    You’ve sold it mate, I’m going go careless . Btw your not the only who’s advised that. Been in business over 21 years. You make sense.

    Should of done this long time ago. Always 2/ 3k behind.. just sent out email to existing customers and only 3 takers!! But you know what.. I'd rather stay with those 3 customer s and start again doing what's right for me. The guys at go careless are brilliant..
    Great vid .thanks very much

      Stick with it.. Every time you go there to a customer. Just open the app and get them set up on your GoCardless. If they got a grumble explain it to them nicely but be firm. Tell them within 2 months it's the only option.

    You're exactly right fella, you run your business and decide what methods of payment you accept, not your customers. I run a small business, but only deal with commercial customers, and we still only accept GoCardless/Direct Debit as a method of payment - if a potential customer doesn't want to sign up to a direct debit, then I aren't interested in doing business with them. Anyone not wanting to setup a direct debit just sets off alarm bells, and isn't the type of customer I want.

    Another good one. I’ve never collected money always insisted on cash, cheque or bacs but always having to wait or remind them. This is definitely the way forward. Thanks 👍

    Good video and absolutely right. Ive had this policy in place for the last four or five months. So far ive had no objections and thats because i am not giving them the option for anything else. If you want my service, this is the way to pay for it

    Absolutely love Gocardless & like yourself Darren, its the only method i now use for payments. So convenient to both the customer & myself. Linked up with cleaner planner & its even better.

    With my commercial work, I can honestly say, I've never had trouble getting paid by Bacs. NEVER! But, with my other customers ( it's the same 3/4 people - after I've put a note through the door saying your windows were cleaned) I have to remind to do a Bacs payment. So yes, Darren, you do speak sense ( as usual)

    Just watched this video and some good advice. The worst offenders on my round aren't the ones who pay cash, it's the ones that pay via bank transfer. I reckon a good 60-70% of them "forget" to pay and I'm always chasing them up, even though my slips that I leave state "Payment within 7 days" highlighted by a fluorescent marker. This could be a viable way to stop that.

    You crack me up Darren, but you say it how it is which is the best policy. Definitely going GoCardless. What happens though if you genuinely have a elder lady/ gentleman that has no family to set it up. Do you still accept cash on this basis

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  Před 2 lety

      Yes, but only as elderly are usually home if they know you are due, or they use the old system of leaving in agreed place such as under the bin or coal shed.

    Are payments automatically taken regardless of weather conditions
    E.g. not being able to complete the clean on a specific day ?

    • @Darren-Green

      No. Payment needs to be requested. When job is synched as done then it get's collected.

    Brilliant video.
    I'm just starting out and am using Aworka with GoCardless, I email the customers a link through Aworka and they set up the direct debit.
    Can I ask why you ask for their account number and sort code?
    Didn't know if I'm missing something, thanks.

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  Před 6 lety

      Rob Binnie cause I then go on the GoCardless interface myself and sign them up. Just one more way of making sure it gets done right away and not 'I'll sort that out later'

    • @Darren-Green

      Steve Hughes NOOOOOO....... just the basic. Just tell customers your D.D. service is called GoCardless to avoid confusion.

    Can you do a video on using cleaner planner? especially with regards to go cardless payments! Do you add the customer using cleaner planner mobile app? and once you complete a job and click done in the app will that initiate the payment or do you need to click paid to get gocardless to bill or do you have to go home log on and then submit the worksheet?

    Hi mate great video! one question though. You say about taking the customers details i.e sort code and acc no and getting them set up. but iv been on thegocardless website etc and cant find a way to do that..it only gives me the option to send them an email so they can fill out a form. is there a way i can just take their details and get them set up? cheers

    Hi there sir. Enjoyed your videos and learning a lot so first of all thanks.
    I was wondering if you could tell me what van and system you use?
    I'm planning my first investment and have about 5.5k for all equipment and van...not a lot I know but I'm A. Worried about buying a van to cheap and B. Getting a big new van with a couple years contract when I have not yet seen success.
    If I go for financing a van it would liquidate extra cash for equipment/system perhaps...
    What would you advise?
    Long message but thanks for any advice you can give 🙏

      @davemonk1662 Před 6 lety

      blackblitz2011 mate if your just starting out you start as you men’s to go it’s all good getting customers who pay cash but once you decide to bring gocardless you’ll find a lot will be unsure on the new payment methods I’ve been in the game 20 years gocardless is the way you wanna go from day one ... you tell customers gocardless collects Payments on be hart of your business this is the only method payment we except if customers don’t like move on ...... keep away from schools most schools have budget of £1000 For Window cleaning on the outs sounds good it is if you can clean in couple of days with one lads wages to pay for 2 days then all good but ..... if you start going into 3 to 5 days to complete then you won’t have much profit how do I know cos I’ve been there myself... 2 days max working on school then all is good. 👍
