have a cleaner, popped in and asked if he needed one.
    He said he has a guy but enquired about my rates, I took a quick glance over a few large windows and said £20 first clean, £15 per month thereafter, he looked visibly shocked and said his guy did them for a fiver! there must be 12 square metres of glass and framing i pointed out the streaks and said that's why you're paying only a fiver mate, he took my flyer but I'm not expecting a call any time soon, hoping he notices the streaks his guy leaves next time and gives me a call but not banking on it haha thanks for all the videos mate, they are a real help to someone just starting out, i thought of you and stood firm on my price please keep the content coming, cheers.

    hi my names Mark and ive been window cleaning traditionally for 35yrs. just beginning to transfer over to the pole system and watched your CZcams presentation about having a price structure. My problem with this is every house is different you might have a 3 bedroom detached with extra side windows or one with a bigger conservatory than there neighbour or a detached bungalow that's 3 bedroom but higher reaching than a standard bungalow that drops down at the back because its on a slope. How do you cater for these oddities without first seeing them.

      I would just put from in front of your prices on your website. Or if i text a customer i tell them that price is subject to on sight survey.

      @unstablerupture6983 Před 4 lety

      If you haven't seen the job, just say that the price over the phone or whatever is just an approximation, and you can't give a final, definite price until you've seen the property in person.

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  Před 5 lety +4

      Yes, providing we had sent a text reminder the night before and received no reply then we would (and do) do the fronts only and put in the full bill. The benefit of the text service is that it allows a customer a chance to reply 'Sorry on holiday' 'sorry at a funeral' etc, we do not mind an OCCASIONAL skipped clean as long as we have been notified so that we do not waste our time and resources traveling to the job to begin with.

    No first clean premium?

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes and no - we implemented a first clean premium when we were accepting any old form of payment, customers that insist on cash or cheque are doing so as they want an easy out if they need one, they are already considering how to get shot of you if they change their mind so in those times yes, a first clean premium was key. Now we only accept GoCardless and Customers MUST sign up before the first clean is done, this shows an actual commitment to an ongoing process on their part so less chances of an early cancellation (you still get the odd one in a hundred but that's life) We ask the customer when the last time they were leaned was, if we get, 'oh they've never been done' the a first clean premium goes on, if we get '2 months ago but the old cleaners retired' then they wont need too much doing so we'll let it slide. I guess it's a matter of discretion

      Green Pro Clean Ltd I find it’s one part new sign ups sometimes shy away from when I hit the double on the first time line.
      I’m pretty much merging into on GoCardless on regulars now, infact it’s the only option of payment left on my website.
      This is great in theory but I have also found new customers are weary of setting up a direct debit style billing as much as some don’t like a 1st clean extra, as we know though we can’t win them all, I generally work on gut instinct most of the time, and most comes from been recommended-so it’s a head start for me.

    Don't they say if you list your prices on the website wouldn't other people try to under cut your price?

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  Před 5 lety +1

      If I worried about what others thought of my price I would never go to work in the mornings. If somebody wants to undercut me they would have to follow me around every single customer and then offer them a better deal hoping that the customer would be shallow enough to leave us and go with them all for the sake of £1 or 2. Is it really worth worrying about. ?

    • @nathansmiddy
      @nathansmiddy Před 5 lety +1

      @@Darren-Green Well I wasn't saying that in a nasty way, I'm just saying that it could be the case, just I had noticed some companies don't put price rates on their site due to other people might try and be cheaper then them ect that's all.

      @Darren-Green  Před 5 lety +1

      Didn't think you were trying to be nasty at all mate I've just trying to say that I honestly don't care if people try to undercut me if I'm going to lose a customer simply because somebody wants to be a pound or two cheaper than me then they're not the type of customer that I really want to begin with to be honest
